The Country Inn of Berkeley Springs - Inner lounge to relax

We visited this hotel a few years ago and recently returned. It isn't a high end resort, but is so…read moreincredibly relaxing. Located right in the heart of Berkeley Springs, you can walk to all the spots in downtown. The hotel is cozy, with a nice pub on site and spa. it is also just steps away from the Berkeley Springs hot springs, along with the community pool and farmers market. On the latest stay, we got a room in the newer part of the building. It is the less expensive room option, but the room is very spacious. We prefer the older portion of the hotel, in the main building. But you can't go wrong with either spots. I'd recommend getting reservations in advance if hoping to eat on site. The pub has limited seating options. But its well worth the stop.

We opted not to have housekeeping come, so would have been nice to have had a broom or dustpan handy since it's Spring and we were all bringing in mud / dirt on our shoes, but otherwise was well appointed for two people traveling with a dog (altho the 2 little side chairs could have been more comfortable, and it would have been good to have a designated place to put the dogs bowls). The staff was very accommodating when I had to change my reservation, and were all wonderful in-person, too. We ate dinner at the restaurant, which had good home-cooked food, but the young waiter needs training; he came over when we were still eating and asked what we thought about dessert. It wasn't crowded, so I don't understand why we were rushed through our meal. We didn't end up going back because there are so many other dining options in the town or nearby, but it's definitely a plus to have a restaurant on-site when traveling with a dog.

This is a great B&B close to the main part of town. It is right next door to the main hotel, and…read moretwo blocks to the state park. One more block to the main shopping area. and two blocks from Lot 12 resThe only problem about the location is that it is very close to the main road through town and there was some noise from trucks breaking for the nearby stoplight. But I consider myself a very light sleeper, so the average person will probably not have issues with this. The place is very clean and comfortable. I stayed in the Rumsey Suite. The bathrooms are modern and have fantastic jetted tubs. The bed was very comfortable. My room had a white noise machine, ceiling fan, a large closet, free wi-fi, and even electric candles for a romantic touch. They offer a continental breakfast with a lot of options and a Keurig machine for coffee. There is a nice patio out back overlooking the brook. Parking is easy, free and right outside. The innkeeper was very nice and friendly - happy to chat and answer questions about the area - but did not impose on the guests. The decor is cleaner and simpler than most B&Bs, which was a huge draw for me! I don't like rooms full of creepy dolls and tons of old lace. I would recommend this location. The back room with the two twin beds probably has the best view.

The entire property is very clean and well furnished. The Inn is within walking distance to the main part of town, we parked the car when we arrived and walked to everything . There is a lot of traffic noise but all rooms have a white noise generator and neither of us had any trouble sleeping.

"A decent hotel but sorta ghetto in regards to the employees and people coming in and out, if I'm…read morebeing honest." I recently stayed here for a couple nights with my girlfriend for a little adventure in the surrounding areas. She booked it weeks in advance and it seemed to be one of the better hotels in the area plus the price was great and they offered free continental breakfast. Upon arrival I noticed the hotel was newer and had plenty of parking in the front and the back. They also have a nice little area to sit outside in the back to eat, smoke, vape, chat, have a beer, or what not. The lobby was very vibey and colorful and they have beers and wines for purchase as well as snacks and frozen foods, but having a pool table there is probably not the best idea for a hotel as some of the guests were annoying and obnoxious. The room was nice, the tv was a good size, the bed was very comfy, the pillows were not great, but the shower was nice and had amazing water pressure. I thinks it's a nice place but could be way better with more professional employees. Every time I walked by or went to the front desk to ask a question they were either in the office on their phone or behind the desk on their phone. Also, they weren't the friendliest either. The free breakfast is pretty much a joke. I've had better breakfast at a dirty gas station. It's obviously edible and will do the job, but it's not very good in any regards. It's nothing like other Hilton's I've stayed at over the years. It's very very minimal and simplistic but not in a good way. The eggs tasted like cardboard and the bread selection was sorta nasty. They didn't have much else to offer besides some nasty looking sausage. Btw, they do have pretty good coffee that is available 24/7 at a little station by the front desk. It was also sorta loud at times due to guests and we stayed in a room on the first floor at the end. All-in-all I'd rate this place about a 2.5 because the hotel was nice and clean and it was definitely decorated very vibey. FYI: it's in what seemed to be busy area with a Walmart right beside it as well as other hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers. I witnessed a lot of cars using the parking lot as a short cut to the road literally 100 ft away because they didn't want to wait at the stop sign. So if you have kids be careful because they were flying through the lot. The price was great considering and since we are rarely in the room when we travel we thought we'd give this Tru a chance since we'd never stayed at one before. Would I stay here again, probably not. Safe travels :D
