I ordered from the Pinehurst location for my grandma's 75th bday. First the service was poor. I walked in and no other customers were in there and wasn't greeted. I had to ask the lady if anyone was going to help me. I've previously visited this location to pick up a cake order and wasn't greeted so I guess this is common. I was given the cake and I did look at it before walking out. However I wasn't sure on what I had sent in the email and since the cake was in the box I couldn't see if the side had the spoon detail. So I get home and take the cake out of the box and it's not anywhere near the cake reference that I sent for order. I called to make the lady aware and showed her the video and she acknowledged that it was different from the emails and said she wished I had told her before I left but she admitted to the cake not being the same. So I'm not sure how or why my actual order email wasn't referenced. Although she offered to fix the cake if I drove back to southern pines (I live an hour away). read more

There's also one in old Pinehurst. (The only location I've ever been to. Not sure why it's not on Yelp. 105 Cherokee Rd, Suite 1E, down from Drum and Quill. ) The cupcakes are expensive but worth it. I ordered 18 (9 key lime, 9 vanilla) cupcakes for my twins' "under the sea" theme birthday party. We were all very happy with their appearance (see pics). The quality of ingredients, however, was not as high as I'd hoped. While the lime had a distinct flavor, the cake itself was heavy. The frosting on both was synthetic tasting. Not what I anticipate when expecting cream cheese frosting. The powdered sugar in the frosting had the aftertaste of plastic. I would recommend they upgrade their ingredients for a more delicious product. The shop itself seems to be doing well as both times I've been in there were customers waiting in line as well as a stack of boxes waiting for pick-up. My kids both loved their cupcakes so I'm sure we'll be back. On a side note: Hilarious business name! Although I prefer D Cups, C Cups will have to do. Ordered my daughters birthday cake here. They also ask you email them with explanations and pictures of the cake you'd like so I did just that. When I went to pick it up the day of the party it was NOTHING that I asked for. It was a white cake with sprinkles. They kindly took the cake back and re iced it the way I asked them to initially. I had to come back to get the cake which was not a huge deal but inconvenient (they did offer to deliver it after it was fixed.) It wasn't exactly what I asked for but it was close enough. It cost almost $100 I got nothing for the inconvenience except a sorry. The icing was delicious but the cake was very dense and dry. I was so pleased to discover they have gluten free cupcakes! Ive been a few times now and they had multiple GF flavors each time. The texture of their GF cupcakes is among the best I've ever found at a bakery. And their buttercream is soooo good! One word - SCRUMPTIOUS! My family loves C Cups. The display makes it hard to pick just one so we sometimes leave with cupcakes to take home. My favorite has a chocolate icing that melts in your mouth. It's heavenly! The owner and the girls that work there are wonderful and very friendly. They do specialty cakes, large orders as well as wedding cakes. My husband and I ordered several dozen of various flavors for our wedding and it was a HIT! I recently attended an event hosted by a friend. I have special dietary needs (celiac disease) and I was excited to learn that C Cups would be catering this event and that they had gluten-free cupcakes! This was a rather large event, and I was told by the host that she ordered more than enough gluten-free cupcakes, in a couple flavors, so everyone with gluten intolerance had more than enough cupcakes to choose from. But after arriving, the host and I were surprised to see only half of the gluten-free order was there, and it was the incorrect flavor. I was really looking forward to these cupcakes, I don't get to eat cupcakes very often with my diet, but sadly I was only able to have one cupcake at this event. After the event, the C Cups denied any mistakes in the order and refused to complete the order or give a refund. It's always a nice treat to find a company that accommodates special diets. I was really excited to try a few flavors of C Cups gluten-free cupcakes, but was greatly disappointed by their service. In my many years of dealing with celiac disease, this company's service was the worst I've ever dealt with. read more

My family and I visited the C Cups Cakery the Wednesday following Saint Patties day because we were given a coupon for a free cup cake. We stopped in C Cups around 3:30 in the afternoon. The store is very clean, and the atmosphere is cheerful. The cup cakes themselves taste VERY GOOD. The prices are ok, again, the cupcakes taste great so I would buy again. What we did not like: The girl working the counter, although friendly, had here boyfriend lingering around the shop. He was picking out cup cakes when we walked in..........but, he also took up the only large table available. My family of 3 were crowded around a table meant for 2, and another family of 4 were sitting at another smaller table. As a paying customer, it was annoying to have an employee"s boyfriend hang out and take up so much room. (The shop is very tiny) My advice: Order cupcakes to go. My 2 stars are because the cupcakes are very good, but I'm not there to listen to a girl flirt with her boyfriend while eating cupcakes. read more

Delicious and GLUTEN FREE! My husband ordered me 6 German chocolate cupcakes and 6 chocolate cake pops both gluten free for Mother's Day. They were excellent. Gluten free baked goods can sometimes be dry and crumble apart, these were neither. Apparently the shop can adjust most of their cupcakes to be gluten free. If this is what they can do for gluten free I imagine their standard recipes are fantastic. I would highly recommend C Cups for all diet types! read more
