I knew the owner from a previous salon, but I hadn't ever had her as my stylist. I am a woman of that delightful certain age where I need my grays covered. I also wanted highlights which I have had for many years. Her assistant Greg applied my color of highlights which were to be blonde. I HATE yellow or ANY brass. I have been going lighter for a few years. The owner darkened my roots to the darkest shade of brown as possible. Defeating all the work I had gone through to be lighter. Her assistant Greg somehow became the person to cut my hair....and he just wanted to start with zero conversation on what I would like done. When I asked to see a picture of what he was thinking ,I asked 6 times he got angry and refused. He stood by the front entrance claiming to make sure I wouldn't skip out without paying. This was the most insulting and beyond embarrassing thing that has EVER happened to me. I began to cry out of sheer frustration and horror and he mocked and laughed at me. When I asked why he was laughing he said " Because this is funny to me." Then when the owner returned...she was not in the salon when this occurred. Of course she apologized, but then told me she needed to just do a quick technique back in the rinse bowl to me.....He gave me the color light highlights I requested. She washed them out to now I have VERY dark roots and my highlights are as yellow and as brassy as it can get. Oh and while I was getting my hair washed by the assistant the entire time he gossiped about the one other customer there. Telling me she was just trying to be as cheap as possible and get service without willing to pay for the level that service would cost. My hair looks like shit! The owner did offer to try and fix it, but I would have to go back in with the assistant there...and the 2 washing stations are not even 2 feet apart. Horrible awful experience! read more

This is a new salon in Santa Clarita. It is a gem for the easy location and since it is brand new, it is very clean. The space is intimate and the decor is warm and trendy. All the gals are friendly and accommodating. I moved to this location with my stylist, Seika Simon. She is a very good, efficient young hair stylist. I would follow her anywhere, and I have. This is, by far, the nicest and most convenient location she has worked since I became a client. I am happy for the salon to be a lovely place for them to work and a fantastic place for us to get our hair done. One more thing, the chairs at the wash station are fabulous. I am fairly new to this community and have been going to C salon for about 6 months. I love everything about the salon. The people are warm and friendly and the ambiance has a welcoming feel. Jackie Shapiro is the "BOMB" for cosmetic tattooing and lash extensions. I have had straight tattooing done on my eyebrows in the past at other salons; however, I decided to try micro-blading with Jackie. I am so glad I did, as I am thrilled with my eyebrows. I literally drove home in tears...I asked for an A-line textured cut...and I left with ..I don't know what to call this...I don't know whether it's because my hair was really coarse but I came home and my best friend came over and gasped, it is the worst hair cut of my life, the two sides don't even match...and there is nothing I can do because it's too short to fix. I wanted to do this before the holidays and now I don't even want to go to work tomorrow...the lady was nice but two hours later and I just didn't even know what to say to her, I paid and left. It took me a week to decide to write this because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings- and it took me a week to make sure I could write this without being really bitter. My daughters and I came here last week- with pictures. I had been here before (1 daughter had as well) and we both had great experiences. This time, the daughter who had been here before had the same stylist while other daughter and I shared a different one. Let me break it down so it's not long winded. - the daughter who shared my stylist: result was a bob (not really what was in the picture). When I asked the stylist how to get it to look like the picture, she told me use a flat iron and styling putty. For an 11yr old. Okay. Or, you could have put in the layers like they picture had. - the daughter with the same stylist: hair cut not like the picture. In fact, looked like she just got a trim. -me: saddest story of all. My hair is naturally curly (somewhere between wave and curl), so I have to be careful. Described my hair- in detail right down to the frizz. Multiple requests for layers (even added hand gestures) and shoulder length and above all- no mom helmet (imagine the Rachel but less layers). Repeat requests. Result- mom helmet. Told her that was NOT what I wanted. Response- "I just did that to see the frizz you were talking about". Uh.... Stylist goes back to it and proceeds to cut hair short. Result- bob that is to the base of my skull in back and just below jawline in front. And still no layers. Her words of wisdom imparted to me "All cuts are bobs and the curls are done by a curling iron". No, no they're not. They are all very nice here, which was why it was hard to write this, but every time I look in the mirror, I can't help but be unhappy. I was originally going to give this 2 stars, but I DID have a good cut before. Best thing I can say is at least I didn't get a crew cut. But we will not be going back. Ever. Which is how long it will take for my hair to grow out. :( read more

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! It took me over two years, and several bad experiences before I finally found my go-to hair stylist after moving to SCV five years ago. I will never let anyone, but Catherine, touch my hair. I followed Catherine to her newly opened salon, and it's a decision I will never regret. The C Salon is a bit smaller than some of the previous salons I've tried, but that is what makes it great! So many services all in one place! I feel completely comfortable and welcome there. The décor is modern and beautiful, and the staff are warm and friendly. Every time I sit down in Catherine's chair, I feel like a million bucks after she's done working her magic with my hair. And she's such a good conversationalist that the time flies by. She gave me extensions 2 summers ago while I was trying to grow out a short bob, and I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair as I did during the 7-8 months I had those extensions in! NO ONE guessed that it wasn't my own hair. Now, I've started taking my daughter to Catherine as well, and she's just as wonderful with kids as she is with adults. My daughter was all smiles after her appointment. Which I was extremely happy about because she's 5, adamant about keeping her waist length "Rapunzel" locks, and was nervous about just getting her ends trimmed. Now she asks me when she will get to go back! Score! So we loved this salon!! We were terrible clients and booked appts at the last minute, but they were able to accommodate. Catherine the owner worked with both of my girls and she was amazing. She starts off the appointment with a massage if wanted and my girls loved it. One of my girls wanted a big change and cut off quite a bit. She absolutely loves her cut and can't stop raving about it. My other girl just wanted a trim, but it was also great and the styling after was awesome. I have been to a lot of salons and had many different hairstyles in tha past and I would highly recommend C Salon! I live in Seattle area but was desperate for a new do so I stopped in. Everyone in the salon was super friendly and helpful in their suggestions for my hair. Samantha did my hair and she did a fantastic job, I would highly recommend her! I got a partial foil with a mix of low lights and high lights and she was very good at matching the colors so they would look very natural in my hair. I have had other experiences where stylists went way to warm in color and made me look sick, but Samantha knows her stuff. I also got a cut, I had chosen one I saw on Rachel McAdams and brought in a picture. Samantha was careful to evaluate my hair and make sure the style would be possible (I have very thick course hair). She also cut my hair initially at a longer length so that I could see it and make sure I was comfortable with having so much hair cut off:-) In the end the hairstyle looks exactly like the pic and I LOVE it! In the time I was there I was able to observe both Catherine and Seika as well and from what I can tell they offer the same high level of service as Samantha provided me. I went for the second time yesterday to have Melinda cut and color my hair. The first time was just a cut as a "test"! I LOVE her!!! She took time to listen even though I had no idea how to say exactly what I wanted but somehow she knew what I was saying. Love my color, love my cut ( still looks good this morning!), and love the reasonable price! The salon is so nice and quaint. They offer coffee, water, and little snacks if you want it. I was in the need for a new stylist and was SO scared to see someone new and start over. My hair is very unique, it's curly, fine, grows funky, some spots wouldn't even grow at all and it's hard to manage. Not everyone can work with it.
