If you like Garlic and Cheese chips - The Noggin Grill does the best in the country. Tom, the owner, tends to layer the chips, garlic and cheese so you dont eat all the cheese in the first few bites. The half pounder (and all other burgers) are amazing too. They also do a battered mars bar, I havent tried it but there is a whale who I often see in there and she seems to order them every time so they must be good.

We went as a group for a family birthday dinner. Service was ok, but nothing spectacular. I found the menu quite limited as the night we were there, they had a lot of fish/seafood dishes on. I had soup for a starter, and I ate it. My main was chicken and I didn't finish it as it wasn't particularly nice. I didn't find it particularly comfortable, as we were pushed up against a wall, and some poor souls had to sit with their backs to the roaring fireplace 1 foot behind them. They were baking. I think they really could have arranged the seating better, and I always get annoyed when places take a large booking, but yet can't manage to comfortably fit everyone in. I couldn't wait to leave.

More surprising was that it was pretty busy almost immediately on opening. So last night I decided to give it a shot. The area is pretty well served by takeaways, and has lots of chippers, but with the notable exception of Borza, they tend lack a certain lustre. So its a pretty bold move to open a takeaway in an area saturated with takeaways and only a few feet from one of them. So Hillbilly's is basically american style food - lots of fried chicken. They also seem to have pies, which I didn't order this time. There are a few high stools but this really is a takeaway. I went for chili chicken breast in a bun meal, which cost about 7 euro - so certainly comparable price with the other local takeaways. However when I got it home I was happily surprised to find that it was much better quality. Everything seemed fresher and even the bread was not your packet bun usual standard. I can see why it got so busy so fast. I just hope they keep it up.
