I waited behind a single person getting checked out who was chatting with the cashier for 10 minutes about politics, life, sports, etc, after which they said "nice to meet you", (I thought they had been long time friends). The cashier finally got to me and I said I had an appt and he said oh then I'll take you to the other worker because I have to help these other people. The other worker said "what time is your appt" and I said 12:40. He said, with a brash tone, "well it's 12:25 so you can wait 15 minutes while I help this other guy". This other guy - who CAME IN AFTER ME AND DIDN'T HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. I was obviously like no, that's not how this works. I not only showed up before the other guy, I also had the foresight to make an actual appointment, and just because I'm 15 minutes early you're going to punish me, and be a complete jerk about it? The other guy behind me said it was fine, I should go first, so I did. The guy helping me then took my measurements and filled out a slip, gave it to me, and said to take it to the store in Chicago next weekend and they'll have my order ready for me. I literally said "are you sure this is all I have to do?", because it seemed too easy. And he literally said "yes." Next weekend I call the store in Chicago and they have NO ORDER IN MY NAME WHATSOEVER. The guy never put my order in. Fortunately the lady was very helpful and she got me fitted quickly and got a tux rental ready for me on the spot and it all worked out, but my entire trip to this store in clackamas was a complete waste of time, and I'm pretty sure that this vindictive guy intended on screwing me over. I suppose the moral is to show up for your appointment exactly at the appt time, even though that would mean you then would have to wait past your appt time because they'd be currently helping other people. In other words, WHAT THE F IS THE POINT OF MAKING AN APPOINTMENT?!?!?

I brought my Blundstones here to have the soles replaced and was charged $120. When I dropped them…read moreoff, I was told the new soles were high quality and that the boots would essentially last me a long time. Based on that explanation and the price, I expected a professional, durable repair. When I picked the boots up, it became clear that the soles had been glued on. The shop owner later stated that this was explained upfront, though I don't personally recall it being emphasized in a way that made it clear this would be a glue-only repair with no stitching or reinforcement. Regardless, I was not expecting the quality of the work to be this poor. The glue job looked sloppy, and the soles started coming apart not long after I got them back. If I had understood that this repair would be glue-only and done at this level of quality, I would not have gone through with it and would have put the money toward a new pair of boots instead. I no longer live in Portland, so I wasn't able to return immediately. About six months later, when I was back in town, I brought the boots in again. To his credit, he agreed to redo the gluing . Unfortunately, even after the second attempt, the work still looks messy and you can still see the glue coming apart in some places. Although he was somewhat nice about it, for the price charged and the expectations set about longevity, this was a big disappointment. Fair warning to customers considering a sole replacement here: in my experience, the repair was glue-only, and the quality did not match the cost.

And it sat like that for three days because I was up in Seattle when the soup-collision happened. I did sprinkle some talcum powder on it, but I didn't want to risk destroying the fiber or color by washing it. I was so unhappy, I couldn't even look at it. The good folks at Promise Cleaners took one look at it, frowned and said, "Ooooohhhhhhh." Pretty much unable to guarantee it would come out. Which, understandable. It's a greasy, red soup stain on fine silk. But it came back today.... Looking like a million bucks! Gorgeous job! These folks are miracle workers.
