Terribly run company. Service is less expensive than Verizon but it's unstable. Internet constantly goes down

I went to the Optimum store with my little Apple TV hand sized box and small remote control to…read moreexchange them for an Optimum Box. I was told by John that they were out of stock And weren't getting anymore Optimum boxes until Wednesday 10/4. Really ??? What's wrong with this picture. This Optimum store covers a portion of the populated North Shore and the store is out of stock on a basic cable necessity . A second problem was why my Apple box was freezing up & stopping. John told me it might be a slow speed. Did I know what my speed was?? No idea said I.john asked me how many pcs, tvs, laptops, etc. did I have? Phones, iPads, cell phones, laptops, etc, the answer was MANY!!! This was one of the first time technical person analyzed my speed. And what's troublesome is I'be been an Optimum customer for over 40 years. John and Walter analyzed my situation, Told me my speed was only 300, describing It as a 3 lane highway. They wanted to upgrade me to 1 "Gig". I understood it would be like adding an HOV lane. The upgrade added some extra bucks to your bill but I said YES. I brought the Apple box home and it now works like a charm. Thank you John & Walter. I wonder how many people work remotely from home and have asked their cable provider about their speed or how many times have the techs asked them??? I rate the Optimum Company a 2 for their lack of stock in their stores and for not training their field techs to investigate a customer's "need for speed" to quote Maverick (Tom Cruise).

I…read moreasked one of my friends where she goes and she said the Verizon store in Woodbury on Jericho Turnpike. Ask for John. He was amazing. We discussed what I wanted and he made suggestions. I went from an iPhone 13 to an iPhone 16. The new phone is bigger with more storage, etc. It was backordered, and when it arrived, he transferred all my information to the new phone. He answered all my questions. Showed me the new equipment I would need. He made sure all my settings were updated and current. He Bluetoothed the new phone to my car. He was great. One Sunday afternoon, I stopped in to get a new phone case. John was already helping a woman at the desk. I offered to come back, but he said no, I can help you too. I sat down next to her and shortly thereafter, a third woman walked in needing assistance. No problem. John helped all three of us. 3 "mature" Long Island women were talking to John and each other simultaneously, and he never lost his cool. It was impressive!. Go to Verizon on Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury. You will not be disappointed!.
