I cannot recommend C2 Mortgage highly enough! C2 Hawaii - He finally got his own yard - Mortgage Brokers Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Mckay at C2 is absolutely amazing to work with! He always showed absolute professionalism, patience and amazing personal customer service through several (rather difficult!) loan processes until we finally closed on the right house. He was incredibly responsive, even getting back to us on evenings and weekends whenever we had questions. The market is so complicated, but Mckay is incredibly knowledgeable and guided us through all the different rules and best practices to find the perfect loan for our home. He would run options and detailed breakdowns for interest rates, closing dates/costs, and purchase amounts more than a few times, and he always delivered quickly with amazing attention to detail. We honestly cannot recommend Mckay enough and would absolutely work with him again in a heartbeat! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Royce Gist, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the entire process. As a first-time VA home loan homebuyer, I had a lot of questions and concerns, but Royce was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and clear throughout the entire process. He came off as really friendly and professional as the time we work together over the phone. From the initial consultation to closing day, Royce took the time to explain all the options available to me, from different loan products to interest rates, and helped me understand what would be best for my situation. He was always prompt in responding to my emails and calls, especially making a lot of calls past scheduled hours. Together with my realtor I was working with, Royce was able to secure seller's credit to help me pay off my closing cost and a minor credit card debt. Thanks to Royce, I not only got approved but also secured a great rate that I'm confident will save me money over the long term. I highly recommend Royce if you're looking for a mortgage broker who is professional, trustworthy, and truly dedicated to helping you find the best loan for your needs. He made what I thought could have been a stressful process smooth and easy. Thanks again for everything! I can't recommend Royce and C2 Hawaii enough -- if you're buying your first home, he's exactly the kind of person you want on your side. read more

My husband and I truly can't say enough great things about Thomas Ray -- hands down the best mortgage broker in Oʻahu. From start to finish, Thomas was professional, knowledgeable, honest and genuinely committed to helping us secure the best loan possible. He took the time to clearly explain every step, making what can often feel like a complicated and overwhelming process smooth and completely stress-free. What impressed us most was not only how quickly our loan closed, but also the incredible rate he was able to secure for us -- truly the best rate I could have hoped for -- along with very reasonable fees. The speed and efficiency were remarkable, yet nothing was rushed or overlooked. Thomas's expertise, strong lender relationships, and attention to detail made all the difference and gave me total confidence throughout the entire process. A very special thank you to Lori, his amazing right hand, Lori was outstanding -- highly organized, exceptionally responsive, and incredibly sharp. Her attention to detail and ability to stay ahead of every step made the entire process seamless and stress-free. Thanks to Thomas and Lori, the entire experience was efficient, professional, and even enjoyable. If you're looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable mortgage broker in Oʻahu who can secure you an excellent rate with reasonable fees and close your loan quickly and smoothly, I highly recommend Thomas Ray and his team. read more

#50 for 2021 Pandemicaversary review that we're grateful for and upon our hearts to share. We didn't anticipate or expect COVID-19 to hit hard and on a continuum. One of our projects or to-do bucket list was to refinance our home. Paying too much for monthly mortgage which was difficult for us to save and stash away our hard earned money on renos. My husband asked our BIL who he went with for refinancing their home. BIL gave him his friend's number, a loan officer to contact and connect with for more info. We're very elated with refinance process from start to end. Troy and Rachel are a dynamic duo! Able to lower our interest rate from 3.75% down to 2.25%. We're able to save extra money for renos! They don't waste time! Clear communication with examples provided. That's what we love about them! They expedited the process. We signed docs and closed within a month. Thank you Troy and Rachel and all staff that handled our file with great care. Will refer our families and friends to C2 Hawaii! read more

Purchasing a home can be a stressful life event, so it's important that we choose a good team to help us through the process. We worked with Jason T. at C2 Hawaii for our home loan and we could not be happier! From the get-go, he's been very communicative, patient, prompt, and professional. He was quick to respond to our requests and any questions we had. In this market when homes are being sold seconds after being listed, it was reassuring to have Jason doing the work to get us the best rates and minimize our closing costs. Our realtor had never worked with him before, but has since referred several of her clients to him because of how awesome he is. Highly recommend Jason at C2 Hawaii for your mortgage needs! read more

C2 Financial with the professional, streamlined, and efficient outstanding service from Gary Goldstein and his team was incredible. This was our 1st experience purchasing a home where the entire anticipated timeline of the whole process was handed to us at the beginning. C2 Financial hit every metric on the timeline within a day of expectectations. How amazing is that! Lori Jaeger was super helpful in processing all the paperwork. C2 financial also helped remind us of our expectations. It is so nice to have a partner in this process that we truly trusted focused on our best interests. Gary helped us optimize and lock in the best rate possible, especially more powerful when brokering between numerous offerings. Better yet, this was completely done remotely! I can not say enough to fully capture how impactful C2 financial made our purchase seamless and dare I say, enjoyable. Without hesitation, we will utilize Gary Goldstein's team in the future. We are so proud they are part of our long-term financial team. Mahalo nui loa! read more

Thanks to Shawn Swenson, my husband and I locked in to the VA loan 30 year fixed rate at 2.25% interest rate. I don't know the FIRST thing about mortgage loans, but apparently (from our friends and family, some in finance, some realtors) this is an unbelievable rate. When we first started with Shawn, our rate was 2.75%. We were fine with that as at the time (in early July 2020), that was the most common APR for VA loan that we've seen not only from C2 Hawaii but other lenders. We ALMOST went with DR Horton as they were going to give us 2.75% with credits towards our closing. However, Shawn gave us a call and let us know he can do 2.25% with a few thousand dollars credit towards our closing. It didn't cover a lot of closing fees, but long-term 2.25% just made so much sense after we calculated the numbers. Even before Shawn let us know we can have 2.25% he gave us no pressure to go with him and even told us to take DR Horton's deal (because it covered all the closing fees for VA). Luckily though, we decided to wait a few days to see if the rates change and I'm so glad we did. Getting the call from Shawn with 2.25% interest rate was unheard of. We liked Shawn because he was honest, upfront about everything, and every time we called to follow up on our loan process he answered our calls and emails right away. We pretty much didn't have to do much when it came to closing our loan. Even though DR Horton's deal sounded nice, the 2.25% you just can't beat. Shawn also gave us no pressure to use him at all. If there's something I do like, it's when someone doesn't pressure me to do something. Taylor Bain also helped in processing our loan. Everything she asked for we gave right away and the both of them made it easy for us. We never really had to follow up for anything and when our lender (the one who our loan was actually going to be from) took a while to do closing documents, Shawn was quick and thorough to explain why. Our mortgage is lower than some of our neighbors who took their loans at 2.75% for houses a little cheaper than ours. We definitely referred a few of our neighbors to refinance through Shawn if they could. Even when it came down to closing, Shawn scheduled our signing on 09/28/2020 and we were able to record and get our keys on 09/30/2020. We needed to get our keys by 10/01/2020 because of some appointments we made (for shutters and garage floors) and Shawn made sure we got our keys before then. Great service! I recommend choosing Shawn and Taylor! read more

Richard is awesome! Thanks to him, my husband and I locked in to the VA loan 30 year fixed rate at 2.25%. We also asked multiple lenders for quotes before we proceeded with him, so we know his rate was the best that nobody could beat. Also, he is very professional, prompt, and decisive. When I saw another buy-down-rate option on my loan estimate, I asked his opinion and he gave me a thorough recommendation based on my home buying goals, future plans, and a comparative analysis between the different options. On top of that, Richard and his team truly cares about their clients. During the loan process, we experienced many difficulties due to our unique situations, but Richard and his team fought hard for us and got us what we desired. At closing, we ended up getting more than $1000 from lender credits, which was huge and saved us a lot from the closing costs. I recently refinanced my Kailua home through C2 and financial expert Gary Goldstein. Gary knew every aspect of the Oahu housing market, and his predictions about the refinancing process were right on the money (pun intended). As a Veteran I know that there are companies that believe that dealing with VA loans is too difficult. C2 is not one of them. Gary Goldstein was the perfect choice for me and my VA loan refi. He respected my Service, dealt compassionately with my many questions and concerns, and ensured that we got the best possible rate in the shortest amount of time. Gary did all the work, but I saved all the money, and continue to benefit from a lower monthly rate and much lower overall mortgage payment than if I had gone with anyone else. I would strongly recommend Gary Goldstein and C2 Hawaii to any Veteran out there who needs calm, capable, competent, compassionate help in navigating the Hawaii housing and finance markets. read more

What a joke, go find a serious broker. These guys have dragged me for over four months after pulling my credit. Said they would get me approved despite the complications of my income and student loans. Instead they sent me a denial and said not to take that denial from their underwriter serious because the submission to that particular underwriter was just to feel out what they needed for documentation. When I called management about why their loan officer was not actually working on my loan but apparently giving me completely unnecessary lip service they said they would get back to me with a different person and never did. Never heard from them the first time except more bs and lip service from the same guy for another month. Called again and they said they would get back to me about a different loan officer, but never did. If theres no possibility of getting the loan I'm asking for just say so. Why all the run around and dragging me along. Frankly, I had a pre-approval for less than these guys said they were gonna get me approved for, but I walked on that because of the lies coming out of this crock of a broker's loan officers...I should go review all of their independently listed loan agents or brokers right here on yelp. I'll just leave this here and hope anyone else not wanting to waste their time looks elsewhere...thanks for nothing C2 read more

C2 Hawaii was the best Refinance experience we have had so far! It was a delight and refreshing after dealing with other banks in the area. We had called around and found they had the best rates. To our amazement, closing with quick and easy. Things like accommodating us by sending a notary to our home also made it minimal effort on our part. Darron was our loan officer and Matt was our processor. They were incredibly responsive, accurate, and reliable. Any 80's kid knows at least a little of the GI Joe theme song. I'll sing you a small part: "GI Joe! A Real American Hero, GI Joe is thereee.. He never gives up, he'll stay 'til the fight's won, GI Joe will dare." Joe Schmitz's parent's couldn't have picked a better first name for him. My husband and I had a very trying year in our search for a home. We probably put in no less than 8-10 offers, but this market is insane, as I'm sure you know. We had dreams of a single family home, but were only approved enough for a condo, so we were competing with a lot of cash offers and just couldn't win. We absolutely ADORE our first lender and would recommend her any day of the week, but as much as she tried, and she worked hard, she couldn't get our preapproval amount raised to cover what we really wanted to buy. Then we met Joe Schmitz. We thought we would take another shot with a different lender to see where we stand, not thinking we would do any better than where we started. Surprisingly, Joe was able to get us $200K over what we were originally approved for!! A single family home for us just went from "haha yeah right" to "holy crap, we might actually be able to pull this off!" We went over all the details with him and knew we could afford this. That wasn't the problem. The problem was we were barely qualified for the home we wanted. I mean barely. I won't lie. It was not easy jumping up $200K more than what you are originally approved for without a lot of bumps in the road. We were hanging on, but just by the hair of our chinny-chin-chin. But Joe knew how much we wanted the house and assured us he was going to make it happen. We were committed to it. We had to file endless amounts of paperwork, write all kinds of letters to the lender and had to file extensions on our closing date a few times (I'm sure the seller still hates us; ) On top of that it was during the holidays, so you can only imagine how busy everyone was, including Joe, trying to get year end deals closed. I'm sure he had a lot on his plate, but he fought for us like a champ and we ended up closing Jan 2015. Most people won't need to do as much as we did. Our story is a little crazy, but I wanted to share to show that with Joe, even in an extreme scenario such as ours, he fights for his clients all the way and delivers. He can definitely make something happen for you too. Was Joe done though? Uhhh no, he's GI freakin' JOE, remember?! He contacted us out of the blue a month ago about a refi. We've been working on the house and added a lot of improvements. We just completed the refi. Guess what? He saved us 2 months rent and our mortgage payment is even lower! That goes a long way towards our remodel budget. He is tirelessly working to build very solid relationships and he is just an all around nice, honest guy working really hard behind the scenes for his clients. It's a pleasure to work with Joe and I do look forward to many more real estate endeavours with him on our team. You truly are a real American hero. At least to us you are. and knowing is half the battle... : P read more
