After buying a 100 year…read moreold home, I turned to R&N Builders to handle my complete home remodel, including kitchen and master bath, and all new hardwood floors, electricity and plumbing. R&N Builders did not disappoint!! After meeting with Ryan to discuss my project, I knew I had found my contractor. He listened carefully, offered thorough guidance and insight, and was completely honest about timelines, budget, and any concerns he had about making my dream home a reality. I had heard so many contractor nightmare stories from others who had remodeled their homes, and they warned me to be prepared for the worst! With trepidation, I kept waiting for that moment to come ... but it never did. Throughout the entire project, Ryan remained professional, responsive, and reliable every step of the way. And he provided such great insight (and patience!) when addressing all my questions and concerns in each phase of the project. From guiding me through my design options, to selecting the finishes and fixtures, to the final installation of every last item, Ryan's knowledge, expertise and attention to detail never ceased to impress! My experience with R&N Builders was an exceptionally positive and satisfying one, as their quality work and exemplary professionalism are bar none. I would recommend R&N Builders without hesitation to anyone looking to do any kind of remodeling work on their home, and I would gladly welcome the opportunity to work with R&N Builders again.

If you're thinking of getting a new roof -- go with someone else!! This place has caused my home…read moreand family more trouble than our ancient garbage roof ever did. We were quoted for a new roof on our home in April 2025 and work began soon after. The workers had total disregard for our property. They stomped across our front garden, left their empty cans in our children's sandbox, and left nails just all over. They also smashed and snapped a huge limb off of our lilac bush (I watched them do this carelessly). They left extra pieces of roofing on the roof that blew off into the yard as well as a significant amount of nails on top of the roof of our porch. I understand the work can be messy, but this seemed outrageous. I was picking nails off our driveway for months afterward. The real issues started this winter. We live in Colden, NY and are used to harsh winters with an old roof. However, you'd think after almost $30k for a brand new roof you wouldn't have to worry about leaking/ insane ice issues on it. We have had leaking in the past that we were told would be remedied with the new roof. Instead, the leaking has been significantly worse this year causing more damage through our walls and ceilings. The first time they sent a repairman out to address the issue I was not asked if we were home or if they could come on the property. They called and told me (again, not asked) they'd be at our house in 20 minutes. While I appreciate the quick response, I am a SAHM with two littles and really did not feel comfortable receiving a call that someone would be coming into my home while I was home by myself. In addition to this, they gave the repairman the wrong address and he ended up stuck in my neighbor's driveway which was completely torn up when they pulled him out. The repairman did nothing but take photos of the house and shrug. He told me he couldn't do anything because the amount of ice on the roof would further damage it. The second time this happened, he took a ladder up to look at the issue and told us it was because of the siding. Our siding is old, however we are not convinced the siding is the issue. He found more pieces of roof that'd blown off in our yard and told us he was going to leave to reshape them and come back later that day to reattach them. He never came back, and we never heard from anyone again.

I used Frank's to install I-beams in my basement to stabilize the foundation last week. Overall the…read morework was completed and seems fine however the customer service was lacking. The salesman gave me a hard sell and said they would price match their competitor by 100$. They actually didn't price match because the competitor's estimate included an engineering fee and Frank's required me to pay that fee (1000$) out of pocket. Once I agreed to go with Frank's the salesman became much less responsive and it took forever to get the work scheduled. The workers also ripped paint off my siding because they used duct tape to hold back my screens and they also left these screens open in the middle of summer for hours which let in a ton of bugs. The workers also used crude language throughout the entire job. I contacted Franks three times about these issues before writing a review and got no response.

Dale was supposed to install a bathroom exhaust fan and put more storage in the garage rafters for…read moreme. He told me he would perform all of the work and have a helper with him. When the day of work arrived, two other guys came to do all the work and Dale was here for less than an hour to collect his down payment and "make nice." Guys that put the fan in didn't wire it properly. Then they did less than half of the storage in the garage. And in doing so, cracked one of my support beams. Then proceeded to re-install my ballast so that when I opened my garage door for the first time, the garage door cracked the ballast and sent glass bulbs flying everywhere. I have scratches on my car which was in new condition up until then. When I called Dale to complain, after relaying all of my concerns to him, he proceeded to yell at me on the phone saying that he never stated he would be performing the work, that I was thinking of another contractor, and that if the "mess" the broken bulbs caused was too much for me that he would come over tomorrow to clean it up. I then told him I wasn't comfortable having him or the guys he hired in my house to fix or clean up anything. Dale is lucky that he already cashed the down payment check because for the issues, time, and money they have caused me I would have canceled that check. As it is, I am out more than $500 and will have to have all of this work re-done. STEER CLEAR of Dale and Hibbard Home Improvement. You will regret working with him. **Edit to add** I filed a complaint with the better business bureau, who I am confident will do nothing to help me rectify this situation. And to make matters worse, it not appears that Dale has hidden my review from other Yelpers. Very shady.
