This Cactus Grill location has been around for a LONG time and when I rolled in for lunch with some old friends it really hit me that I hadn't been here since probably high school. That being said, I really had no baseline and no memory of what it was like so I went in with an open mind. Yelp reviews here are all over the place, and it's a local tex mex chain so I felt like the experience could be really just about anything. That being said, I was really happy with my lunch visit! I had a lunch combo of a taco and an enchilada and it hit the spot. The food was hot, tasted great, and came out in a reasonable amount of time. The service was also really friendly and prompt. I wasn't so blown away by the food that I'm craving it now, but would I go back for lunch again soon? Absolutely. Definitely really good tex mex, and reasonable prices for a sit down place.

Veggie fajita

Great food and service. Good quality and quantity. Ambience is very casual which I like. Drinks were ok for the price.

I was THRILLED when the new Cactus Grill location opened in Lenexa, as it's close to my house, but sadly it left the original CG in the dust. I went to lunch at the Leawood location late one afternoon and left disappointed. It took so long time to be greeted at the door we wondered if they were closed. We saw people eating at a few booths so we stuck it out and waited. Once seated we met our server. I won't say he was rude, but he was not friendly-at-all. He never said hello, thank you, or even smiled. I know he had the capability of smiling because I saw him laughing with a coworker. Our food took an unusually long amount of time considering how empty the restaurant was, but I was excited to eat my favorite item on the menu....in my estimation it would be worth the wait. It was not. The crab and shrimp enchiladas I have grown to love at the Lenexa location were honestly disgusting at this restaurant. The shrimp was "shrimpy" and seemed a little undercooked. I didn't eat them. The enchilada itself was swimming in grease. It was all very unappetizing. Thankfully Cactus Grill has incredible chips and salsa and a dynamite Jalapeño margarita that saved the day. After this visit I think I will stick to the newer shinier location instead.

Guacamole Dip

Went here a year ago and it was amazing, the same goes for now. The Guac is delicious and so is the tacos! Service was great too, will be coming back.

We stopped by Catcus Grill for Mothers Day and enjoyed a nice family meal. They had great portions of food for adults and kids. I ordered the fish tacos, fajitas, and three kids' meals. We liked all the food. I do wish the fish tacos just had more flavor. It was missing some kinda sauce that would have made it really pop. The presentation of the plates was excellent. Service was also very good. This place is worth a try.

Extremely happy with this restaurant. The food quality is high and a very robust menu. Everyone is friendly and they have extra large booths for 4-6 people! Enough food for take home left overs. They also have a discount for veterans.

Great service but not one TV is on! It's a Saturday night and Royals vs Cards are playing. Restaurants next door have it on!!!!! Not a great vibe

Party of 5 gals. I couldn't control my obsession with free tortilla chips (Yikes!) FUEL after overconsumption of chips I ordered avocado toast. Surprised they now have brunch items. ATMOSPHERE typical chain restaurant with Tex Mex flair. SERVICE awkward waiter vibe, food arrived quickly. Finally, this chain restaurant was satisfactory. Recommended for regular schmegular folks.

Overall, this is a solid place to eat. Some of the perks include a good happy hour, with $3 for any beer, cocktails $6-7.50, and apps for $8. The complimentary chips and salsa were great, and the quality of the food was good. On the night I went, I sat at the bar, and food service was a little slow. Perhaps that'd be better at a table, but we'd inhaled 2.5 baskets of chips before the food arrived, and a neighboring table got their food well before us. The vibes are not very trendy or unique, but it is definitely family-friendly and clean. Prices are about average for these days. I paid $16 for my entree and my sister paid $14. Would recommend, but it isn't a new favorite.

Nice ambiance, and super Tex-Mex. Frozen Margaritas are great. Unfortunately their best bar tender left.

Delicious food. Best chips and queso I have had in a long time. The signature flautas were perfectly crispy and seasoned.

Don't judge a book by its reviews…read more.. I've done some looking at this place and felt very skeptical coming in. I wasn't even sure if I was going to enjoy myself but boy was I wrong. To start off Rafael, at the front was very funny and made it very comforting. He made conversation with us and was very accommodating. We also received free chips and queso which was my daughter's favorite! The place itself is very calm and just seems like a chill spot to come for a quick eat. I ordered the steak tacos and veggie burrito (which Rafael fixed up for me on regular price with no extra charges for adding fries). We enjoyed our food and had a great time. Everything was delicious and Rafael did a great job on making this a good time for us. I wasn't really a big fan of their horchata but they had other good drinks available. I want to add that I feel like we started receiving special treatment because they realized we were yelpies so I don't know how service is on a regular day. Altogether, I'll be coming back here again!

He told us about the menu and even let us try the horchata before purchasing! The customer service was perfection. That alone would bring me back. I thought the horchata was great but ended up getting the sangria (non alcoholic). The quesobiria was fireeeee and came with grilled onions and a pepper. For 2 tacos, menudo sauce, a drink, onion, and pepper, it was about 10 dollars. That is extremely reasonable! We also enjoyed the interior because it felt home like. My favorite part was the chips and queso, which was the perfect balance of creamy and salty.

I was working so I did door dash, though I'm sure it would be about half the cost to just go in and visit their brick and mortar. I'm going to chalk it up to door dash and not the restaurant but I did have some issue with them giving me an up to date time estimate on my order. It kept saying it was running late and then when I was getting really concerned I just checked the front porch and there it was! Somehow my delivery person missed the front door camera. Regardless of that little snafu the food was still pretty warm and I enjoyed my burrito. These things are BIG - which is nice, and next time I think I'll share it with someone. Think local chipotle vibes, but with some more authentic flavors. I had the barbacoa and it was exactly how I was hoping it would be. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and I'll for sure order again.

This place specializes in seafood in Mexican cuisine perhaps this is the second location there's another location in the downtown, which we have been to, but let's get to how we like this place Food I would say was not amazing but good we didn't like the paella the rice was mushy. It was smelling different because of the clams and oysters that was definitely not fresh. We didn't smell a lot of saffron added to the food the crab meat queso was amazing and we also ordered another Spanish or Mexican shrimp with spicy sauce. That was amazing. The margarita was great.. There was literally one person available in the restaurant who was taking care of the bells bar food any requests coming? We felt a little bad that she didn't have a lot of help but she was super awesome. Very sweet. Took care of us like anything running around everywhere gave a huge tip to her. My waiter was Kara she let me know upfront she had not been working here that long, but she also was pretty knowledgeable and when she didn't know something, she found the answer for me. She was great at helping me find options and she was really nice. Drink: I love that their drinks weren't pre-made I got a ready fire aim with rum (bellows) instead of mezcal and it was really good. Perfect hint of spice and sweetness. The water was really nasty though. Food: Everything is made to order and customizable which is rare. -(6) Grilled chili butter oysters my favorite very great flavor -(6) Grilled Stuffed Oysters this was very different but still good I was nervous about the octopus idk of if I necessarily taste it was a fishy flavor but still great to try. I would probably try it without octopus next time. My waiter suggested using the premade lime mixture to cut the fishy taste and it worked perfectly and I also tried the habanero lime mixture. That's on the table and that tastes good as well it cut the fishiness. -Ceviche tostadas no carrots and light cilantro no (btw this is the Pacifico one): probably the best ceviche I've had and I added the habanero purée and it was perfection.
