He came up with a bid, and we agreed to go forward. The total bid was around $15,000. I had to pay him $9,000 to "secure myself as the next job he did". He gave me a rough estimate of when he could start. Within that time, I had a series of bad luck, and was forced to sell the house. I called him and explained my situation. At first he said he would give me a complete refund, but later that day he sent me a long text about being a Godly man, and being that, he couldn't give me a refund. After texting with him some more, he agreed to refund me $5,300. I only ever got $4,500 back from him. I'm guessing it was all he had left of my money, because he's borrowing from Peter, to pay Paul. I am now debating small claims court for my remaining money. All in all, I knew this guy for a month. Don't waste your money, time, and hopes on this guy.

They scraped the old ceiling finish off, and relocated and replaced a busted attic access. The rehung multiple doors, replaced busted deck steps, and built a huge fence and RV gate for me. The work was extensive, and the pricing for the fence was super reasonable and it came out crazy nice! Honestly I was surprised at the quotes as I expected them to try to take me to the cleaners as most of the contractors I have dealt with out here were super pricey. Change out a light switch plate? Sure, for twenty bucks. Here's the kicker though, and what sets them apart from the rest; I live in AZ. Giving contractors access to a house unsupervised can make the most trustworthy person think twice. I have cameras set up throughout my house though, and every day they were there early in the morning, doing the work without needing to be supervised. Every night they cleaned up after themselves and locked up and not once did I catch any of their guys in the master bedroom trying on the wife's lingerie when nobody was looking. Nadja stayed in touch with me throughout the entire process and never got annoyed at my repeated questions, or 'suggestions' no matter how stupid they were. Hometown Handyman rocks to say the least. I had a couple of requests as to placement of downspouts due to a look we were trying to keep uncluttered. That was well received. The estimate was several hundred dollars less than I had gotten from another company that I was familiar with. I checked their reviews which were favorable and awarded them the job. They had a few jobs in front of me and put me on the calendar for a few weeks down the road which was fine. I was planning on having the house painted during this time but other things took priority and when they arrived for the work it wasn't done. I realized I would have to pull the downspouts down when painting time did arrive and I mentioned this to Adam who seemed to be the lead man. He came to the rescue immediately and stated they would do all the work and return when I had done the painting and install the downspouts. I was really impressed by his desire to be customer service friendly. They truly did an expert job as there were a couple of difficulties caused by prior construction errors they pointed out and engineered around them. The job was truly professionally done. When the painting was finished (five months later) I gave them a call. I wondered if they would remember me as I had paid them in full but they in fact did and came out the next morning at 0730 and installed the downspouts. Again having to do some gutter engineering to meet my construction requirements. They went well beyond anything I would have expected. Courteous and professional from the beginning to the end and saving me time and money at their own expense. I really appreciate this bunch. Without hesitation I recommend them. They are THE BEST!!!

While he did complete the charger installation without issue, the problems began with the washing machine. He assured me he could repair it and proceeded to order a replacement part from Amazon. The part didn't fix the issue, and he then told me he wouldn't be able to return to remove it for about two weeks. He suggested I call another appliance specialist, which I did. The new technician told me that no reputable repair professional would ever order washing machine parts from Amazon, as doing so can cause permanent damage. Unfortunately, this is exactly what happened--my washer's circuit board was fried, and I ultimately had to purchase a new machine. While he was at my home, he also left his toolbox behind. I texted him about it, and he said he was busy for the next two weeks but would let me know when he could pick it up. After a week and three days with no follow-up, I reached out again for a firm date and time. The screenshots attached show the conversation that followed. He left my home messy and did not clean up after himself. His demeanor throughout the process was extremely unprofessional. I followed up only because he said he would get back to me, and when I held him accountable, he responded poorly. If you need any kind of home service, I strongly recommend choosing another provider. As a business owner, it is the owner's responsibility to communicate with clients regarding scheduling, timelines, and any delays. When my fiancé followed up, the technician responded in a highly unprofessional manner, including the use of profanity. Using inappropriate language toward clients reflects a lack of professionalism and respect. He accused my fiancé of "spreading toxicity," yet the only toxic behavior we encountered was in the tone and content of his own messages. This level of disrespect, especially coming from a business owner, is extremely concerning. Regarding the services requested, we initially inquired about installing a Tesla charger. Immediately afterward, we asked whether he also repairs washing machines, and he stated that he does. He was fully aware that the consultation was for both the charger installation and the washing machine repair; this was communicated clearly, and he acknowledged it. He also mentioned that his company policy prohibits ordering appliance parts from Amazon, yet he asked us to order the parts on his behalf. This alone indicates that he knew the practice was inappropriate. We ultimately had another appliance specialist come to evaluate the washing machine. That technician was visibly frustrated by the poor quality of the previous repair attempt.
