It was on my way to a family vacation and this served as a pit stop. Of course the pit stop was Sheetz, but that was at the old location which still sits in town. Heading south through here you will definitely pass the old location and will be able to tell that it is indeed an old Sheetz. This new location takes you all the way through town, near the roundabout for the 522 bypass (which, for some reason, is not open to northbound traffic at this time). Pulling in here early in the morning served as a stretching of the legs and grabbing a quick breakfast. Found a parking spot immediately and made my way inside. Knowing that I was going to be getting breakfast I made sure to stop at the touchscreens to order. A few quick taps and I was set for food. After ordering I went towards the facilities. What I liked about this location they put some thought into layout. They leaned into the restaurant aspect more than other locations. The facilities are located right next to the seating area if you choose to dine in. Towards the front of the store made for a better placement. If this serves as a pit stop for some, I am sure it is greatly appreciated by those people as you don't have to walk into the entire store to the back corner. By the time I was finished with the facilities, which were pristine, and grabbed my drink, and paid, my order was ready. I grabbed my order and made my way over to the seating area. I devoured their 2 for $6 breakfast sandwiches while I spaced out. Facing front and looking out onto the lot, you get to see how much this space is busy. People coming and going and at a fast pace. I do have to say, the staff here are amazing. It did not matter if I saw an employee, each and every one of them greeted me and asked how my day was going. They were some of the nicest employees I have come across in any business. If I ever find myself driving this way again, I will definitely make this my pit stop.

There was someone hanging around out front, some older guys sitting around Inside talking and relaxing and the store sold all kinds of homemade fresh food in addition to the usual gas station fare. I didn't have much time so I just grabbed a snack and a bottle of water and headed back. I'd be interested to come back here and try some of their fresh food and this place almost feels like going back in time in a good way. The Liberty Express Stop is always filled with over the road trucks lined up in back and the gas bays are always filled with cars, it seems as though everyone traveling has the same idea as us. Most of the time stopping you are greeted with the smells of pizza, coffee and sandwich type goodies. There are always people in line buying food stuff and a small eating area for those who want to take a break from driving. The prices are not bad and my hubs always picks up his Utz Potato Chips since we can't buy them locally. The interior is always clean and well stocked. I would give this little rest atop a 5 star except for the always long line for the restrooms. Of course, they can't help that but that's the only thing that needs to be changed or updated.

I see some reviews with low ratings because of being closed. Reviewers need to keep in mind this 83yr old lady cant work 16hrs. a day anymore. 12hrs is enough. If it is closed on a day she is not running arens she is sick or in the hospital.

This was a charming one pump gas station. Seemed to be family owned with some nice attendants working inside. Van Meters definitely isn't fancy or modern but they had a good selection of snacks and beverages. The bathrooms were super clean. Clean bathrooms are the most important thing to me on a road trip. It was a good place to fill up and I would much rather give my business to someone local than a large gas station chain.

The inside and outside are always clean, including the restrooms. The keep fresh coffee on 24/7. They have plenty of soda options and fresh brewed iced tea. They also have a large selection of bottled soda and water. They sell made to order sandwiches and subs, along with in house made fried chicken and daily specials. Some specials include fish, Mac and cheese, hamburger steak, chicken and sub specials. The staff at AC&T is always friendly and helpful.
