I placed an online order for five 12" x 12" Studio Décor shadow box frames, totaling $110. The product page stated "Oversized Shipping Fee: $3.99 per item" but also claimed "Free over $49" immediately underneath. Naturally, I expected free shipping on an order well over that threshold. Instead, I was charged nearly $20 in shipping fees. When I contacted customer service, I was told the frames were "oversized" and not eligible for free shipping--even though that wasn't clearly stated. The language on the product page is contradictory and misleading. This isn't about $20--it's about transparency. If oversized items aren't eligible for free shipping, that should be clearly disclosed without conflicting statements on the same page. My boyfriend and I went into the McKinney Michael's location off 75 right before closing. I had a $10 rewards voucher that expires tonight (10/03) and I wanted to use it. We quickly found what we needed and made our way to the front to check out. There were still a couple minutes left before closing and as we're using the self checkout, I'm unable to use the rewards voucher. While we're struggling to figure it out, we both overhear an exchange between a customer and an employee. The customer was asking if there were any coupons on the website, and the employee (Kara) replied that "she didn't know how to use the website. She only uses the website to look up a SKU for an item." She quickly brushed the customer off, held up her hands as if to say "sorry, I can't help you" and went about her business. She continues talking with the customer throughout the rest of the transaction and afterwards. This entire time, my boyfriend and I are waiting for her to finish, so we can get some help. Kara comes over, finds out what our problem is and we basically have the same conversation as the other customer. Kara said "yep, sorry, can't help you there. I've got no idea and we're closing; so I need to get the customers out of the store." She then told us that they had closed 5 minutes prior and her manager was going to be upset that there were still customers in the store. My boyfriend said that he understood, but we were up there before closing and had waited until she was available. He asked to see the manager and Kara replied that "she's too busy counting the money", but went ahead and paged her to the front. Kristen quickly appeared out of nowhere and was the complete opposite of Kara. We apologized for being there past closing, but Kristen shrugged it off like it was no big deal. She was kind, friendly, understanding, and helpful. She said that other people had been having the same issue all day and to contact customer support to see if they could fix the issue. Kristen is the only reason this is a 2 star review instead of a 1 star. My boyfriend and I both felt from Kara that we were being rushed out of the store with a legitimate issue, didn't receive proper customer service and were treated quite rudely. I understand everyone has an off day, but there should be NO reason why you can't at least TRY to help the customer, while being sympathetic about their situation. I'm hoping the higher ups see this, so at least the reward voucher issue gets resolved. read more

This is a great place for a artsy person. Plenty of thing also for the not so artsy. I needed superglue and glue activator. I asked an employee if the carried activator and she responded with "slime activator" I said no glue activator. She said no we have slime activator. I just kept my mouth shut. But anyways she was nice and was helpful with everything else I needed. read more

Decent selection at this Michaels. However, the store aisles are super tight and during busy times it feels like you're crawling over other customers to navigate the store. I appreciate the hard work the associates to do keep the store from feeling cluttered and the new check out configuration is a tremendous improvement. Unfortunate strip center to be located in - while it's clustered with other must-visit stores, the entry/exit points are very difficult. read more

In general Michaels is a good place for arts and craft items. But the framing department is way out of wack on prices. I needed a piece of glass cut for a frame: 10" x 20" is all. The quote for this was $33.00!!!!! Went to Lowe's and the cost for this custom cut was less than $6.00!!! What does that tell you??!! read more

Michaels is a last resort for me. I dread going in this particular store. It is woefully understaffed and to find the goofy rare thing that I need almost always requires asking someone where it's located in the store. You can't find a free range associate and I just can't bring myself to be rude and walk up to the the head of the line ask one of the two cashiers who are busy working their five-people deep queue. Up this aisle, down the other and back and forth and across the store. Numerous times I've just walked out empty handed not knowing if they had what I was looking for or not. read more

All right, I'll admit it, I'm a bit of a Michael's geek. I can literally spend hours in here exploring the aisles. It's got so much to offer, whether you're just looking around and picking up ideas or shopping for a specific project in mind. And the fact that they have 40% off sales practically every other week doesn't hurt! Their Wilton Cake Classes offered during the summer are pretty good too. Definitely a craftmaker's heaven. read more

I have had nothing but great experiences at this store. I have been here about three times now and every time the store is extremely clean and organized, the cashiers are friendly and there is a wide variety of seasonal items (my main reason for going). I did score some great deals on some candles but I will be back soon to get some Halloween decor. The selection they have this year is probably my favorite! read more

I looked EVERYWHERE for a Cricut EasyPress 12X10. They were sold out at every location. I found one here online so I purchased it at FULL PRICE! I live over an hour away from this location. However, I'm going to do what it takes to make my wife happy. So we drove all the way to this particular location picked up our order curbside. And drove back home. At this point that's 3 hours of driving for this iron. We're driving home and she's watching unboxing videos of the EasyPress. We get home and open the box and this item had already been used! I called the store telling them the situation and the girl on the phone said. Well, yes. We do sell returned items. At this point I'm already upset. Why would they sell something that's used at FULL PRICE! Also, we're in a pandemic right now how am I to know the person before me wasn't infected with something. CHECK TOUR ITEMS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE SINCE THEY LOVE SELLING USED STUFF AT FULL PRICE. read more

Anytime there is a shower or party that requires a "DIY" project, this is always my first stop. They constantly have coupons to ease the impact on my wallet and I can pull them up on my phone. Recently I purchased my grandmother an art kit that she absolutely loves. Nice location conveniently located near some other stores that I frequent. Only really worth it to buy things that you can't find elsewhere as the prices are a bit higher than you would find at say Walmart for the same items. Every store in this plaza gets a -1 for the entry/exit fiasco. Going out to the East, you often get blocked in or have to get into the turn only lane (the straight lane is over another lane from where you come out of the plaza) and then be a jerk to those who are actually turning while you try to get over another lane. Going to the west is an absolute disaster. There is only one light that backs up about 20 deep with cars coming from the front of the strip and the back of the strip taking turns while only getting a couple of cars worth of green light at a time. Other than in the middle the night (or other similarly dead times), trying to turn left out of the non-light intersection is simply not going to happen. read more
