The ONLY store within miles of this campsite. The store was of a good size, fully stocked with everything and anything you could possible ever need for a fun and relaxing camping trip. The employees were all very friendly and helpful Prices were definitely on the higher end for even the most basic items but what choice do we have when SOMEONE (me!) forgot to bring the cheese for our group's cheeseburgers. I love this store. It has everything you might need in case you forget to bring it. They have sleeping bags, lanterns, s'mores sticks, fishing bait, and plenty of souvenirs! They have Ice and an amazing selection of beer for a lake store. The first time I came here they ran out of wood by the evening but I haven't had any issue since then. 8/26/23- Stopped for gas and some snacks. Very over priced but hey we're on vacation, it's expected. What was not expected was get verbally yelled at by the blonde haired attendant. Apparently we weren't allowed to use the restroom? Not only did she yell at us across the store in front of a ton of customers when we walked out -but also banged on the door when I was washing my hands and OPENED THE BATHROOM DOOR. I totally get trying to keep out unwanted weirdos from a bathroom, but we are paying customers. Why yell? Why be insulting and inappropriate by opening a door to a literal bathroom? We will never be returning, spending money, or time here. There are so many different ways to communicate to your patrons then what we experienced. They seriously need to address this with her. They will lose customers due to this type of bad behavior. read more

Great place to shop! Very convenient it's within the park and just a short walk or bike ride away. They have coolers with drinks and frozen food and ice. There's a coffee and hot chocolate machine. There's also a variety of nick knacks to remember your visit to the lake...hats, coffee cups and lots of other great souvenirs There's even fishing goods to select and of course friendly and very knowledgeable cashiers! A great general store to have at the campgrounds of Lake Cachuma -- you'll find this off to the side close to the entrance.The employees I did come into contact with were pleasant and nice. ---What they carry & Prices--- The store carries everything under the sun and more. Truly, if you need/want something, they probably have it. Some pictures I took should showcase just the many of the items they carry. Here's a list of just some: - Food wise : Eggs, bacon, meats, cheese, hot dogs, various grab and go items like sandwiches, butter and margine for cooking and such - Snacks: Candies, chips, beef jerky, nuts and various other items you would find at a market -Beverages: Juices (orange), naked smoothies, milk, water, flavored waters, iced teas, chocolate milk, Starbucks frappuccinos, v8juices, sodas, tonic water, club soda, lemonades, rootbeer, energy drinks, sports drinks, beer and wine, wine coolers. -Misc beverage and food items: Half and half, coffee creamers, whipped cream -Toys, games, footballs, soccerballs -Sunglasses, various clothing items (hats included) -Ice, firewood, marshmallow sticks to make smores....and so much more! Everything you could possibly need all in one convenient location. I've camped at Cachuma countless times and as much as I feel I've packed my whole life into my vehicle, there's always an item or two forgotten. Sure, I could drive into Santa Ynez which is 10-15 miles away, but WHY? Just walk here and you're good to go. This particular store has remained practically the same for as long as I can remember. It's very simple but ample in size and has all of the essentials of a convenience store with an emphasis on camping necessities. Beer, eggs, meat, baking goods, ice, gasoline, some pre-made entrees, propane, general groceries, random little souvenirs - you've come to the right spot. Pricing really isn't bad for the overall convenience factor of it all. Check them out if you're ever camping at Cachuma. Even if you packed everything, go on and treat yourself to something special. read more

If you are camping near the site, and forgot to bring the essential items for camping, you have the cachuma lake store near by. They have wood lodges for your camp fire and other essentials. I think they also sell frisbees since they have frisbee golf available for visitors. I give a four since the price is a bit higher than other places but it's pretty expected to be higher price. I called prior to heading out toe cachuma to make sure we get there before closing hours. What it says on google and yelp were different so its best to call to verify. We had a great weekend camping at Cachuma Lake this weekend and this store was one of the highlights. It had everything we needed, things we didn't know we needed and and plenty off stuff just to buy for fun. I probably made 3-4 trips per day, so many that my family started teasing me about it. But there was so much good stuff and very reasonable prices I couldn't help myself. The staff was friendly and helpful (as was everyone we encountered). If we go back to Cachuma Lake in the future, this store will be a big reason why. read more

Great spot for your last min items including gas ! Store prices r just like any 7 11 or AM PM, except they have more stuff. Gas station is a bit run down n small, but again prices were very reasonable. The staff moves a bit slow, but very friendly. Glad they have this place. read more

I'm so happy that the General Store is on Yelp. I have been camping at Cachuma Lake for over twenty years and I have become very familiar with this store. The General store has every thing you could need for your campsite. They have everything from soda, chips, cookies, candy, marsh mellows, graham crackers, cans of chili, eggs, cheeses, bacon, etc. They also have propane and fire wood. The prices at the store are great. They are the same that you would find at any corner liquor store. The main reason I wanted to rate this store is because I know the man who owns and runs the store. I was reading a review below about how the man who works there is very friendly and will just strike up a conversation with you. When I read that it made me smile. His name is Tom and he is a wonderful person. I have known him for many many years. He makes everyone he meets feel like a friend. He even came to my family's Halloween party this past October. If your ever up at the lake on a camping trip and you run out of something make sure you check to see if the General store has what you need before you make that ten minute drive into town. We have all come to expect to pay an arm and a leg for last minute items we forgot or just didn't have room to bring on a camping trip.. We dread that trip to the "general store" forking over 10 dollars for a bag of ice.. We have nightmare paying a kidney for some dried up wood that someone chopped up just the right size so that it burns out in all but 5 minutes.. Well.. IT says "new management" outside.. What a surprise Lake Cachuma General store has been on this last camping trip. Not only are they better stocked with things that you actually would need and use, but the prices are surprisingly average. pretty much the same price i would pay at my neighborhood Ralph's. and that really deserves a WOW! So whether it be some Graham crackers, marshmallows and hershey chocolate bars for an impromptu smores session, or 5 bundles of wood you didn't want to put in your truck since it would kill your gas mileage, not to mention dirty up the back, or just a fresh pair of batteries for toy.. err I mean that flashlight.. be confident that you will not be gouged here like a tourist in Disneyland. read more

Its been at least a year since i walked into a small store somewhere, and had a conversation with the person who worked there. You know like people did back when people were nice to each other? Or maybe just in rural places where people are nice to each other... Anyway this is one of those places. This is a great country general store. Its small, sells as much crappy tourist trap stuff as it does wood for fires and marshmallows to roast on the wood you just bought. The proprietor is a very friendly guy, and its nice to once in a while talk to a stranger like they are a human. Its there basically to cater to the camper, with hotdogs, wood, and some varied other camping essentials like ice-cream and beer. read more

This store was perfect! We forgot a few things for our camping trip and they had it all. The hours are from 8am - 8pm. Rather than bringing your eggs and bacon, you can buy them when they open and fry them up. They have wood, tent stakes & feminine hygiene stuff. They are friendly and I like that they give you reusable bags (maybe they charged me, but I didn't notice). Super friendly too. Important: They don't gauge you on the prices either, so I bought more stuff. :-) read more

Very well stocked general store with just about anything you'd need while camping ... firewood, ice, beer, mittens ... huh? Yup. Won't be needing those right now in June and definitely not in July or August! Anyway, the prices were actually much better than I expected. Two kids running it when we got there and no one else inside at the moment. We grabbed some drinks and sat outside and watched all the people from the campground drive up and get one supply or another. Pretty standard store though with a whole section dedicated to extra items like games, sleeping bags, lanterns, kites, water balloons, etc. You won't need to go into town. read more

They charge a premium for the camping essentials because they can. But at least they have everything you need. During the summer it's hot there and you can't camp with a freezer unless you have a trailer or motor home. Icecream and popsicles were the essentials we needed and I gladly paid the $1.25 each for them. I also bought Ice for the cooler, toys for the kids and candy to bribe them with, I mean reward them with. There's no bathroom here so you have to take your chances at one of the camp bathrooms. read more

Despite my terrible stay, the one decent thing about this trip was encountering the two female employees who ran the cashiers, they both displayed such hospitality and kindness.
