So my wife and I went a Friday. Place was dead. Went looking for a nice Walleye rod as she was getting it for me and wanted me to pick one out. To keep it short, the floor idiot, for rods,was an absolute ignorant jackass! He needs to be fired as he is extremely rude to fellow workers and customers, check your video 2/27 2pmish. I am begging you to take my money and you don't want it! Just amazing. So, we left without buying a single item. Shame on you Cabela's for not being attentive to customers. People at the firearms department to take a little pride in their job! Someone who is willing to help because what they are doing is against the law! If you make a mistake on the paperwork they are supposed to help you out with corrections but they they tell you there's nothing they can do and it plainly says on the ATF website that they are supposed to print out your paperwork and help you file a amendment to your paperwork! read more

This place is about as hilarious as you can get. The FBI is stubborn and does not recognize a conversion from a 6 felony to a misdemeanor, even if it's reported to the state. I was denied a firearm purchase four years ago. When I recently tried to purchase a firearm, Cabelas said until I got that 4 year old, yes 4 year old denial taken care of they could never sell me a firearm again. Well guess what I guess I'll never be buying a firearm from them again. I've never heard of such an inane policy. These people act like the government will write you a personalized letter, they don't do that. Records have been expunged, and they still won't let me take the NICS check knowing I will pass. read more

Always a good experience in Cabela's. However, this particular visit was wonderful. Love the walk through of the boats and the ATVs, love the selections of ammo and that the prices have lowered significantly. Love that there are always so many different varieties of quality jackets and coats. Love that I was able to find the one for me. I'm very disappointed in customer service and regulations. My sister in law works here, bought me a smoker for my birthday used her employees discount. When opened it there was damage, on one corner where the legs attached. So I returned for an even exchange. She wasn't working that day and since she wasn't there to sign for the return I had to pay the difference from her employee discount to the full price. All I want was an even exchange. This review is based on my interaction with the firearm counter. Was looking for some advice on a scope. I did their routine, I checked in at the computer and waited for my turn. It was not very busy and there was several employees behind the counter and not many customers. But after waiting for quite awhile standing right in front of the counter, there I stood. Then the brain trust just taking other customers standing there and ignoring their dumb check in system. After giving the WTF comment, I left. No more visits to Cabelas's for me. read more

Updated 6-21-20 Today was especially nice even with the masks and social distancing they had wonderful sales and the staff was awesome! The guy over in the boating area helped us. Older gentleman was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Most of all he was patient and kind. I can't say as much for the shoe department. So since they decided to ignore me, I decided to not purchase any boots or boating shoes. Usually Ariat or keens are my preferences. But I will go to Ariat online to make that purchase since they didn't want to help. The lady in the sunglass area helped me right away to find the perfect glasses. I like aviators. But I can't wear them because I had sinus surgery! But to my surprise she found me some Maui Jim's! They are lightweight and cute. I can wear them without getting a headache front he sun or the weight of the glasses on the bridge of my nose! So thanks!!! They even were nice enough to ring me up at the sunglass area! I was pleased with the overall service today. :) I would recommend! I have had so many problems in the past at this store but last night was very different. I went in about 15 minutes before closing and the lady in the camping equipment area was so nice. She helped us find everything we needed and she was very knowledgeable not only about where the items were located. But also about each individual item. This store is pretty awesomely decorated & is worth a visit just to look around. It is your typical chain camping store with a bit of everything for your outdoor needs: camping gear, guns & ammo, hunting gear, fishing, supplies, lots of shoes, dog supplies, & so much more. My biggest problem with this store is the prices. They really are outrageous. $50 for a hoodie, an $85 fishing hat, & supplies I can get cheaper at other stores. They do have some unique items that are worth paying a bit more on since they are hard to find elsewhere, but for the most part I wasn't impressed. Cool decor doesn't justify paying ridiculous prices to me. read more

Once again this store and their management sucks. While everyone in the country knows we have a ammo shortage, let the customers know the Cabela's policy on five boxes per day.. customers are NOT mind readers and believe it or not it's not my responsibility to figure out some stores policy. I will, however, follow the policy and instructions if they are listed/posted. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTO! Shows no mention of per DAY! Once confronted by the manager is where things really took a turn. "Amden" or whatever his name was. (African American, 50's) made no further explanation other than "people take my signs down." Well, signs are cheap, prolly should post a few more that folks couldn't take down. 30,000 ft thinking I know.. should have allowed me to purchase the ammo and said no more today. Instead made a big deal over how they get their signs taken down. Once again, not your customers problem. Learn to be a better manager and post proper signs... would expect a store manager could facilitate getting their company policy's posted properly. As for me, Cabela's USED to be the go to place for high quality products and customers support. Not anymore.. since bass pro bought them, the worst of both companies shine thru. Fabulous store! An outstanding collection for sports minded people. It's a paradise for all things outdoors. If you can't find it here, you won't find it anywhere else. Purchased a gun on-line & went to the store to pick it up during the stated hours. The e-mail never stated the gun counter closes an hour and half before the rest of the store. Luckily we were just past the closing time. My husband did the background check but the store claimed that because of the time it was not going through & would call the following day, but did not. We trued calling the following day but nobody at the gun counter nor customer service would answer the phone. It took a call to the corporate office only to be told they were "busy" and left a message asking for a call back. The call back they just stated the background check was pending. Then day three, and again needing to call corporate because apparently nobody in the store will answer the phone. I spoke with the manager and through my conversation with him it became clear there was a problem with their system and they are either unable or unwilling to figure out what the issue is. As a FFL dealer they have the ability to follow up with the ATF if no response is received (approval, denial, or reason for additional review), but they will not and plan on just keeping the background check in "pending" status. The store manager mentioned he had a purchase from a couple months prior that was still in pending, which just proves there is an issue with their system and are too lazy to resolve the issue. read more

The gun department here is the worst, slowest run I've ever seen!!! 3-4 people standing around laughing all the time meanwhile I've waited over an hour each time here to be serviced. There has to be a better way. A rep sitting with one customer waiting 20 mins for a background check. Only saw two other people shopping. Store was dead. Was looking for a specific item. The people at front of the store weren't much help. They pointed to an area of the store. We wandered around and around, there was no one on the floor to help. Since we drove far, I wouldn't give up. Went back to the front, showed item and sku number on my phone and they called someone to help. She took us to where the item would be, and said they were out! We told her our phone showed they had 2. She went to the back and brought one out. Their reluctance to help on a slow day, was disappointing. We have stopped into this store in the past to grab some fishing supplies and found the facility to be adequate to our needs. My wife enjoys the sweatshirts and they appear to have a better fit even after being washed. As another review stated; the clothing is a bit on the expensive side. But I figure you pay for what you get. The fish cave is a neat experience and second floor deer game is unique. The overall layout is not unlike the basspro shops in the area. The 3 star review is due to issues with inventory supplies. Once we went in for tributary steelhead supplies and we were dissapointed with the offerings. This past time we went in looking for a simple hunter blaze orange vest. The only items they had were bird shooting vests in the 60-80 dollar range. The worker lady told us that it was all they had and they must be sold out of the orange vests. Really? Its fall time before shotgun season and you mean to tell me you are sold out of a 10 dollar item? They should have a display for all the safety needs! I called this store to enquire about merchandise I was disconnected twice on the third call I spoke with a man named Mike in the boating department when asked to be connected to the Firearm counter I was told they would not pick up the phone at the firearms counter because they are simply too busy . I then asked to speak with a manager and was disconnected again . How a company's employees treat customers is a reflection of the company . It is unacceptable to be dismissed as if the customer don't matter. I have been to the store and visited that department and there was always more then ample people in this department exactly what they are doing is a mystery . When your store clerks don't have time for customer service the store is no longer worth visiting . This store has a management problem . This store was always nice to visit really no different than any other bass pro / Cabelas . Seems that the management has no direction for their employees . I have been here many times and usually it's for fishing gear, ammo or to shop for guns. Today, however, I had a few gift cards and decided I might shop for some clothes. I was blown away by the amount and variety of shorts, pants and shirts available and by the brands that are here. Wow. I ended up buying a bunch of stuff and tripling my amount on the gift cards because there are just so many great things here. Since being taken over by Bass Pro Shops, there have numerous times that they have put out misleading and false advertisements on there sales flyers. This is my third time that I've been at the store right as the store has opened and they do not have the item that they have advertised as being on sale. Ridiculously enough this has happened numerous times. It's a method in which to get you into the store, even though they realize they don't have the advertised item to get you to purchase something else as you visit the store.
