She may also pick students to help out with the younger children! I'm gonna take tap and jazz/hip hop this fall with my friend, and maybe ballet and contemporary! Classes are cheaper than other dance studios! My mom doesn't have to pay a lot of money for me to take classes! Parents can also look through the windows through the doors to watch their children! Unlike some other studios. You can always take your child for a treat at the bakery next door :) A Burger King is also near by if you're hungry! Fancy Feet is so convenient! Look at the awards on the walls - a bunch of 1st place awards from Starbound, Jump, etc. If you go into competition team, you may even meet the girls from Dance Moms Fancy Feet has performed at Disney, The Olympic Village, and much much more! I totally recommend this Dance Studio!

After two years at Reveal, I can honestly say that recital day was the final straw…read more Parents were required to leave their children backstage for approximately four hours. At one point, I simply wanted to check on my daughter and make sure she was okay. Instead of being treated with respect, I was dismissed by a staff member who loudly said, "Somebody come get her," as if I was causing a problem for wanting to see my own child. As a paying parent, I found that incredibly rude and unprofessional. Looking back, if I had seen the condition my daughter was in at that moment, I would have absolutely freaked out. She later came out for her second dance looking completely disheveled, with her hair undone and appearing as though no one had checked on her. We were told the children would be supervised and performance-ready, but that clearly was not the case. What upset me even more was learning that my daughter had asked to use the bathroom and was not taken. She ultimately ended up wetting herself. No one contacted us to let us know, no one explained what happened, and no one communicated with our family. Then, during pickup, my family was told that no one knew where my daughter was. For several terrifying minutes, we genuinely believed our child was missing. We were running around the venue in a panic, only to later find out someone had taken her to the bathroom. A simple conversation could have prevented that fear. The facility itself left much to be desired. The children's bathroom was often dirty, with an old step stool by the sink and oversized containers of dish soap that were difficult for young children to use independently. The recital also raised serious concerns about the overall quality of the program. After spending thousands of dollars on tuition, costumes, recital fees, and private lessons, I expected a higher standard of instruction and professionalism. Watching the adult performances only reinforced my concerns. If I had seen those performances before enrolling, I would have looked elsewhere for dance training. Parents trust dance studios with their children and their hard-earned money. They deserve proper supervision, communication, professionalism, and quality instruction. Unfortunately, after two years at Reveal, that was not my experience, and I cannot recommend this studio to other families.

I turn 45 in March and that makes it TRIPLY hard to make friends. It took finding a Groupon in December to get the proverbial ball rolling, but my mental hygiene has improved immensely. Jennifer is a wonderful teacher, and I appreciate how she encourages you to assert yourself. I'm still VERY basic, but I'm happy to stay in my lane and keep showing up because my end goal is to cultivate community and feel more at home in my new hood. The CEO did not intervene and remained silent, and the parent of the student involved was not contacted until I addressed the issue myself. This dance studio struggles with communicating what respecting one another or accountability looks like as the unkind child still attends the dance school. It's not a coincidence that a few reviews on here mention the bullying issue and it going unaddressed. This led our family to move to a studio with clearer expectations for respect, accountability, and an age-appropriate classroom structure. Additionally, when families first join the company, new dancers are not allowed to perform during their first year. Parents are told this is because they are new and should observe the more experienced dancers, with the expectation that they will perform in their second year. However, families are still required to attend competitions and pay the associated fees for competitions even though their child does not perform. After doing some research, I learned that spectators are generally not required to pay these types of fees to simply watch competitions. As a result, the policy felt confusing and difficult to understand, especially since families are contributing financially to a competition team their child is part of but does not participate in competition dances during their first year.

I saw Shirley Bassat name mentioned in some negative reviews - I love her! It took a while to get used to her style, but she actually corrects your position, and is warm and caring behind a strict surface. If you have some tolerance of being called out in front of a class, you can make so much progress with her. I also want to mention Vanessa's Pilates classes during the weekend. I've been to many Pilates before, but her class is ADDICTIVE. She tailors the class to everyone there, and remembers everyone's strength, weakness, and goals. She uses different props for each student to make sure even the same move will be most effective for each person on their fitness/ dance journey. She also has a great sense of humor to make challenging classes pass by quickly. The classes are packed and somehow everyone gets individual attention and enough space/ room to practice comfortably.

Another friend had taken classes at this academy before and highly recommended it, so the three of us booked an Introduction to Ballet class on Sunday at 12:00. Check-in was quick and easy. The class was $25 for an hour and a half, which I think is very reasonable considering it's from an actual ballet school. There's no strict dress code, which worked out well since none of us owned ballet attire -- we just wore regular workout clothes and socks, and it was perfectly fine. The instructor was wonderful. She started by asking who had never taken ballet before, then positioned the newer students between people with experience so it would be easier to follow along. I really appreciated that, as I have no dance background and definitely found myself lost more than once. Having people around me to follow made it much less intimidating. The class itself was energetic and fun. The instructor was patient, encouraging, and made sure to keep things approachable for beginners. I'm sure my form was atrocious and I messed up plenty of times, but nobody cared -- the atmosphere was supportive and welcoming, and everyone was just there to enjoy themselves and keep trying. The class had people of all different skill levels and abilities, and it felt very inclusive. Overall, this was a great introduction class, especially for someone nervous about trying something new. I never once felt self-conscious, and I genuinely had fun. I'd highly recommend this academy to anyone looking to take dance classes, whether you have experience or not. If I were interested in pursuing ballet, I would definitely come back.
