Great service, great value. I took my car there twice; first for the front brakes and then for the rear brakes. All the staff I dealt with were friendly and polite. read more

I needed some service work done to my Hyundai. The dealer was very difficult to work with so I started looking for a new mechanic. I liked these guys from the moment they answered the phone. Setting up the work was super simple, and they were quick and did an excellent job. On top of that their rates were much better than the dealer. It's good to know that they are out there and I'll be using them for all of my cars. read more

Fast and friendly service done at a great price. Took my Jeep here for check engine light, Jeep was repaired in a timely manner with updates throughout the repair. read more

The Costco San Juan tire department gives Caars as one of their suggestions for a wheel alignment (Costco will sell and install tires but doesn't offer wheel alignments). When asked, they said Caars would be a safe bet for a full service too. I needed a 90,000 mile service which is a major one, quite expensive. Evan gave me an estimate over the phone. When I went in I dealt with Vince who was lovely. Vince gave me a ride home in my car which I thought was clever because as he said, sometimes he can learn things about a car when he drives someone home before the service. Sure enough, he noticed a very subtle shimmy to the steering wheel when breaking at high speeds. Vince called me during the day and suggested I have the brakes changed, which I was somewhat expecting because it had been a long time since they were replaced. He picked me up when the service was done. I drove the car back and the shimmy was gone, they'd fixed it. When he wrote up the final invoice, it came out $40 above what I came up with when he added the brakes. He promptly corrected it. Overall my experience was great, and I'll have them service my car again in the future. read more

This team is efficient and personable. I made an appointment and after what I heard was a very busy morning, they were ready and waiting when I arrived. Also, I was curious about the whys and wherefores of aligning a vehicle's tires. One of the crew spent a few minutes explaining and answering my questions. I really appreciated that. His explanation was clear, showing his knowledge and attention to detail. The car was ready in about 40 minutes, as promised! These guys are great! I'll be going back, and recommending them to my friends. read more

Honest, quality, great people. It's the only place for my whole family. I've personally experienced them tracking down what could have been a $500 fix and turn it into a $25 fix - this only happens at Caars. read more

Always do a great job with our vehicles and take great care of our campervan. Good prices, friendly and honest techs, and can always get in when I need work done. We only go here for our vehicle maintenance now. read more

Friendly, professional service. Discussion regarding new quotation was detailed and informative. Very impressive.

Great honest and knowledgeable service. They don't try to sell you services you don't need and work to keep folk's budgets in check.

Excellent service at reasonable prices. Good communication throughout the repair process of our Highlander. Would highly recommend.

I have been to my share of Auto repair shops. These guys are on a different level. They tell you how it is not just try and sell you something you don't need. Everyone there is super helpful and just plain nice. The owner Vince really takes care of business nice to see an actual Owner operator. You can tell his employees actually care there not just there punching a clock. I usually deal with Evan when I go there but Dan is also very helpful. Keep up the good work ! read more

This business is the real deal. They are friendly (you will NEVER get an attitude from this crew), honest (they'll tell you exactly what they find and let you know what's urgent and what can wait), and very reasonably priced. In my experience, a maintenance visit here is less expensive than the big chain shops, and is 100% less hassle and 100% more friendly. If you're tired of mechanic shops that treat you like you're bothering them, you need to come to this place. read more

I'm thrilled with Caars! Their service, customer service and timeliness with repairs is unmatched. I'm grateful for their work and will continue to patronize this business. 5 stars! read more

I live in Las Vegas, but will often wait until I'm down visiting family to get vehicle maintenance done by this shop. They're always fair, prompt and do quality work I've never had to bring a vehicle back because of wrong or incomplete work. They're a top-notch shop! read more

A good honest car mechanic place is super hard to find. But I found one!!!!!! Vince and the mechanics at Caars are the best. My Mustang's car engine light would not go out. After 2 years and 3 mechanics, I found Caars who took care of the problem in one visit. They keep my 1998 Nissan in great shape as well. And their customer service is outstanding. Thank you Caars!!!! read more

Great honest service. They always seem willing to offer a straight answer to solving your problems. If you don't need a particular service they'll tell you. read more

In a buyer beware industry (most of us don't know the first thing about the inner mechanical workings of the cars we drive), integrity and honesty can often be put aside in favor of profit. These guys exemplify a small, local business focused on giving their customers a QUALITY, HONEST experience at an affordable price. They post their prices so there's no ambiguity about the cost of their labor and they've always given me an honest opinion about the priority of costly repairs. I never feel like I'm being sold a service that I don't need. They are by far the best auto repair shop I've encountered. On top of that, everyone that works here is just plain nice. read more

I have taken my 2002 odyssey to Caars for about 3 years now. I have been extremely happy with the service and advice. I was thinking about a new car, but the price of cars are insane. I decided to put some money into my old car. I am so glad I did. My 18 year old car runs like it is new. The paint looks terrible , but I am not worried about getting from one place to another and I saved about $34,000. Great place for repairs and maintenance. read more

LOVE CAARS!!! I have been going to Caars for about 25 years. The most trusted place ever. I moved away from the area, and will always make the drive to San Juan Capistrano to have my car taken care of. As a single lady, they have proved themselves over and over again how trust worthy and caring they are. I was having problems with my car after I had moved. I tried a few places near by. I was told I needed a transmission. I was told I need $1500.00 to repair something under my car before I could have an alignment done on my car. I wanted to know what Caars had to say. I made the drive to my trusted and true!!! NO transmission needed!!! It was an electrical problem. And, NO repair needed under my car. I was given an alignment! Repairs will always come up on an older car. I know Caars will take good care of my car. Thank you, Cathy K. read more

Great and reasonably priced wheel alignment. 1/2 of the cost of the dealer. I will be back not only for alignment but for all service.

These guys are the absolute best! They are professional, thorough, organized, always kind and priced very fairly. They just did a huge maintenance and repair job on my 200k mile Lexus GX that I want to keep forever. So grateful I have them in my back pocket to help me do so. read more

This review is LONG overdue. And bear with me, it's a bit lengthy! Back in 2008 CAAR'S was recommended to me by America's Tire, to do my tire rotation after replacing my tires on my then-1998 Lexus. They did it in a timely manner, and did a great job. I saw that the owner is an ASE certified master mechanic, which was comforting. In February 2009, if you recall, SoCal was hit with lots of rain. All of a sudden my car got the case of "Christine" and kept trying to start on its own...when I wasn't in it...and the key was with me, not in the ignition! I was naturally, completely freaked out. I texted my grease monkey friends back home, 6000 miles away, and one friend (a master mechanic) asked if it had been raining. When I confirmed it had, he said my starter fuse had a crack and needed to be replaced. I called a dealership & asked if they could just replace the part and of course they said they had to run a full assessment (and of course charge me up the yin-yang for that). I thought I had no choice but then decided to try CAAR'S. When I explained the situation (which Vince listened to without cutting me off), and asked if they could just replace the part, I was told Yes. Wow! But it was explained that if it wasn't the reason for my car's issue they would then have to do a complete assessment. Of course this was totally acceptable, and a given. Turns out it WAS the starter fuse. Talk about saving me time, worry and money. It got tiring disconnecting one battery port to avoid my car doing the "Christine" thing lol! I was so pleased with their service that I continued to bring my car back for regular maintenance (oil change, etc). Later I moved farther north and got a new car. Caars was a bit too far for me. But sometime last year-and-a-half my relatively new Chevy Equinox all of a sudden had some interior lights/displays and radio go blank on me. Like years before I asked my grease monkey friend 6000 miles away and he told me the battery had to be re-set. Like before I called the dealership and they said they had to run a full scan of the car and couldn't just do what I asked. I remembered CAAR'S and again called. And again I was told to bring it in. About a short 30 minutes later I was out the door. Vince even charged me less than his quoted price because it didn't take as long as he thought it would. Honest, more than capable, friendly and reliable service. I WISH I lived closer. I would only go to CAAR'S. If only they were open on Saturday's, I'd make the trek down and bring it there (I live in Costa Mesa - I know, not that far but...if only they were open on Saturday). I HIGHLY recommend Vince and his crew!!! read more

This place really took care of my car. Went in there for an front wheel alignment ($70). Less than an hour in and out and I got a $10 online discount on top of that. In response to the 1 Star review from 3 months ago, I am a small stature Asian "mature agewise" retired lady veteran who moved from the East Coast to Southern California a year ago and know nothing about car other than stepping on the gas and brake to go where I need to go. Had used Caars for engine oil change. The price seemed fair and the shop even gave me a 10% discount on labor and parts for my age/veteran status/or both. I am writing because of my experience with Vince a couple weeks ago. I rear ended a recycle bin and broke my car's left tail lamp plastic cover. The shop in LA County where I was at the time replaced the cover and failed to make sure the light work. Found out by chance two days later when I returned here at Orange County that the tail light didn't work. I got to Caars a few minutes before it closed on the Friday before Christmas. Vince checked it quickly and told me to wait for a few minutes. I got in the shop and helped myself to my favorite drink, hot water. Yes, they have those Keurig kind of coffee but have never tried coffee in my close to 70 years age and don't need the caffeine. Before I know it, Vince gave me back my key and told me it's fixed. He didn't even charge me because he just needed to change the bulb. If that's not honesty and kindness, it must be the giving, joyful and loving spirit of Christmas. Vince, I salute you and greatly appreciate your integrity and the way you run your shop as everyone else had raved about it. I was also touched when you said the shop would be closed till after Christmas as family time is very important to you. Lucky your employees. Thank you and bless you. Astrid read more
