I've been getting gel manicures for many years, so I know what us ladies have come to expect. Both of my usual local go-to places were booked up for days, but I was at lunch just a few minutes from Cachet Nail Spa and they were able to schedule an appointment for me with a couple of hours notice, so I figured I would try them out based on the strong reviews. Disappointing experience. The color selection for gel polish that had matching colors for regular polish (I still prefer regular polish for my pedicure) was very limited. Mostly nude or brown shades, so I went with white. My cuticles weren't pushed back in my pedicure, "no frills" beyond polish removal, a quick rinse of my feet and new polish put on. I was even asked to turn off the massage chair, so I couldn't even enjoy a few minutes of relaxation before the nail tech was already applying the new polish. No leg scrub, no hot towel, certainly no massage of any sort. She did use a disposable liner in the pedicure tub. The gel manicure was even more disappointing. Some nails came out with air bubbles in the polish and multiple nails have chipped in less than one week. I had to trim my nails short just to keep my nails looking somewhat tidy until next week. I'm also not totally convinced that their tools are autoclaved or even sanitized. It doesn't cost much for these places to offer single-use, disposable nail files/buffers. Just because a cuticle trimmer is in a pouch doesn't mean it is actually sanitized using an autoclave - I unfortunately find that to be very common in many nail salons. For $75, I would expect my gel manicure to hold up a little better and for the pedicure to at least include the normal standards. I'll wait for my usual places to get me in next time and won't be returning here. P.S.: The woman next to me had an appointment and was told that they didn't have enough time to do her pedicure, making her come back another day for that, even though there wasn't anyone else waiting. read more

I've been in search of a place that can do the nail art I find on Pinterest. There are no specialty places around me so I've been searching for a nail salon that can give me some of the blingy flair I'm going for. And I've found it! I've tried several of the places on PGA Blvd. Cachet doesn't have the fancy pedi chairs with the iPads (massage chairs are still decent) but I always get the best service here! I show them a picture of what I'm going for and they do their best adaption. I do liquid gel and a lot of the "now" stuff is for next gen so This was my second visit to Cachet Nails and I will be going again and again. The pictures I've posted don't even do justice to how beautiful my nails look in person! Last week one of my nails broke a few days after I came in. I called to get it fixed. They took me right away and fixed it NO charge.... I even had to sneak a few dollars tip to the tech who fixed my nail because the manager wouldn't let me leave it! This is also one of the few nail salons that is actually good about keeping appointment times. For a person with a tight schedule, it's so nice to have a salon that even acknowledges you had an appointment. My first appointment I made I was running late because I got stuck at the draw bridge. The salon actually called me after about 5 minutes asking where I was. Yesterday the manager and one of the technicians stayed late to finish my nails. I've had my dip nails dip three times with different techs. All three were good. This last time I had them done with Richard. He was good and thorough. I made an appointment for only him. Y tu get use Nugem dip. I like it better than gels. It lasts and it's better on your nails. A little more expensive. But you pay what you get for. read more

I will start by saying this is not my usual salon but one of the only ones open on the Memorial Day holiday while I was in town visiting family. It had good reviews so I was excited to try it. My bad for being impatient and for not checking prices before going. With that being said, this salon is over-priced and the quality sucks!! I paid $70 for a simple gel full set with a sticker on ring fingers before tip. It was not even that big of a deal because I chose to get the service done until not even a DAY LATER, 3 nails pop off my left hand. My sets usually last 3-4 weeks. Not to mention, one of the technicians fell asleep in the massage chair and was snoring throughout the duration of my service. I would have gone back to complain if I was still in town but I cannot now. Very disappointed. Way better places in town that won't rob you of money. read more

I had my nails done at Cachet a few days ago. Suri was very pleasant and meticulous and was making sure that it turned out pretty/exactly what I wanted instead of rushed through like others. She was very nice and was engaged the whole time. Love the light sparkle pink she helped picked out. I often get the coffin shaped short. I told her that I tend to break my nails often due to stress of work so I tend to pick at my nails and tapping (sometimes a little too rough) but she understood so she made sure that it is 2 more coats thicker. The whole visit did start off a little awkward when I walked in because no one said hi to me but the services turned out great so overall I'm happy. Overpriced can get the same quality for $20 less anywhere else. Liquid gel fill is usually $45 for a plain color fill here I was continuously charged 60 and up for a FILL. 2nd time I'm charged ridiculously high amount for services that you can find anywhere. A la carte prices for a not so high end place and disappointed with the finished product - thick and lumpy. Instead of suggesting a better way (that makes the tech business smart) she goes against her protocol and this is what I was told, "we do what the customer wants" is really not a smart response. Since when does a customer know how or what product is best to use and use together to complete the work successfully? You're the professional! Act like one and take your customers seriously and don't take advantage of their money, make the recommendation and don't wait tell the customer after the fact, what the cost will be. Bad move. You only loose a customer that way. Most customers will appreciate the recommendation. Yes, there are exceotions to the rule but you have to try first. I would have given this salon a 5 star but I feel I was taken advantage of. Now I have to make the time to file down the thickness myself. Maybe this is why this nail salon is not busy and short of staff. read more

I started going to Cachet because I followed my nail technician from another salon. I love my Vanessa! I also experienced Eli for nexgen and he was equally amazing. I was a nail technician for 10 years and though I do not work in the business anymore I am very up to date in all the new things that come up in the nail industry. I have been in the business for close to 18 years. I have had my last service at Cachet today! I went in to get a pedicure and manicure with my girl and brought my own base, color and top coat. Cachet charges more for this polish and they wanted to charge me $20 to use my own polish. The application of this polish does not require any more time than a regular nail polish, what a regular person is paying for is the fact that the polish stays on longer. This place did a crappy job. After filing and bugging my nails, the tech started to apply the polish... right over all the nail filings which created bumps. I made her fix it and there were still some bumps. I showed a picture of the color I wanted and got something totally different. I've never tried Nexgen, but most of the other customers came in for that and they always left happy. $56 for a gel manicure & basic pedicure combo. My first time was fine without issue but my polish chipped the same week. Second time I asked for a specific design that my technician confirmed she had done plenty of times in the past. When the time came it was obvious she had no idea what she was doing. After several failed attempts I left with a beige manicure without the gold accents. The sign says no tip on credit cards, but they'll let you do it in a bind. read more

I would give them a better rating, but today I was a little ticked off about how I was treated. I had a 2 pm appointment for my gels to be removed and a regular manicure scheduled. The soaking of the gels takes maybe 5 minutes. 10 at the most. However, my nail tech went to do a polish change on another customer while i was sitting there. 15 minutes later i said something to the girl who looked to be managing the place because my nail beds were burning from the soaks being on too long. I asked her if it was the usual practice of the salon to take another customer while the first one is sitting in the chair. She said thats the policy when the gels are being soaked off. I have been doing gel manicures for years and never had any salon do that to me. When she told me to 'relax', I almost took her out. lol Seriously, I am not paying them to sit there while they work on another client. I so miss the nail salons in New Jersey that cater to the customer, give massages while the polish dries and give gel manicures that last longer than 9 days.
