I've been getting gel manicures for many years, so I know what us ladies have come to expect. Both…read moreof my usual local go-to places were booked up for days, but I was at lunch just a few minutes from Cachet Nail Spa and they were able to schedule an appointment for me with a couple of hours notice, so I figured I would try them out based on the strong reviews. Disappointing experience. The color selection for gel polish that had matching colors for regular polish (I still prefer regular polish for my pedicure) was very limited. Mostly nude or brown shades, so I went with white. My cuticles weren't pushed back in my pedicure, "no frills" beyond polish removal, a quick rinse of my feet and new polish put on. I was even asked to turn off the massage chair, so I couldn't even enjoy a few minutes of relaxation before the nail tech was already applying the new polish. No leg scrub, no hot towel, certainly no massage of any sort. She did use a disposable liner in the pedicure tub. The gel manicure was even more disappointing. Some nails came out with air bubbles in the polish and multiple nails have chipped in less than one week. I had to trim my nails short just to keep my nails looking somewhat tidy until next week. I'm also not totally convinced that their tools are autoclaved or even sanitized. It doesn't cost much for these places to offer single-use, disposable nail files/buffers. Just because a cuticle trimmer is in a pouch doesn't mean it is actually sanitized using an autoclave - I unfortunately find that to be very common in many nail salons. For $75, I would expect my gel manicure to hold up a little better and for the pedicure to at least include the normal standards. I'll wait for my usual places to get me in next time and won't be returning here. P.S.: The woman next to me had an appointment and was told that they didn't have enough time to do her pedicure, making her come back another day for that, even though there wasn't anyone else waiting.

I could understand a few things they said ridiculing them laughing at what they said to them over the phone. I felt the nail tech tried to just get me out of there as soon as possible. She was super gluing all of my skin to the bottom of my nails. I wish I got her name. I went in for an acrylic set with my friend they seemed to rush us into the seats I was very confused. The woman asked what I wanted I showed her a photo and she just grabbed my hands and started sanding the tops of my nails off lol. I told the nail tech I specifically did not want gel because I knew it costed more money, she proceeded to put gel on ALL of my nails. I didn't realize until she had me put my hand under the gel curing light. Both mine and my friend's nails were NOT worth 130$. The nails are so misshapen, the nail tech did a terrible job with my polish and it is hardened. There is no fixing where she over painted my nails and there is spots on my nail that aren't even painted! My nails are different lengths. She didn't bother to push my cuticles back or give me a massage like the other clients inside of the store. I would definitely not visit this place again I am extremely disappointed with the service! I shouldn't have given them a tip. I am extremely unhappy with my nails.

I really wanted to like the place but I'm pretty disappointed. I was in the area and needed to get…read moremy nails done and thought I'd try this place out. It's right next to the Wellington mall and very clean when you walk in. I spoke to who I presume is the owner and asked for a quote of a dip manicure with extensions and coffin shape and regular pedicure. She gave me a price that was reasonable and said for the coffin shape it'll be an additional $5 for that shape. Okay again all fine and makes sense. Then when I ask for OPI dips they said that they only carry 3 shades, I believe it was funny bunny, bubble bath and something else. I should've already taken it as a bad sign that they don't even carry shades of the most common nail polish brand in the market. She was pushing for this other brand I have not heard of and I normally stick to OPI but I decided to let it go and try this new one since she only had 3 shades of OPI. But very odd to not really carry OPI the to begin with. I got my pedicure first. While I was getting the pedicure done from another staff member, the lady comes back to me and says so you want a short coffin shape? I said well yeah on the shorter side because I have kids. She then suddenly says it's going to be an additional $5 dollars on top of the $5 extra she already quoted before. Again seems a little weird to add again after already discussing nails and pricing but I let it go. She then tried to push for me to get a gel x instead which I told her I don't want or and was not going to get done because I'm strongly against UV lighting that is required to cure in gel. That's the reason I get dip manicures because you don't need UV light to get a dip. I had a full conversation with her about it and that with my dip I don't want the UV light. I also mentioned how my nails easily break with the dip in passing sometimes. Anyway I get done with my pedicure and everything went smoothly at first with my dip manicure. Then I needed to wash my hands and apply the top coat. I came back from washing my hands and next thing I know she had the uv light out and was ready to cure my nails. I reminded her again that I didn't want to do that and dip manicures don't need that. She got very dismissive at this point and said no we don't do that here, we only do dips with the uv light. After I had this whole discussion with her when I was getting my pedicure done I'm confused why now suddenly she says they don't do that here even though it's standard dip practice to not cure/use a UV light. Then I'm like can you do something else? Then she says I can maybe apply this regular top coat. I then ask her will that work? She's like I don't know. She's seems to feel like she's experimenting for it at this point. And acting dismissive. Then she does it and she says that I have to air dry my nails as they don't have any drying fans in the salon. How does a nail salon not have ANY drying fans? People even get regular manicures and they need to dry the nails. So I ended up waiting for my nails to AIR DRY. I think I spent over 2hrs for this appointment. Then the lady said pretty rudely to me no wonder your nails don't last. She said that all because I didn't want to UV light a manicure that doesn't normally need it?! I've had plenty of good techs not uv/cure my nails and last the standard 2-3 weeks. If you google it, it is standard practice that dip manicures do not need UV and curing. You can if you want to but normally you don't. And the salon seemed to be missing the tools/supplies needed to do it the normal way which is so strange to me. Anyway now after getting all this stuff done I look at my feet and there's still cracks and dryness everywhere and now my dip nails are hurting as I type. The color is already fading off slightly and I know they will come off very soon. Anyway I'm definitely not going back. I need someone willing to work with me and listen especially when I'm requesting something that is normally standard practice.

I ended up doing the zero gravity "dry" pedicure which was $70 and paid $30 more for an additional 15 minute massage because the normal massage with this pedicure is only 5 minutes (which IMO is ridiculous) however I was excited to try a "dry pedicure". I selected my color from the book they gave me and she did a fabulous job with my entire pedicure. When it came to being charged my total rang up as $120- and I had a 15% off for being a first client. I looked and saw $70 for pedicure $30 for massage and then an additional $20 charge. When I asked what the $20 was for she said the "organic nail polish" I was immediately upset because $20 up charge is OUTRAGEOUS for a specific nail polish and I told them that- I buy dazzle dry on Amazon for that same price for an entire bottle. She asked if I was informed during my pedicure of this extra charge and I said no, I wasn't. I feel bad and I don't want the woman who did my pedicure to be in trouble because there was a huge language barrier and maybe I just didn't understand her. But I honestly can't believe people pay that extra $20 just for a nail polish to be used one time on them. The woman who rang me up- I believe the manager she did refund me the $20 since I was upset and unaware of this charge from the get go, I truly appreciate that level of customer service and making it right. I will be back because I did love my service but I will be much more cautious of what I get and the fees associated.
