Amy called me in right on time, gave me a warm welcome and provided me with a tour of the facility. Amy used the word family when describing the relationship they have with their patients and it felt very genuine and refreshing to hear. The reason for my visit was to get a second opinion on the work that I had done at my previous orthodontic office in which I was not fully satisfied with my treatment. Amy was easy to talk to, very understanding and was able to give me a very thorough explanation on my current dental condition and did a great job in addressing my main concerns. Getting a chance to speak with Dr. Sims was also a great interaction. I truly felt that he cared about my concern. He was able to explain my issue in a very logical manner, and he gave me straight answers as far as a game plan and how long it will take to get my final results. Amy gave me a gift bag, provided me with information to take home on the consultation, and I even received flowers on my way out. (it was in recognition of Mother's Day, but still a nice touch ;) the waiting area also has coffee and hot chocolate available. Wish that I would have gone with this office for my Invisalign treatment back when I started in 2021. I think that it would have saved me both time and frustration.

His teeth are absolutely beautiful like a movie star beautiful. It was the best money spent towards the care and health of my child. I would recommend this place a thousand times over.

I approached this decision with careful consideration. I chose Fishbein Orthodontics as they appeared to have a solid reputation in Pensacola. From the outset, my experience at Fishbein was largely positive. The staff was warm and professional, the facility had state-of-the-art equipment, and the addition of Zoom whitening upon treatment completion added an extra layer of appeal. Regrettably, my journey has left me with a sense of disappointment. While the follow-up visits were generally pleasant, I felt that the communication and the monitoring of my progress was lacking. The office gave me an estimated timeline of 12 months which seemed reasonable considering that my correction was relatively straightforward. However, it extended significantly due to what I can only describe as negligence on the part of Fishbein Orthodontics. The game plan was to align my lower incisors and address a slight overbite, again, nothing complex. (see photos posted for reference). However, after completing my treatment and having my attachments removed, I felt satisfied with my results. My teeth looked straight, and though my bite felt a bit off, I didn't think much of it. I assumed it might just take some time to adjust, Fishbein never indicated any issues during the removal, so I trusted that everything was fine. In the days ahead, I started experiencing discomfort in my jaw to the point where I needed to insert my retainers throughout the day just to feel some comfort. Concerned, I decided to seek a reevaluation. My biggest concern at this point was that I may have developed a posterior open bite aka: POB, this issue is often underestimated by patients and practitioners. Brushing this matter under the rug is not recommended given its implications for oral health. I'm not one to jump to conclusion, so I was hoping Fishbein would get to the bottom of it all. Long story short, after months of new refinements and elastic bands to correct my bite, I requested a meeting with one of the Doctors to discuss my concerns. Credit to Dr. George who was able to shed some light and provided valuable information. He listened carefully to what I had to say, and gave me the attention that I have been seeking since I started. Turns out my bite naturally had a slight over jet and it needed time to settle. After wearing aligners for long periods of time a a 2.5 year span, I became accustomed to the way that my bite felt with my aligners on. My bottom jaw's muscle memory was conditioned to push forward. This should have been addressed months earlier. Instead, they kept giving me refinements and not monitoring the bite as they should have. An explanation on how my bite was supposed to align along with a little education would have served me well. Their only focus was on straightening the teeth with little to no attention to the bite which is equally as important. The lack of attention to this key detail not only prolonged my treatment but also added frustration to an already challenging process. Looking back, I realize that adopting a "set it and forget it" mindset and a "trust the process" mentality was not the right approach. Assuming that Fishbein would address all aspects of my dental health beyond straightening my teeth was a mistake. Another downside is the frequent turnover of doctors and assistants, resulting in an impersonal experience. My expectation was to establish a relationship and rapport with one Doctor. However, the constant rotation of staff made my experience feel mechanical, like being on a conveyor belt. This lack of personal connection left me feeling dissatisfied and undervalued as a patient. My intent is not to bash this practice but to provide genuine feedback as I believe there is much to like but there's just as much room for improvement. As a patient, you invest too much time, money and patience, you deserve to get the best possible treatment. Hopefully Fishbein reads my review and considers making some changes for the sake of future patients. In summary, while Fishbein may have some positive aspects, my personal experience fell short of expectations. Their failure to provide adequate monitoring and proactive communication, combined with their impersonal approach to patient care due to staff turnover, was a major let down for me. Knowing what I know now, if given the chance for a do-over, I would have gone with a private practice, and opted out for traditional braces.

The owner Alan publicly stated and misrepresented his desire to remedy my situation on his BBB response, however, this was only a PR move to ensure he "looked" good in the eyes of anyone simply glossing over the complaint, as none of his response had merit or was accurate. This matter is not going away and I will become more and more vocal very quickly maximizing the power of my trade and social media expertise to quickly and effectively reach a large audience. To anyone considering engaging with Orthodontic Specialists of Florida - this is risky. If you encounter even the slightest financial setback they will derail years of treatment, fail to provide necessary dental appliances to maintain the integrity of the work that has been completed and will treat you like a number not a patient. This matter was completely avoidable and I could have easily become a reference for their practice. Instead, over the past year, they have left me with no other choice but to ensure accountability this way. Be warned. Their orthodontists are not employees of Orthodontic Specialists of Florida, rather are 1099 contractors and therefore have no allegiance to you, the patient. They will ultimately use this as a way to gain sympathy and avoid being held accountable when something like this comes up as they did to me as they claim to have to not have any ability to make decisions at the local offices on handeling of matters that should be determined by the DR. Not a corporate business office seeking to derail 2 years of medical treatment because of $1,000 of a past due balance one was actively paying off. After all of this I was forced to duplicate my efforts with a real orthodontist who actually has my back. Happy to refer you to a real Doc, hit me up. Hard Pass on these wanna be orthodontists.

The one star is for the all day waiting period that you encounter on appointment day. If your appointment is at 10 am you won't get seen until after 11. Then you'll get taken to a chair and an assistant will come in and out making little changes each time until 2 hours later you may leave your chair. All the while you can hear them in the back chatting it up. Im sure they are busy making molds or whatever but if you need people doing that then hire them. Stop over scheduling your office to where clients are waiting for hours and spend 4-5 hours per visit just for adjustments. The system at this office is horrible. Unless you have all day to burn for orthodontist appointments I would suggest going some where else or come with a full charge on your phone, three magazines and a book. It's gonna take a while.
