A pair of pants I asked to have taken in at the waist and legs came back with one leg too tight and the other even tighter. There was a difference of almost 3/4 of an inch in the taper. I insisted they be fixed, and the second attempt wasn't much better. I also brought a vintage coat from the 30s to find out if it was worth modernizing. The tailor assured me the fabric was hugely expensive wool. I told him I'd want to get the coat cleaned first to make sure it would look good, and he told me not to worry; he was going to take care of everything. When I asked if he was sure, he told me "Please, I'm here 30 years..." Well, when I got the coat back, looked like it had been sewn by a student, and it was just as unclean as it had been when I dropped it off. I brought it to a dry cleaner and the stains, as I suspected, could not be lifted. Also, the coat wasn't wool. The shop needs more craftsmanship and less con. I wouldn't go back there to hem a pair of Levi's, let alone trust them with anything of value.

A fabulous choice of clothing for every style. Costly, but yet affordable (as an ex plus size woman, this is a fact: plus size clothing is generally costly). But what really made me fall in love with this store is how the staff know their clients. Ok, my friend is a social butterfly so no surprise that when we came in we were greeted with smiles and hugs...but as I was waiting for my friend to show me his different outfits, I realized that the staff knew many of the clients coming in, always greeting them with a smile and often their first names. And the sense of humor in this place...pure joy! While I am very happy with the jacket I purchased, my experience with Espace MixMix was not acceptable. I purchased a Rudsak jacket from them, provided my personal phone number and email, as well as my credit details. The order was processed and I received an order confirmation shorty after--all pretty standard protocol. An hour later I receive a string of emails to my work address from other employees in the company office in Ottawa (I am in Toronto), telling me that someone called the front desk and call centre looking for me to confirm a jacket order. This phone number is used to report emergency problems within the company, and calling it jams up the lines, not to mention is a huge invasion of privacy. On top of this, I am in a contract position that is up for renewal, and having personal phone calls and email exchanges on business time is not only incredibly embarrassing, but jeopardizes the continuation of my job. I contacted the Montreal store, where the manager (who was extremely nice and helpful) investigated and found out that an employee got my work info off of LinkedIn (not sure how he was certain this was even the right person), and contacted my employer. This phone number is not even listed on LinkedIn, so he must have looked into it even further. Still, somehow, he called an office in a different city, and shared personal information with them regarding my purchase. I have never, and would never give permission for them to do this. The store manager was at a loss for words at how this could have happened, ensured they would look into it, and forwarded me to the online manager. In my correspondence with online manager Neil Bragg, he was completely unprofessional, brushed off my concerns, and was dismissive in his responses. His response to my email politely explaining my concerns was to re-send my order confirmation, and when i said this did not address my concerns, he sent back "no probs". He hasn't so much as offered an apology, or to rectify this for me. He continues to insist "we're not the bad guys here", that they are just protecting me from credit card fraud, and that many stores do this. I am protected from fraud from my bank, I have made many large purchases online, and this has never happened before. Ultimately, he refused to forward me to the president of the company (I emailed and called to no avail), so I have been forced to write this review to let others know about my experience.
