I spoke to an elderly Asian male and let him know that I was a returning repeat customer. The guy told me the business was under new ownership but assured me he'd work with me on pricing. After selecting a granite slab, we sat down to discuss costs. Unfortunately, the conversation quickly became frustrating. The guy quoted me a price of over $60 per square foot, which I found to be unreasonably high, especially since competitors were offering similar materials in the $50 range, with additional discounts for larger projects. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the way pricing was negotiated. Instead of being straightforward, he put on a performance--asking a Mexican woman behind the counter, who I knew to be an employee from previously, if she could approve a better price. He clearly was pretending as if he didn't have final say on the cost, even though I knew he was the boss. After clearing it with this "employee" he agreed to take off a nominal $3 per square feet. I asked if he would agree to throw in a free sink, as advertised, and he did this same song and dance show where he needed to clear it first with his fake boss. Seeing through his bs, I asked about Mimi, his counterpart whom I had better dealings with in the past. He told me she was no longer with the company due to the change in ownership. However, when I returned to the yard later to look at another slab, a worker mentioned that Mimi was still employed but just off that day. That inconsistency confirmed my growing doubts about this guy. At that point, I decided to walk away. I told the owner I'd think about it and ended up taking my business elsewhere. It's unfortunate, but the lack of transparency and the pricing games they played have cost them a loyal customer. If these guys wants to stay in business he should really let Mimi run the show.

Had a great conversation with Jeremy who gave me a few options. 4 days later I got a call that exactly what I wanted was not going to be possible with their current supply and was given several different options. A few hours later I got a text message that my order was ready, I picked it up, Jeremy answered a half-dozen questions for me about joining, sanding, staining, and sealing. He also gave me some information, generally, about their supply, drying processes, Etc. Don't expect this to be a cheap option for you! I paid $200 for three 7 x 40" boards. Her knowledge about materials, color combinations, room size and what will fit is incredible. Most of the things that I put on my "if we have space" list she was able to accommodate for us. She was able to accommodate a coffee bar(I didn't even dream of that)! She walked us through the showroom and pulled things that she thought we would be interested in and she was spot on with her choices. She helped us decide what cabinets, knobs, handles and colors would work best for our dream kitchen. When I say we have our dream kitchen we really got our dream kitchen and more because Emily was able to configure the space to allow our hearts desire. It was 'absolute black' in a 'leathered' finish (really pretty finish that is not at all smooth or shiny, instead it has a 'pitted' appearance). So, I decided to go with them again for the kitchen countertops - a much bigger and more expensive job. I ordered the same granite, absolute black leathered. I wasnt at home when they arrived but my boyfriend was there and when I got home I realized that I did not get the same finish - I think its absolute black but not leathered. Instead its rather shiny which is exactly what I was trying to avoid.... To top it off, the piece was damaged and quite chipped along the back edge so it looks pretty messy and will require a thick back-splash to cover the edge which I had not been intending to use.

There were areas that were not polished properly and the area around the sink was clearly damaged and filled in with resign, and looked awful. They had sent a couple of workers to try and correct it, didn't go well. The second time they sent workers I requested a manager to come out. We didn't want them to remove the countertop for fear of them damaging the New Cabinets. Although they did attempt to correct it, it was not accomplished. Again, the countertop should never have been sent for installation. Quality control is missing.
