I sought Andy's shop after finding him here on Yelp. I loved that it's a small local business, run by the owner who clearly takes pride in his work. I had four pieces to be framed, each from 8x11 to about 16x20, and the prices, while higher than something like a Michaels, were certainly in line with what one would pay for custom framing work. One starts by making an appointment to come in, and Andy will help with options and pricing. He has a ton of his work on the walls in the shop, including many pieces for sale. I dropped my pieces off and he promised it within two weeks. Much to my surprise, I got a message less than a week later that the work was done! Since it was a gift for my wife, I took her with me to see the finished products, and she was thrilled! I've had some very special (to me) art framed in a couple of name brand stores in the past and even though I paid more for supposably better results, in the end the framing done is usually pretty poor. After a couple of years, the art work in a couple are drooping probably from poor choice of tape. So when I recently acquired a couple of new art pieces I decided to get them framed correctly. I went to Yelp and found the best framing company listed, and let me just start by saying Yelp was right as usual. I could not be more pleased with the results from Art & Frame + Signs. To my dismay a frame holding heavy tiles fell off of my wall because I trusted Command velcro wall strips. The frame fell apart, one of the tiles broke and a corner of the frame was chipped. After purchasing a new tile, I'm so glad I found Art & Frame + Signs. Owner Andy Chu re-set the tiles, reconstructed the frame, repaired the chipped frame on the corner and added the appropriated wire hanger on the back. No more Command velcro strips for me. At first I thought we were shopping way out of our price range because of how nice the framed artwork looked. Andy does amazing work. We not only had him frame several pictures, but we bought around 10 framed artwork used to decorate our new home. He has thousands of framed pictures in his showroom to purchase in all sizes, prices and different collections. Andy took special care with a vintage oil painting I found at a thrift store. I wanted a certain look to enhance the artwork and he spent all the time I needed pulling frame samples and making suggestions based on my ideas. The end product is really stunning - the perfect vintage look in a fresh new frame and liner. I found the pricing reasonable and the turnaround very good (quicker than I was told). So, I have tons of art that's been sitting under my bed for 11 years. I decided I was making the goal to find a framer and do at least one piece a month. I wanted someone in McKinney becuase I live there and I'm tired of places like Michael's or Aaron Bros. They just don't ever make me happy. I found this place, read the reviews and decided to give it a try. I took in 6 pieces of art to be framed for my bathroom. I wanted it done by the time my guests came in the next Friday ( I went in on Saturday). Andy told me he'd shoot for Friday by noon. I got a text that they were done Thursday so I picked them up and they looked awesome. I took iin 2 more pieces. Andy is so patient and really knows how to put matting and frames with the stuff you take in. I'm not good at that at all. I was hesitant about the matting color just because I'm bad with colors. When I got the work back a few days later (early again) it was absolutely beautiful! He KNOWS his stuff! I now have two more pieces into him and will never go anywhere else. Andy is so, so nice and the best thing is that he sends me texts to let me know when things are done and ready for pick up! And I never even asked him to do this!
