Coffee shop at the food court at cactus tours
Yunhea K.

I had the best time . I was skeptical which tour company to book with but the hotel had cactus tours as a recommendation. They have a 3x1 combo where we chose camel ride, horse back ride, and atv ride with free tequila tasting. With that plus the $25 per person entry, I paid $330 altogether which isn't bad at all. I also ended up paying $150 for the private tour which I'm glad we did and paid $50 per person for the automatic atv and it covered insurance as well. Our tour guide was Javier Ochoa and he was amazing. He explained instructions clearly, got us in to meet the baby camel, helped us get pics on our phones. It was the best experience. If you book with Cactus Tours and do a private tour, ask for him.

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD. This place should not even be in business after what we experienced. We showed up at 11 AM for our tour, only to be ambushed with a surprise breathalyzer test because we had drinks the night before. We weren't told anywhere in the booking process that this was part of the "experience," and they acted like we should have known. Both of us passed the legal driving limit for a car, but they still refused to let us drive at all -- not even on the passenger-friendly trails. Instead of offering a refund, rescheduling, or any reasonable solution, they smugly told us we could "just ride as passengers" -- for the exact same price we paid to drive. So we essentially paid hundreds of dollars to sit in the back like luggage while watching other people have the fun we booked. The staff were condescending, unapologetic, and made it clear they had no interest in customer satisfaction. The whole operation feels like a money-grab trap with zero transparency. I've done tours all over the world, and this is the only one where I left feeling scammed. If you value your money, your time, and your dignity, stay far, FAR away from this place.

Looking for an amazing event for yourself, or for a family or group activity for your next corporate event? Well, I found it today in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, along the beautiful Pacific Ocean coastline. Cactus Tours Beach & Desert tour in a 200HP turbo-charged UTV, with amazing guide, Chorri, and owners Ricardo and Mateo. Only 25-30 minutes drive from most all major Cabo hotels and conference centers. You won't be disappointed! #SKO #corporateevents #groups #groupevent #CactusTours #Cabo #CaboSanLucas #WorkLifeBalance #beach #desert #mexico #UTV #ATV #PacificOcean

Avoid This Place at All Costs - Total Rip-Off We booked this tour expecting an exciting Can-Am adventure that we have done well over 10 times. Instead, we got a humiliating and overpriced waste of a morning. When we arrived at 11 AM, they suddenly pulled out a breathalyzer and said we had to blow before driving. No warning about this policy when booking, no mention in the confirmation email, nothing. Because we'd had a few drinks the night before, they told us we couldn't drive at all, even though we were well under the legal limit for operating a car. They didn't offer a refund or even a discount, just told us we could ride along as passengers for the exact same price we paid to drive. The staff were rude, dismissive, and clearly didn't care whether we had a good experience. It felt like they were just looking for an excuse to keep our money without delivering what we paid for. I've done plenty of off-road tours, and this was by far the most unprofessional, customer-unfriendly operation I've ever dealt with. Save yourself the frustration and spend your money somewhere that actually treats guests with respect.

Do not go!!!!!! Thieves!!!!! They are sneaky with all the up charges And then you can't take your phone with you because they want to sell you pictures Everything about this place is a scam STAY AWAY!!!!!

We booked at our hotel. Depending on the type of bike there are upcharge fees (chose wisely upfront) The tour guide was patience and helped the unexperienced. During your ride you will 2 breaks the 1st is under the shade the 2nd is at a restaurant where you can purchase food/drinks and use the restroom. Park fee $25 per person Picture fee $20 per sheet (Personal cameras are not allowed). Go Pros can be used if strapped to your body the entire time. You can also purchase all your pictures on a thumb drive

Thieves!!!! Do not come here !!! They lure you in with a fake price, but once you get there they force all this up charges. We were told it would be $99 for TWO activities per person. We ended up having to pay $160 per person for ONE activity only. We had to pay because they picked us up from our hotel and we were stranded in the middle of nowhere. Save yourselves!

We got our tickets through a third party for $35/ person. I'm glad because all the extra fees would have pissed me off like other reviewers if we didn't feel like our excursion prices weren't pretty decent. Here is total breakdown of what we paid for two people. $40 ($20/person) - Park entrance fee $70 ($35/ person) - Camel Ride $30 - Tip for our guide and assistant $100 - All photos on a flash drive $70 ($35/person) - UTV Ride $45 - UTV full protection insurance $20 - Tip for our instructor $50 (negotiated) - All photos on same flash drive ---------------------------------------------- $425 - Total Excursion Costs for Two People Tip: Pay park entrance fee only once for all activities done in the same day. Our camel guide Chris was very nice and funny, which made the experience a lot of fun. Surprisingly, the camels did not smell bad at all. Riding and taking pictures with the camels was definitely a cool thing. We had a blast doing the UTV and would definitely do it again. Make sure you let them know if you feel like your vehicle doesn't have enough power. We had our first UTV switched out, and the second one was much more fun. The instructor Jackal was very friendly too. The service we received overall was fantastic. Lunch and tequila tasting included with your visit. Tacos and drinks were nothing special, but unlimited. The passion fruit tequila was yummy, so was the coffee. Overall it was a great experience, however, I can see how it can be disturbing to others. Go in with some expectation that they are there to make money. You can't bring your phones, but honestly, you can't take the professional photos from their vantage points either. Just see if you could negotiate a discount like I did. Or just enjoy the fun activities for what they are and forget about the photos. They will live on in your memories for sure. We had a wonderful time.

Overpriced! BEWARE of the following: 1. Combo tour (Camel ride and racer ride) booked for $70 per person with deal we got. (25 minutes on the Camel and 1 hour on the racer.) 2. Park fees are $25 per person. 3. Pictures are $35 per person. We paid $129 for 5 of us and all pictures on a thumb drive. 4. Racer car insurance $45 per car. (You can opt out but then they'll put a hold of $1000 on your credit card until you come back.) 5. You can also have a private party ride (Just your party) for $35 per person, this also includes all pictures. They won't tell you about it until the end of you signing all your paperwork. (If this is what you want, ask for it from the beginning.) 6. They'll ask for tips for the 2 drivers that will pick you up and drop you off from your hotel. 7. The tour guide will also ask for another tip for him at the end of the tour. 8. Cameras are prohibited on the tour. 9. THEY WILL ALLOW GO-PROS if you have one. It just need to be hands free for safety! The experience on the camel and on the racer car were amazing. We had a lot of fun. We were put on a group of about 15 people. Racers car can be 2-Seat and 4-Seats. Camels are 2 per camel! You'll also get to enjoy two tasting size tequila shots per person at the end of the tour. We had a good time, it was just overpriced. And all those fees, we only found them out once we were already there in front of the sales guy! Only reason why it's only a 3 star review. Overpriced and asking tipping for everything!

ATV on a private beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico!
Manny P.

The experience of riding ATVs with family was awesome. We paid extra for a private tour so we can go at our pace and it just further enhances the experience that you know everyone in the group. Our tour guide was kind and friendly, he had our best interest at heart. Spoke English. My advise for future visitors is to negotiate all prices with the sales person AND all the upsell when you are onsite. Also, don't be pressured on giving more than you initially think is fair for tipping.

Highly recommend the private tours Best thing we did on our entire trip !! So much fun and well worth it Darwin was so awesome and made the tour so much fun !! Even stopped at gorgeous spots for us to take pictures

Beach riding

We did a combo tour - camel ride and ATV's. A fun ride, the ATV ride was the best. We cruised the gorgeous coast line and rode on the beach. We had a 2 two seater ATV's and 1 single ATV. My husband and I rode the two seaters and my daughter drove the single. We had a blast. Victor was our tour guide and it was so much fun!

These were the selections at the airport
Jason R.

We met a shark at the airport who offered the deal if we sat thru the timeshare presentation. We did and purchased a time share because it made financial sense with the amount of travel we commit to. The total cost for the horseback riding , atv and dolphin excursion with the entrance fee for the ranch and dolphin rides was 1600$ for 12 people in our party. 6 adults and 6 children. Now back to the ATV experience. We arrived after pickup from the hotel. Tipped driver about 10-20$ for our party of 12. Did the check in process and were offered a bunch of upsells which is expected and a fair thing to do in business . I didn't read the reviews beforehand and the better you tip the better your experience will be : exception if you are an A list celebrity. We declined all upgrades and insurance as we used a credit card and did the hold as most cards have coverage and will fight any issues that arise for you. We first elected to ride the horses and it was great. My horse started eating grass on the route so we got separated. The lead came back and caught me up to the group. 3 in our party decided to ride the camels. It was a fun experience and they did a good job of matching up with rider to horse. Saw the desert then beach area. During the trip another in our party felt sick and threw up once off the horse. They sent a car down to transport him back up. Someone else came and picked up the horse. We got back on the trip. Once there we jumped off the horses and jumped in the transport back up to the main area to get on the atv. We tipped out horse guide and said thanks. We then met the ATV host and they gave a quick tutorial on expectations. We then went on a different route from desert to beach then desert then beach then back up. We were able to open the bikes up on the beach but then another vomiter and a refusal to wear a helmet. They had to switch from a 2 person to 4 person car. They went above and beyond and we tipped them well for this relatively speaking. I think both host were tipped 70-90$ plus 20$ for each photographer. Also bought a bottle of tequila after enjoying the tasting. I would always rather support small business than gigantic corporations like BevMo. Also the workers are working to provide you with a great experience. When in Vegas or LA , I always tip my host that I've done business with for decades.

We were picked up by a driver in a passenger van prior and dropped off after which was great since we knew we would have some cocktails on board the boat. He was great! Very nice and took good care of us. When we arrived, the driver escorted us to the Cabo Adventure center where we were met by one of the crew members and then escorted to the boat following check-in. We walked a short distance to the boat, passing by many vendors and shops who of course chased you down for sales, donations, etc. But all is good, just say no thank you and they leave you alone. We arrived to the boat and were introduced to our captain, and team. Mauricio, Manuel and Derick. All three were very nice. They catered to whatever we requested from drinks, lunch and snorkeling time. When we arrived, they shared we had a photographer taking pictures throughout the day. I was excited as I am usually the one always taking photos so it would be nice to have a photographer taking pictures of our group instead of me. And, to have professional photos would be great! I only snapped a couple of pictures as we boarded because it looked like he was taking a lot of photos of us in front of the arches, hanging on the boat, etc. throughout the afternoon. I also thought the photos were included. They are not. The boat ride was great. Drinks were great. They made cocktails for us. Snorkeling was nice. Views were beautiful. They answered our questions of the area. We have a delicious light lunch of chips and guac, pasta salad, chicken salad and fruit. The staff couldn't be nicer. The photographer is nice. When we arrived back at the center, we were directed to the "photography" area where we quickly learned our photos would be $200! I calmly said let me look at the photos because if they are really that good, I'll pay for great photos. Sadly, they were all just awful! Only 1 decent photo out of 50 or so photos and even that photo needed major editing. Shadows, weird light. We had 2 different group shots. The photos in front of the arches, the top of the arches were cut off! Who cuts off the arches? Not one good picture in front of the arches. They do NOT have professional photographers my friends. Take your own photos. Don't let them convince you otherwise. I still purchased 3 photos as I thought I could use apps to improve them and wanted a memory of our day. $100 for 3 photos. Such a disappointment. I want to give this company 3 stars because of the photo situation but the rest of the experience was great and the photo situation is obviously a personal preference. If I had any photos other than 2, I would share them, TAKE YOUR OWN PHOTOS. Do not let them talk you into their photographer or you will be disappointed and out a lot of money.

Our trainer and instructor Nely was great, important and useful information on safety for both us humans and dolphin Kobe, some general guidelines plus buoyancy jackets and masks brought to us. Kobe is a four year old male, excited to have new friends to show off his talents, and had fun with us and loved his gentle massages. I could've stayed in the water all day but of course couldn't .. Nely taught how to get Kobe to spin, be a shark zooming to us, blowing underwater rings, and other tricks. Best morning experience coming here. There are lockers as you're not allowed to keep jewelry, watches, earrings and such on while in with the dolphins; NO sunscreen either, but call and ask about reef safe sunscreen when you book if it's ok: I believe the policy is absolutely none. We don't want to unwittingly harm the dolphins when hugging ! I suggest you book direct with them as opposed to through your hotel or other agencies. While waiting to be escorted to the pool there's some chairs and tables in the shade near the lockers, after you check in. Inside you can have sandwiches and some other snacks, beer, sodas and such; also a selection of T-shirts, sweatshirts rashguards, hats, and lots of dolphin plushies.

The package we purchased also included a tequila tasting at the end. The tequila tasting was only for the adults. We were picked up from our hotel by the G-Force bus on-time. We packed it in, and I was given the control to the music on the way to their headquarters. From Cabo San Lucas it was approximately :45 minute drive so good music was essential. When we finally arrived at the location we had to check everyone in, pay, get fitted for our helmets, and had a safety meeting prior to heading on our 2-hour adventure. The experience was awesome, but I would definitely recommend prior experience on the ATV even though it's not necessary. The instructor does like to go fast and there are a lot of turns, bumps and hills. It will also be very dusty, so bring a face covering, or purchase one at the check-in lobby. One of the ATV's gears was slipping on the hills, so after a few mishaps, we had to wait until they exchanged the ATV's out. That took an extra :20 minutes, but thankfully we were reimbursed for the ATV. The best part of the ride was the beach. After riding through nothing but hills you feel free! Although one is not able to pass, or get out of line, the temptation is there. Believe me if you horseplay and don't follow the rules, they will not hesitate to pull you to the side. Once you get back and dust yourself off you can grab your belongings from the lockers you were provided at check-in and head on over to see the pictures!! A few of the crew members follow you around your adventure, in order to capture this memorable experience. After we got our pictures, we headed over to the tequila table for our adult tasting. The tequila presentation was exceptional. We were given a backstory on the tequila they produce locally. There had a few different types, but the chocolate liquor flavor seemed to be the popular one. All of the tequilas were flavorsome. The bottles were available for purchase after the :30 minute tasting. If your a tequila lover, I highly recommend it. Overall our group of 13 were completely satisfied with our adventure. The same driver took us back to our hotel, and even did us the favor of dropping us off in downtown for some tacos. We were repeat customers after an initial positive experience in May 2022 while now in December 2025 enduring random overcharges on unitemized receipts! A total of 4 of us booked a reservation through Amstar at Cactus Tours for the side by side UTVs (2 vehicles of 2 drivers and 2 passengers). Amount paid in full to Amstar a month in advance excluding the $25USD cash entry fee per person which we paid day-of. Also on day-of, we were offered upgrade options. The only option we proceeded with was to upgrade each vehicle 1 horsepower level up which was listed as $85 USD per vehicle for a total of $170 USD.  This was also explained to us that upgrading to that vehicle power meant insurance was included so no need for additional insurance purchase or security hold on the card. We declined ALL other upgrade options.  No private tour, no higher vehicle power upgrade beyond the 1 level up, NOTHING else. We provided a credit card and the staff member took the card for the transaction.  Again, the staff member insisted on upgrading to a private tour but we declined (which we later realized was because they didn't have any other parties booked at our time so it inevitably became a private tour anyway, they just hoped to get more $$ for it). He ran the card and handed us the receipt while rushing to direct us away to the locker area. Later upon arrival back to our hotels, we finally had a moment to review the receipt for the upgrade charges and saw it was actually charged $7,200 MXN (about $400 USD) with no itemization.  This isn't inclusive of any transaction or currency conversion fees, that is the amount directly on the receipt. This is DRASTICALLY way more than the upgrades we agreed to with no explanation or breakdown. Despite saying otherwise in other review replies, their website is not transparent in charges as the "upgrade" sheets they have in the lobby show charges differently than the website displays. The charge in MXN should have been roughly $3,060. I was overcharged $4,140 MXN, more than double what the true upgrade charge should have been alone. I went back and forth for days with Cactus Tours via calls and emails until after a week they finally stopped answering me completely. I'm in the process of filing a fraudulent chargeback with my credit card company since Cactus Tours chose to ignore my attempts for an amicable refund of the difference. Be VERY aware of all charges and do NOT let them rush you day-of at check-in without doublechecking everything if you still choose to do any activity at Cactus Tours. The tour guides will now also insist it is customary to tip $50 per vehicle at the end of the tour. This tip pressure did not exist in 2022. An additional $50 tip on top of the $25 per person entrance fee, any upgrade charges, plus initial reservation fees is wild.

I contacted them to cancel multiple times more than 24 hours in advance of our scheduled tour, but they refused to refund our money. Their refund policy states that I should get back 80%, but it's been months and I haven't received anything. They probably would have had to cancel the tour because of the weather anyway. Don't use this company!

We booked a private tour for 6 people on the Roger's website, and we were coming in on a cruise…read moreship with an overnight stop in Cabo. Knowing it's a 20 minute walk from the place where the cruise ship tender drops you off to the place where the tour boats dock, we decided to scout it out the night before. The email from the company instructed us to check in at the Roger's office ("kiosko 2") to ensure we got the correctly-fitting snorkeling gear, so we went looking for the office using a map from the Roger's website and Google maps. We tried inputting the exact address from the email and asking everyone we could find at Puerto Paraiso mall, but when we went to the alleged office location, nothing was there. As a last ditch effort, on the way out of the mall, we paused and asked a random guy at a booth with ads for tours (mind you, nowhere did it say Roger's on it)! This booth was NOT located in the same spot indicated in the map on the Roger's website. However, this guy was somehow able to look up our reservation, and it was legit because he knew my name even though I never said it. He told us to just meet at the dock the next day - not to even worry about going to the "office" (wherever it may be). So that's what I would advise any future travelers to do - just go to Dock D, which isn't hard to find. Ahead of time, I had emailed the company and asked if I could add additional people to our tour and how to pay for them. I received a response indicating we would need to pay 35 per person and they could either send me a PayPal account to put the money in, or we could pay at the dock. When we got on the boat, we inquired about the two extra people and were told to pay 40 dollars. Thankfully I had the email from the company and I disputed this. I was given a roundabout explanation about how the corporate office is somewhere else in Mexico and sometimes there's miscommunication. This felt like an attempt to con more money out of us, but to their credit, they did honor the emailed price. The tour itself was great. We had Jonathan as the guide and Memo as the boat driver. Jonathan had great English skills and was knowledgeable. Our kids got to drive the boat, which had them laughing hysterically. They also dropped a couple members of our party off to snorkel in a designated spot, and the snorkel gear they provided seemed nicer than the cheap stuff we brought. At the end, they offered to drop us off closer to the cruise ship to help us avoid the 20-minute walk, but said it would be a $2 dock fee per person. We did take them up on that, as we had small kids in the party and didn't want them to have to do the walk in the hot sun. They do take pictures during the tour and offer you the chance to buy them at the end. Technically this is mentioned on the website, so it's not surprising. However, I will note that they offered us a discount on the photos at the end if we left them a review - lowering the price from 80 to 50 dollars. So, take that into account when you read other reviews. We declined. I recall when I was researching tour options that some other customers had mentioned their tours being outsourced to other people. There is definitely something odd with the "company." It presents itself on its website like a small business and frequent references are made to "our boat." But when you get to the dock, nothing says "Roger's" - no signage, no uniforms, etc. There's also more than one boat - another party was checking in at the exact same time as we were with the same people. It's almost like they've been bought out by a bigger conglomerate of tour operators. Perhaps this explains the conflicting information in some spots (i.e., the email confirmation saying to check in early at an office but a guy at a random kiosk that doesn't say Roger's on it somehow having our reservation and telling us to just go to the dock). Overall, we enjoyed the tour itself, but the issues with finding the location and being asked to pay different fees than we were quoted were off-putting.

So we had booked this as part of a larger excursion with our resort. We were to take a glass bottom…read moreboat to the Arch, do some snorkeling near Pelican Rock, then continue with tequila tasting & shopping. While I am a good swimmer & have snorkeled before, a storm had just come through & we were so concerned our trip would be cancelled. We get to the boat to discover we are the only ones on board since a cruise ship diverted due to the storm. Capt Lupe was very safety conscious & Daniel was great but the star of the show was Shaggy. This guy is a true expert. The water was choppy but his knowledge, corny jokes & attention to detail plus the 1:1 service made my snorkeling adventure perfect. He was patient, aware the rough water was a bit unnerving, took every precaution & went at my pace. I felt 100% safe, informed of each step & I guess pampered is a good word. While the water was not super clear, he found the fish & took a ton of pictures, which he sent to me as part of his fee. All in all, I would highly recommend Shaggy for anyone, especially those who want someone to take the time to make the day special, safe & fun! Shaggy, if you see this - Thank you!!

I booked this excursion through Shore Excursion Group. The reviews were mixed but I took a chance…read moreand I'm so glad that I did! Check in was quick. There were only 4 of us on this tour. I honestly don't know why. We had to pay $1USD at the marina gate. The boat is small but looks newer. The glass bottom were 2 rectangular shaped window to the bottom at the middle of the boat. You don't see much as the boat moves. Our guide, Carlos did a great job of safety briefing. He also did a great job of explaining everything. The title of the your is Pelican Rock Snorkeling but we did plenty of sightseeing around the rock. The snorkeling though was the highlight! I'm not a swimmer. I'm terrified of drowning. Carlo was close to me throughout. He brought a life ring along which I held onto for dear life plus I had a life vest on! We saw so many fishes, stingrays, eels and barracuda. He brought food to feed the fish. It was the most amazing thing! Plus, he brought a go pro with him and took pictures of us. He didn't charge us to download it onto our phones! After the snorkeling we went around and visited the Arch. He also gave us sandwiches, chips and drinks. The price we paid for all this was reasonable. I still don't know why we only had 4 people on this tour! Esperanza is truly a hidden gem.
