El Tikal Mexican Restaurant & Bar - Delicious!!

El Tikal Mexican Restaurant & Bar

Skipped breakfast so I was halfway looking for a brunchy option when I stumbled into El Tikal…read more With a quality lunch special section, plus your everyday Mexican favorites and a great variety of meat, seafood and veggie dishes, I had a hard time deciding. I'm usually a combo order kind of guy, but I had to throw together my own little lunch variety pack, add Santa Fe (breakfast) burrito. Plantains always hit for me, but these were extra caramelized and gooey so I had to portion them out between the beginning and end of the meal. The mole sauce on the chili relleno was smokey and not as spicy, but really well-balanced. The tamale with red sauce seemed less flavorful than the other dishes, but I'm no tamale expert and I've been hanging out with a lot of Italians recently. The Santa Fe burrito was out of this world: the eggs, nice and crumbly with tons of seasoning and flavor, the cheese-covered chorizo oozing into each bite. I need this again, and I'm sure there's so many other incredible things on the menu to explore, but this is truly a hearty and unique item worth coming back for.

The food was amazing! Only had one margarita but it was tasty, would have been better with salt…read morebut they forgot it. You will wait for your food so if you're in a hurry plan ahead but in my opinion it was worth the wait! Prices were on point and staff was very friendly.

Now it comes with three tacos, your choice of sauce. As a side you get chips with salsa. Now I am not really familiar with Mexican spices, I can tell you this was really delicious and recommend all to try. Thank you for your support. Until next show be blessed and stay safe. Welcome to the Friday pizza night everyone. Tonight, I am back at a place where you would not really think of getting a pizza. There is a place in Kingston Pa located on Pierce Street called Tirado's Pizza & Mexican Grill. Now a while back I stopped here and tried one of their Mexican dishes, Ill link that video below. Now who would of thought, I didn't, Boy was I impressed, this pizza was really delicious, reminded me of the pizza that I would get years ago back in the 80's, that's how good I thought this was. Now I walked in and grabbed a seat, I was greeted in a welcoming manor where the young man took my drink order as well as bring you some complimentary chips with homemade salsa. The pizza sauce to tasted like a traditional more then a sweet sauce. I would recommend everyone to try this place out. Their menu has something for just about everyone. I will be back to try some more dishes, thank you to the staff here at Tirado's for a great dining experience. I recently stumbled upon a hidden gem in Wilkes Barre that has forever changed my perception of…read moreLatin cuisine - a little cart that serves up the most mouthwatering arepas (not on the menu - $8 and it takes 8 minutes to make) and a wide array of Mexican delights. From the moment I took my first bite, I knew it was authentic. 99% of the customers are Hispanic, and you can also bring your beer and sip it while enjoying the food. They take credit card payments, and you can pay via apple pay, etc. This truck might not catch your eye at first glance, but believe me, it's a culinary treasure waiting to be discovered. These golden, crispy corn arepa pockets are filled with a variety of delectable ingredients that will make your taste buds dance with joy. Order only one because it's filing. The hot sauces that accompany the arepas are okay. Perhaps skip them. We had chicken arepas. They recently raised the price from $6 to $8 per arepa, and my Latin friends were not happy with the price increase but it does take 8 minutes to make them. Their menu features an extensive selection of tacos, burritos, and quesadillas (enough for two meals at $13 per quesadilla), all made with the freshest ingredients. Whether you opt for the succulent carne asada, the zesty al pastor, or the flavorful vegetarian options, you'll be treated to an explosion of flavors that will transport you straight to the streets of Mexico. While we were eating, several Mexican construction workers came for their dinner, as well as some white-non Hispanic patrons who came because the aroma of the food was amazing. Don't expect it to be a 5-star restaurant. As for the ambiance, it's a "hole in the wall." It's a place where the focus is entirely on the food, and that's exactly how it should be. If you're a fan of Latin and Mexican cuisine and find yourself in Wilkes Barre, you simply must try this place. And for those of you who don't speak Spanish, they speak fluent English.

Same with Asada Sope, decent tortillas, beefy, everything chopped neatly and Fresh and Tasty. Same with barbacoa taco, yummy pulled pork. Absolutely loved the melt in the mouth deep fried pork belly accompanied by a large bowl of excellent homemade guacamole. This appetizer was so good, very "moreish". Elote was crispy popping kernels, good cheese, and lightly spiced as requested. Yummo! For dessert were 4 or 5 lovely warm, fragrant churros with 3 scoops of good vanilla ice cream decorated with a rich caramel sauce. Plenty for two at $7.00! around $7 - Drinks were decent and fairly priced. They start a Happy Hour at 4:30om. Great service (we went early around 4pm so it was quiet). Easy parking, close.

A quick google search lead me to La Cantina Amigon. This review is based on both the food and the service. I'm going to start with the service. It was bad. As bad as I had in a while. We were seated for about 10 minutes before any one came up to us. We were seated in the bar and there were only two other tables filled. The bartender even kept apologizing since no one was helping us. We even got our food without any utensils or napkins. Soo.. yeah the service was really bad. Now for the food. The food was excellent. We got chips and guacamole and the chips were hot and very fresh and the guacamole was also freshly made. We also got a chicken quesadilla and a carnitas burrito. The Quesadillas had a Smokey flavor that was excellent. It was different looking than the run of the mill quesadillas I've had before. The burrito was fresh and flavorful and I enjoyed the red and green hot sauces they put on the table. Overall the food was excellent so I see why it received the rating it did in my search. The service needs to be better, but that can be fixed since the food was really good.
