Started seeing Catherine around 4 years ago for extensions. At that time, she was the only one in the SCV that did extensions and was reasonable. Otherwise, the only other choice was BH and I wasn't going to pay 3 x as much. Since then I go for color, trim and highlights. Catherine has been consistent with taking care of my hair. I have been looking for a local salon and it seems like my quest will continue. I don't consider my hair style/color to be complicated. I told my hair stylist what I was looking for and what I wanted. She seemed up for the task. The stylist was nice and tried her best to make small talk. But would not stop talking about adding colors, like pink, purple or blue... Then when I squashed those ideas, she brought up doing an ombré, repeatedly. As for the results of my hair color, there are some areas that look like it has grown out for a few weeks, like she missed it completely. Then there are other areas where it was not blended at all, and there is an obvious line of my natural hair color between the previous color and this color. Lastly the color is ok as long as my hair doesn't part a certain way, otherwise it is orangish. She must seen this when she was drying my hair. She did an amazing job on my pedi and acrylic nails. It was a typical price but she took her time. I will definitely be come back. Pedi is $20 acrylic was $30. This was my first time here. I am a Yelper, so I found this place on Yelp based on the rating. The rating is very well deserved. Being a guy, my haircut need went from "sometime in the next couple weeks" to " I need it know". They were able to get me in on two hours notice without being all like " what you want it today?!?" I found the place to have a nice appeal - some swanky features inside, but it is next to a feed store, so it is not intimidating. Monica came in early for me and she did a great job! I don't pay a lot of attention to the technique but I know it came out great! She washed my hair before and after, she never used buzzers, and she trimmed my eyebrows. Catherine has been my stylist for 4 years now, since I moved back to Santa Clarita. I have thick hair, and am so grateful to have a stylist who cuts it so it falls the way I like. She always takes the time to discuss what type of cut I want at the beginning of the appointment. And she's great with color, getting me the blonde I used to have naturally (but I've only come to appreciate it now!). Catherine's knowledge of products is extensive, and she's given me advice on products that work well with my hair type (especially in the dry heat of summer).
