Just the most difficult surgery to deal with. Getting an appointment is impossible and the staff…read moreare rarely helpful if you call the surgery. I have desperately tried to find alternatives but the other surgeries won't let you register unless you're within their allocated postcode area.

Their process involves filling in a get me registered form, which is put onto the system within, maybe, a week. It requires photo ID, and TWO proofs of address. Don't bother going there unless you have all of those. Then you have to call them to check if you've been registered, and schedule a checkup appointment with your new GP. If you need travel vaccinations (as I do), it's only after the GP has seen you that they will deign take the travel form you've filled, and spend a few days looking at what vaccines you may need. They you have to call them to check if they're done, and schedule a vaccination appointment. I made my first call today, as instructed by them, only to be told that they need a week, I should call back next week to check, and that if i need vaccinations I should go to a PRIVATE clinic in Guildford and pay for them, as they're giving travel appointments for the end of JUNE, and that's too late for me. I tried to ask how far the clinic was, as I don't have a car, but the lady didn't even pretend to care, urged me to take the phone number down, and bid me good-day as quickly as she could. Sadly for her, I know she's lying as someone (who is already registered with them) took their travel form to the centre 2 days ago, called today, and was offered an appointment for TODAY. It was only by asking that it got rescheduled to early next week. End of june indeed!! I am not impressed. If I do manage to get somewhere with this, I will be updating my review. Until then, my experience with Hillview Medical has been unhelpful at best.

I have been recommended to Harley Street Health Centre by one of my colleagues. So I booked an appointment with Dr Abood. The consult lasted an hour, and included a chat about my symptoms, when they occur, ear & nose check, blood pressure and also had blood taken. Personally, even though I am in my mid 30's,I am really scarred of the needle, but the nurse was amazing. She distracted me by keeping my mind busy chatting, while she was drawing blood. Offered me water & advised to wait for couple of minutes before I leave. The whole experience was 5*. No rushing or looking at you like you are crazy because your palms & sole is itching at night, weirdly enough. So the next day I got my results. It was not as bad as I thought. Iron & Vitamin D deficiency. Something that can be fixed easily. So glad I went to the clinic, as my nose bleeds and itchyness have been haunting me for years. I am now taking my supplements & feeling much better. Will have another blood test done probably in 3-4 months.

I was lucky to find this lovely clinic in Harley Street which did exactly that and I've been visiting this place for the last 3 years. Would suggest it to anyone in and around the square mile.

I was in and out within a few minutes! Now I am thinking of registering here to see a doctor, but probably not, as the parking is very minimal and always presents a headache as there is usually nowhere to park.

I personally had a good look through the NHS choices website, but as most people only bother to review places when they are angry... so it can be scary reading!! It makes it sound like all the doctors in this area are useless with reception staff that have been replaced by trolls - eep! This review is in case other yelpers move to Walthamstow and have a similar difficulty choosing a GP! Addison Road Medical Practice is just around the corner from Walthamstow Village...it is quite a residential area, and there aren't many sign posts nearby, so take a map the first time you attempt to get there! I called ahead to find out the best time to come in and register. I had to fill in quite a few forms...and then needed to set an appointment with a nurse to finish the registration. The Brilliant bits: * I have never been kept waiting for a long time here. There is a sign in screen at the side of the reception. This morning I signed in, and was called to the doctor within 2 minutes...then I was out with a prescription within 10 minutes. * They always keep some appointments free each morning. If you call at 8:30, you can get one pretty easily. The downside of this is that you might need to wait for a non-urgent appointment. * The building seems new-ish and clean * The reception staff are friendly, although have little time to help as they are so busy. * It's NHS, so fixes you up for free (^^) The less-brilliant bits: * You aaaaalways need to hold as the phone line is always busy. * The place seems pretty big, and can be daunting the first time you go here. No-one bothers to instruct you how to get to rooms...so I just wandered around looking at signs until I spot the right consultation room. * There is a board that tells people the doctor is ready to see them...but no announcement. The first time I went there I was not told to sign in/watch the board, so I nearly missed my appointment. * I found my doctor quite unapproachable...He did give me antibiotics for my chesty cough, but his brisk manner made me unwilling to ask him other questions. *sigh*
