Ariel is the owner of Denver Farrell's and she is seriously the best. The team she has built there…read moreis motivating, empowering, and patient! You walk into a class not feeling intimidated, but welcome, and regardless of your level of athleticism and ability, there are endless modifications to the workouts. We would recommend Farrell's to any person who is looking for an "inclusive but not over-bearing" gym and team. This is the place to be, which is wild coming from someone who doesn't love working out but has really enjoyed being part of this gym.

The support of the other members is also very good. I did get a good workout and the early times for the classes was great. I am basing my review on the safety. When the classes are small and the instructors can see all the members and focus on safety things work well. During Groupon times and other incentives the classes at times get overcrowded with new people who do not know what they are doing and this makes or an unsafe environment. I was hurt by another member who was not properly trained. I did see this happen other occasions with other members. I no longer go to the gym as I do not feel it is a safe place for me to workout. I am also basing this review on the financial policy of the owner. I would recommend paying as you go for workouts and memberships. If anything happens for any reason you will NOT get a refund. I paid for an entire year. When I was injured by the other member I was told that under no circumstances will I be given a refund. I am now in seven months of rehab and may have to have surgery. If everything works out and you do not happen to have a problem, this can be a great workout. But pay as you go to protect yourself.

I purchased a Groupon for Footprints Yoga and was excited to learn a different style of Yoga. I had been going to another studio in Denver and I love it. I didn't realize that this yoga studio was located inside a small gym (directly off the freeway). If you decide to go, please note you'll need to drive past it, turn down a street, go through an alley, then drive through the Sherman-Williams parking lot to get to the place. It doesn't say Footprints Yoga anywhere on the building either, just Ascent Fitness. I entered and was greeted cheerfully and shown to the yoga studio. A tiny, tattooed young man apologetically told me he would be my instructor for the class and that the most important thing I needed to do right away was fill out a consent form that relieved them of any legal responsibility if I got injured, (all without making eye contact with me). Then he scampered off to a corner in the studio to intently examine his smartphone. For the duration of my time there, he didn't make a single effort to engage me in any conversation, and his body language and demeanor indicated he would rather be anywhere else. I went to the locker room to change. Very nice, Ascent Fitness, you are the reason this review has two stars. Footprints gets zero. The locker rooms were clean and I loved that the keys were already in the locks and attached to a clothespin, brilliant! I came back to the studio, put my mat down and tried to get focused for class. The ambient noise from the gym in the next room was so loud I couldn't concentrate. That, and the yoga instructor kept dragging bags across the floor, and the personal trainers kept shouting "Five more pushups!" and in general the entire atmosphere was the opposite of the calm, nurturing, serene place I was craving. To top it all off, 6:15pm rolled around and I looked around and saw that I was the ONLY person in the class. I haven't felt so uncomfortable, so out of place, and so conspicuous in a long time. I couldn't take it anymore, and I left.

Personal training, group fitness and small group training highlight this bright, friendly gym, but they have so much more to offer! Ozlem has probably the most beautiful and serene Pilates studio I have ever seen, and Footprints Yoga has transformed the group fitness room into a Yogi paradise. And did I mention they do couples massage? After working out there, you will soon feel like part of the community at Ascent!

Jason and Icelandic Fitness literally saved my life after I was stricken by a horrible and very…read moreaggressive bout of pneumonia. Long story short, the everyday run of the mill flu, turned into a secondary pneumonia and horrible lung infection for me. My right lung was over 80% infected while my left lung was a little over 50 infected. This was NOT walking pneumonia but rather the kind of pneumonia that pretty much kills people when 50% of the lung is infected. once again... I had 80% infection rate. I spent over 5 hours in the ER, was given emergency injection of antibiotics, pregnazone and fist fulls of oral antibiotics. After that, they pretty much told me to pray that everything works and that I'd beat it. As an ex-athlete, longtime skier and mountain biker, this was the craziest medical game plan I had heard of. Fortunately, with what little bit of mental cognition I had left, I decided to look into hyperbaric oxygen therapy for pneumonia relief. Lucky for me, Icelandic Fitness popped up after a Google Search or two. These HBOT treatments along with Jason's meticulous oversight, worked miracles on my health and I survived my ordeal. I don't want to get into all of the science behind the efficacy of (HBOT) hyperbaric oxygen therapy, all I can say is the information is out there and the Hyperbaric Oxygen Institute lists some unbelievable benefits. Should this therapy be sought to treat pneumonia? 100%, yes! As a matter of fact it just seems crazy that none of the medical staff even mentioned it as a treatment option. That's how great this treatment works. I did FOUR days in a row at about 1.5 hours per session. That might be a bit much for some people, but I'm confident Jason will help identify how many sessions and how long each will work best for you. It really comes down to his expertise and him asking the right questions about what's going on with your body. Tissue repair, accelerated healing or overall recovery, Jason has you really, really covered. Want to increase the odds and beat pneumonia? Make sure you incorporate (HBOT) hyperbaric oxygen therapy... under Jason's watchful eye.
