This was fortunate because the hearth came damaged. Even though I didn't need the hearth Hearthside refunded me $400 for the damaged piece. I thought that was fair. As it ended up I had to use one of the broken pieces of the hearth to make new granite legs for the sides of my fireplace. So everything worked out very well. It was a difficult process dealing with the builder after our project began. We encountered a problem with our custom kitchen cabinet installation. When they were installed it created a large gap between the lower cabinets and the framed wall that holds the refrigerator. The gap was large enough that caulk or silicone could not be used to solve the problem. The builder didn't agree that this was an issue for us. Food and liquid that spilled on the counter would go into this gap and could not be cleaned up. We asked for a side splash matching our countertop granite and the builder would not pay to solve the problem. I called the supplier, Granite Empire, to discuss our concern. I spoke with Lecindra and she was very helpful and understanding. She looked up our account, found the granite that matched and provided the side splash to solve our problem. We've been given every excuse- Our slab broke, they had a miscommunication with our paperwork, Covid, literally every excuse. Not only were they dishonest, we were completely disrespected by the owner and his wife on multiple phone calls. It escalated to the point of the owners wife, Natalie screaming at my husband because he called her out about lying again about our install date. I am disgusted by their behavior. No one wants to rip out their kitchen and be without what you're promised. We were given an initial quote, then a second quote that was $2000 more. Do not use this business!!!!!
