    El Draque
    Sherri B.

While visiting London my husband and I decided to try this restaurant after shopping at Westfield Stratford Mall. We had several options to choose from but this one caught our eye. I'm glad we selected this one. The atmosphere reminds me of some of the nicer American Bar & Grills. They have upstairs seating that overlooks the restaurant, it is a more intimate area. For starters we had Guaca-molho with plantain crisps. This was essentially guacamole with a nice twist i.e. plantain crisps instead of tortilla chips. The two went well together. I'd say it's worth a try especially if on vacation and you want to try some new cuisines. We also had El Draque, it was their version of a Mojito. In my opinion, everyone can not make a great mojito, but Cabana's bartender did a great job with theirs. For our entree, we both had to have the Spicy Malagueta Chicken. This chicken was delicious and tender. It was seasoned well and possibly marinated. They had extra sauce on the table but we did not need it. As for sides, the sweet potato fries were excellent and we also tried the cassava chips with chimichurri sauce. The cassava chips were their version of a potato (according to the waiter). They were definitely similar to a potato and the sauce put me in the mind of a pesto. Again, I'm glad I tried something new, they had a decent taste but they did not outshine the sweet potato fries. We also had some very refreshing Carvalhelhos Still water. I am not obsessed with bottled water, but if I could find this in America, I'd buy it occasionally. Finally, for dessert Nega Maluca Chocolate Cake (flour less cake) with a small caramel fro-yo. I totally enjoyed it. Overall, I enjoyed this restaurant, if it were not so far from our hotel, we probably would have revisited it during our stay.

Good, fast, best chicken ever tried, good cocktails and original. Not too pricy. I recommend it.

The service was quite quick and good. The feijoada was all right, but a bit dry. The biro-biro rice was not bad.

It's also adorable with a lovely man serving and making all the food out the back. I walked past this place this morning and thought, "I must pop in for lunch, this place looks too cute." I'm so glad I did! Browsing the menu there is a host of Brazilian home baked delights on offer, from chicken croquettes to cheesey dough dumplings. I went for one of their home made sandwiches filled with egg mayo and tonnes of salad. That with an apple cost no more than £3. What a great value lunch. They do have a little sitting area for 2 people that you can eat at. It's really nice because you can sit and watch the world go by while munching your lunch. I am so going back here to try the rest of their menu as well as their coffee. Well done Café Brasileiro, I can't wait to see you grow ever popular with the locals.

This place is the bomb for good reasonably priced Rodizio…read more Having tried one in Clapham Rodizio Brazil and absolutely hating it, even I didn't really know why I was risking this again. But this place highlights why you could never tarnish every business with the same brush. It set a new standard. We were the first here for dinner and whilst the son of the owner was a little quiet at first, he was perfectly polite and let us get seated. After taking our drinks order which was two soft drinks (they have the lovely Guarana) we set about eating some salads and other buffet starters. The rice was cooked perfectly, as were the pork/beans and pinto beans. There was cassava pieces, and some yummy cheese puff things that were extremely addictive along with chickpeas, salads, salsa, fries and other things. It wasn't a huge selection for a rodizio, but it was a concise and allowed us to try everything. It was all really good. As we started eating, the meat started arriving. It isn't the card up/down thing here, and it isn't staggered in evenly spaced 10-15 minute intervals. The staff here are very mindful of how far you'll likely be through your food and when you'd probably like some more. You can also always ask for a particular meat you want more of, and they'll helpfully bring more of it out. It was rare to find them return to the kitchen with any meat on their skewers. They would normally take just the right amount out depending on the number of people dining. And might I add, it was all very fresh. No tough chewy dried meats here. Speaking to the staff, it's because they roast all the meat on a charcoal spit. Meaning it remains tender and succulent. The chicken was the most tender meat I've ever eaten. It was well charred on the outside, but it was almost like it was steamed from the inside. There was no pinkness near the bone that you would normally attribute to a piece of meat cooked this gently. Amazing. The meat courses delivered to us were spicy sausage, chicken drumsticks, chicken heart, pork, pork ribs and maybe a few more chicken/pork dishes I can't remember. As non beef eaters, we missed out on quite a few courses that I kind of regret a little, but makes this place all the better for you beef eaters out there. These were beef short ribs, beef Picanha, and maybe one or two more beef dishes I can't remember. The only thing really missing was Lamb. But the chicken was so good, I pretty much substituted that for the beef rounds, having 3 in total and they aren't small! Dinner is coming to a close when they see you're kind of stuffed and you're served some grilled pineapple. This was good. If only they'd cut all the black bits out. On a side note I noticed the groupon voucher mentioned banana fritters. I asked the staff, and I expected a little resistance, them saying perhaps, it wasn't on the menu tonight or similar, but they immediately said they'd check with the kitchen in a few seconds later, confirmed it would be ready in 5-10 minutes. Lovely responsive service. I believe the mother was in the kitchen making this, and it was quite nice to be able to see from the doorway the actual fresh bananas being taken from atop the fridge, hearing the chopping and mixing of the batter... They were really good, with a breadcrumb type batter compared to the normal pancake type. The bananas were a bit firm, but to be honest I like them like this. Dessert was a brazillian puddim. Which is a little like an egg custard tart and creme brulee. It was a delicious rich end to a meal that left us stuffed and certainly a few kgs heavier. In all, it was a lovely evening out with homely brazillian food. The place I'm told had only been open for a year and I was surprised it wasn't busier to be honest. Food of this quality just deserves more attention. I'd certainly be back even at full price. One place they could start is with menus in English on their website. I was told that was being worked on too. If you're around Stamford Hill with an appetite. I now have a place I can wholeheartedly recommend.

On the evening of the 28th of February 2024, my partner and I, along with our friends, visited Las Iguanas to celebrate our 8th year anniversary. What should have been a joyous occasion turned into a deeply unpleasant experience due to the reprehensible behaviour of one of the staff members. Upon arriving at Las Iguanas, we were enticed by your advertised brunch deal for £25, which concluded at 11 pm. However, upon inquiring about the offer, we were informed by your staff that a booking was required. Understanding this requirement, we promptly made a booking online for brunch at 8 pm to enjoy the deal. Unfortunately, the evening took a turn when we were attended to by a waiter named Byron. We informed Byron about the new booking and asked if it was okay to now enjoy the brunch menu, excited to enjoy our anniversary. In an act of utter unprofessionalism and disrespect, Byron directed offensive language towards my partner, labelling our decision to book for brunch at 8 pm as "c***ish." We were completely taken aback and appalled by his choice of language, which not only violated basic standards of decency but also tarnished what should have been a memorable evening for us. When we expressed our shock and asked Byron to clarify what he had said, he callously repeated his offensive remark calling my partner a 'c***', leaving us feeling deeply disrespected and uncomfortable. Such behaviour is entirely unacceptable and has no place in any establishment that purports to provide a welcoming and hospitable environment for its patrons. As a result of Byron's actions, our anniversary celebration was completely ruined. The incident left us feeling humiliated and distressed, overshadowing what should have been a special occasion shared with loved ones. Bryon then left the restaurant floor to make a phone call. We drank the drinks we had already ordered and then another waiter approached us asking if we wanted any food. Due to Bryon's offensive language, we wanted to leave the restaurant promptly. We requested the bill, which was provided to us with the service charge added. I stated there is no way we are paying the service charge and for it to be removed. Bryon stated he was sorry for using the language, but our evening was already ruined, and we left the restaurant. I implore you to review your staff training protocols to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. While I am deeply disappointed by our experience at Las Iguanas, I hope that your prompt and sincere response to this complaint will demonstrate your commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.
