We had our lawnmower picked up from C&K. Had a tune up done and the deck had broke in a couple of spots and the steering was shot. Chuck one of the mechanics fixed the steer issue , did the tune up and found the broken areas and welded them for us. Always check the reviews before purchasing an item or contracting for a service from a business with which you have never had prior experience. Had I followed this simple step, I would have prevented the theft of my riding lawn mower by C&K Small Engine Repair in Dimondale, Mi. On March 20th I authorized C&k to pick up my riding lawn mower. I signed authorization for them to do a routine tune up and blade sharpening. I should add that when I stored by mower in my garage in the late Fall it was running fine, and I had no reason to believe it needed more than routine service. On Wednesday, April 9th I was notified that they were unable to start the mower, but had identified the problem as a needed new ignition switch was needed and they would call me when the mower was ready to be returned to me. Since I received no return call, I called back on April 14th and was informed that the mower engine showed no compression and would likely have to be trashed, and would be returned to me for a nominal $25 return fee. In subsequent phone calls the position of C&K changed several times as to the terms of the return of the mower with the owner finally taking the position that my mower would only be returned if I pay for an unspecified amount for the labor on my now inoperable mower. In my last conversation with the owner I referenced the scathing reviews that C&K had received from prior customers. The owner acknowledged that he had received many bad reviews, but said that these reviews were several years old. My experience shows that the subsequent years have not changed either the honesty or competence of this company. Buyer beware! read more

i picked up my 2016 craftsman after nothing done after 28 days. the mechanics blamed the owner for total lack of comunication the owner just plain ignored my calls, tects and e-mails i sent more than once a week. they kept my $40 dollars i left for an estimate that i never received. i think that how they make thier money cause i've been there three times and never seen anyone working read more

OK, your only job is to repair small engines, that's what you do, right? I bring in a common lawnmower because it stalls out after running a minute or so and after four days they tell me it's the carburetor, so they order that, six days later they tell me it wasn't that. It's the engine, and it's shot, no compression. Really? I paid $40. and waited ten days for them to tell me that. They should've been able to figure that out in one day. Normally I give a place a second chance, but my buddy told me they were clueless on a similar situation. read more

Everything indicates they open at 9:00 am. They actually open when they show up. This is my 3rd year trying to catch someone there and thinking maybe it was just a fluke before. If you can get in the door, they're nice folks and do a great job. read more

Drop off my lawnmower and people walking around do not even acknowledge you. Sears told me to bring it to this place and it will be covered under the sears protection agreement . If it was not for that I would've taken it somewhere else. On top of that they tell me one and a half to two weeks before it can be repaired. read more

Chain saw repair. This company is listed on the Poulan website as an authorized service repair location for warranty repairs on Poulan products. My chain saw was under warranty so I took it there to replace a broken vibration spring. They had the saw for 59 business day and never did make the repair. I called periodically over the 59 business days and was told it was being worked on but every spring they were sent was the wrong on. On the day I picked up the saw, I questioned the front desk person as to why it was so difficult getting the correct spring from the manufacturer, that's when I learned that they are authorized for repair by Lowes and Menards and not the manufacturer. Plus, the saw was returned to me in a partially disassembled condition; that's not how it was when I initially dropped it off. I asked to speak to the owner that day and was told he was not there but would be in the next day and she would have him call me. He never called! That doesn't surprise me given how the place is run and the very poor or non-existent workmanship I saw relative to my saw. I would not recommend doing business with this entity. read more

Menards told me to take me brand new $1000 generator they do our warranty work. So I go tell them it's not producing electricity. So I get charged for cleaning the carburetor. Mind you brand new. New generator,new gas can, fresh gas only ran 1/2 he while trying to get electricity. Guy won't answer my questions, he just turns his back and walks away from me. I will never take anything there again. Too bad can't give lower than 1star read more
