I had four pieces to be framed, each from 8x11 to about 16x20, and the prices, while higher than something like a Michaels, were certainly in line with what one would pay for custom framing work. One starts by making an appointment to come in, and Andy will help with options and pricing. He has a ton of his work on the walls in the shop, including many pieces for sale. I dropped my pieces off and he promised it within two weeks. Much to my surprise, I got a message less than a week later that the work was done! Since it was a gift for my wife, I took her with me to see the finished products, and she was thrilled! I'd highly recommend Andy for any custom framing work, and again, you'll feel better knowing you supported someone who lives in the community and truly does great work.

After a couple of years, the art work in a couple are drooping probably from poor choice of tape. So when I recently acquired a couple of new art pieces I decided to get them framed correctly. I went to Yelp and found the best framing company listed, and let me just start by saying Yelp was right as usual. I could not be more pleased with the results from Art & Frame + Signs. The owner is a professional and knows so much about proper framing. I spent extra for the museum class glass for my frames and it's worth every penny. Absolutely stunning work from Andy! He helped me choose the frames to best compliment the art and it's so beautiful. The attached photo doesn't do it justice. Highly highly recommend Andy and Art & Frame + Signs.

My sister recommended Real Framing. They made frames for the existing mirrors that look perfect with the new lights, paint, and hardware. It was a very tight fit with the new lights so there was zero wiggle room. Because of the weight I didn't want to move them out of the house so the owner provided expert guidance on mounting and securing the frames to the mirrors then onto the walls. They provided the hardware to do it right. It's an awesome upgrade...would NOT have turned out so well without the frames. And I can still afford Starbucks.

Finding a good stained glass company is challenging. There aren't many companies, and there even…read morefewer reviews on Yelp or Angela's list. I found one company that a neighbor said to avoid at any cost, a guy who looked at my glass window and never called me and provided a bizarre excuse when I contacted him again, and Stained Glass Unlimited. Woohoo! The third company was the charm. Denise came and looked at my glass and sent me a guesstimate, explaining why she couldn't provide me with a firm estimate yet. Once she took the window out, I got a firm estimate. She discussed our options and gently guided us through the options when I got stuck. The process of getting a new stained glass window isn't cheap or quick, but all delays were on my side, not theirs. The only negative was that installer put the new window in upside down, but both Denise and I quickly identified the problem, and the installer came back to put it right.

I paid $2,011.58 to have a custom 46" x 46" stained-glass panel encapsulated. Unfortunately, when I…read morereceived the panel back, I found several workmanship issues that were concerning to me. The first issue I noticed was a visible line of light running across the glass. The owner, Denise, acknowledged this issue in an email and apologized, stating that the spacer should have been placed against the edge of the stained glass. She proposed replacing the existing aluminum trim with a larger channel that would cover the visible light line. For a custom piece of this size and cost, I expected the encapsulation to be completed without this type of issue. The proposed solution would have covered the visible light line with larger trim rather than correcting the underlying spacer placement. I was also told that the panel did not require internal support to address potential came creep. Given the size of this 46" x 46" panel, that was a concern for me. As I examined the panel more closely, I found additional issues. The border was not symmetrical. I was told at various points that there was no size issue and that adjustments had been made to make the window square. However, based on my measurements, the interior was already square. Two of the borders measured approximately 2 1/8", while the other two measured approximately 1 7/8" -- a difference of approximately 1/4". I also discovered that one of the white glass pieces had been broken. I had not been informed that this piece had been damaged; I discovered it myself. A replacement piece had been installed, but the replacement glass appears visibly different from the original in both pattern and coloring. On a custom, one-of-a-kind piece, that difference is permanent and very noticeable to me. I do want to give the company credit for one important thing: they ultimately issued a full refund of the entire $2,011.58. I appreciate that, and I think it is important to acknowledge it. Unfortunately, the refund does not restore the panel to its original condition. I am still left with a custom stained-glass piece with replacement glass and an asymmetrical border, and I am now paying someone else out of pocket to determine whether the panel can be properly repaired and completed. If you're bringing in something mass-produced or easily replaceable, the experience may be different. But if you're entrusting a custom, one-of-a-kind, or irreplaceable piece -- particularly an heirloom or commissioned stained-glass panel -- I would recommend asking detailed questions about how the piece will be supported, handled, inspected, and what procedures are followed if damage or workmanship issues are discovered. In my case, the company did ultimately refund my money, and I appreciate that. However, the panel I received back had issues that I now have to address at additional expense.
