Great service! Take it from Logan Airport to Portsmouth from time to time. Fair prices, buses leave frequently and punctually. Great service with a friendly, professional driver. C&J has become my go-to mode of travel for trips to New England. Their buses are consistently affordable. Your paid assigned seat is clean, spacious, and comes with an outlet. I've yet to have wi-fi issues, but that's not a big deal for me. I deplore public restrooms, and avoid them as much as humanly possible. However, the restrooms on the buses have yet to gross me out. There are people that don't know how to act in public, and could potentially ruin your trip, if you let them. Thankfully, that hasn't been the case with my fellow C&J riders! Arrival is ideally about 15 minutes prior to boarding, even with assigned seating. Love the amenities! There's a plethora of goodies in the back of the bus, especially if you just woke up before hauling ass to Gate 2 of Port Authority. C&J bus lines have just brought me closer to friends and family in nyc. I used to drive myself, but taking the bus is so much safer. It's like a have a private driver to nyc. Buses are luxury. No diesel smells or gear changing noises... windows are clean, Wi-Fi is good. Watched tv on my iPad the whole time. Drivers were excellent. Friendly and nice and competent. On December 9th, 2022 I missed my bus. Okay this was my fault, I get it. I call the company phone line at 7:55am and this very rude woman answered the phone. She refused to help me rebook, said I was lying even though shortly after she contacted the driver and found out I was indeed telling the truth about what time the bus left the gate because they could pull the data on when the bus unlocked their breaks. She ended the call by saying "I cant help you but please contact the customer service line when it opens at 8am which is in 5 minutes. I call at 8am, and the exact same person answered the line with "Hi! This is customer service"..... Will do everything I can to not use this company for my travel plans ever again after this experience. read more

By far the worst experience ever! Anywhere! I was waiting for the bus driver at Logan airport at 5:50p for the driver to come for a scheduled 6:10p to drive me from Boston Logan airport to portsmouth, NH on Sunday dec 5. The bus came at around 6:00p but never made any announcement and never opened the bottom of the bus to collect my luggage. I even look straight at him, make eye contact and he just stands there as if he is waiting for others to show up. He then without announcement or talking to me gets into the bus and then turns his engine on as if to take off. I pound on the door to let me in, but then looks me straight in the eye, shrugs his shoulders as if to say "sorry your fault too bad" and then starts to take off. I went on the website and found the customer service number. I get a hold of a person named Shana and tell her I would like to make a complaint. When I proceed to tell her what happened she asks me if the bus driver made an announcement and I tell her no. She never apologized on the company's behalf but simply says that she's sure the driver did the right thing. I was shocked! I asked her if what the driver did was acceptable and she again defended the driver as if it was her her best friend. She then tells me that the manager is out of town until the following day and would take down my name and number and give it to the manager to call me back. She then told me if I wanted to write an email found on the website that the email would go directly to the VP. I ask her where on the website since I was looking right at it and I couldn't find it. (I looked again and i still couldn't find it- https://www.ridecj.com/contact/ ). She tells me in a belittling way to go to "contact us " and it would be on the bottom of the page. She spoke to me in a belittling way but if it's on there it's hard to find. I asked her if she needed my info and she just proceeded to tell me she already had it somehow (guessing it was by caller ID) but because my whole experience woth the driver and the call was wanting and because i never received an apology i asked her if the call was being recorded for training and quality assurance and she simply tells me it wasn't and that i was the one being rude (she got upset when i corrected her on the pronunciation of my name), that she was going to tell on the manager about my rudeness and hung up on me. The irony. Again the worst service anywhere but what do you expect from a company who doesn't record conversations for training and quality control? Exactly what i got. Lesson learned. If you can travel with anyone else anyhow else please do so. You'll thank me later. read more

Every aspect of their service is excellent. Clean and comfortable buses, great amenities, safe and courteous drivers. Wow. The price is nearly double what you might pay for one of the bargain buses out of Boston but then again the price is less than half what you'd pay for a train. And if you're going to NYC from, say, the Merrimack Valley, the Tewksbury location is soooo convenient (free parking) and YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO INTO BOSTON. read more

An amazing company. I've been traveling C&J from NYC to NH for years and it's always been a great experience. The seats are way more spacious than Greyhound/Peter Pan. Customer service is also exceptional. I had a family emergency and had to cancel a ticket and they gave me a full refund. This isn't their normal policy but due to the severity of the situation, they were more than willing to help, which most companies wouldn't. read more

We just took C&J bus from Tewksbury to NYC and back and everything was as described on website. The seats were comfy and roomy, the water, Keurig and snacks appreciated, a blanket and pillow an added treat. The drivers both ways were very good and professional. The bus left promptly each time. I do wish there were more trips to NY from this location but I can see there are not enough passengers to justify additional trips. We will take this bus again and will recommend to others. read more

Definitely as good as a bus service gets. Taken it in the past and have found it roomy, easy to get on and off, and friendly. More freebies and leg room offered than many airlines. I recently had a terrible experience with another carrier and got stranded in the middle of Connecticut on my way to Boston to catch a Portsmouth bound C&J bus. I ended up missing my C&J connection and turned back around to NYC. Despite that the issue was with the other carrier, C&J still refunded my tickets with out a hassle. I heard back from them via email only a few hours after writing them. I am still waiting to hear back from the other bus service regarding a refund. If you are New England bound, C&J seems to be the way to go as far as buses are concerned. read more

I took C & J to Portsmouth NH. Previously I would take boltbus to Boston and my friends would just come to south station to pick me up. I'll never go back to that! At first I just booked for convenience, as to not have my friends drive the 40 min for pick up. When we printed our tickets I saw assigned seat #'s and thought that was annoying/weird. But when I stepped onto the bus and saw how the seats were lined up only 2 on one side and 1 on the other side! Limited seating and lots of leg room/space! The bus looked clean and comfy! Then I get to the back and they have a whole snack counter set up full of pop corner chips, raisins, granola bars, nuts, apples and a k-cup machine with coffee and tea! It doesn't stop there! As far as bus bathrooms goes, this one takes the cake bc it had running water in the sink. (There's just something gross about only being able to wash your hands with hand sanitizer -though there was a dispenser for that too.) They also give 2 movies on the trip and free earbuds in case you don't have your own. Very clean and comfortable! I want to go to NH all the time just bc it felt like such an easy comfortable ride over! Don't do boltbus if you don't have to! There are a lot of complaints I see here about the free wifi. True it really didn't work. But I wasn't expecting it to work. The Bolt bus wifi almost never works. I guess bus lines shouldn't advertise free wi-fi in general until they can actually get it to function! p.s. if you're leaving from Port Authority, NYC its gate 2 on the south side of the station, downstairs! read more

I'm very happy to write a review for C&J. My family lives in Andover, Ma and due to the explosions in the area, my family was evacuated. When I contacted their customer number they offered a refund due to the unusual circumstances. This was greatly appreciated. However, I realized how overdue this review was...I have been traveling from NYC to Tewksbury with C&J for more than a year and their service is immaculate: the drivers are very well trained in their professional attitude towards their job and customer service. It's better than flying no airport hassle and I get to relax, there is a very clean bathroom and snacks and drinks that you can obtain as you desire. I love the fact that is a quiet ride, use of phone is limited to emergencies and WiFi works perfectly. Looking forward to traveling soon, highly recommended bus service. read more

The bus is fine, but I need REAL WIFI, not pretend Wifi. They advertise something that doesn't work. Never has worked every time i have ridden. They got the weakest they could so they could say, yeah we have free WiFi, but you can't actually use it/ what's the point- false advertising? $75? C'mon!!!! read more

I love C and J. My boyfriend and I were long distance for 2 years and the C&J allowed us to visit each other more frequently. Always safe and reliable. The drivers, especially Bear, are great. It's a little expensive but so worth it for the wifi, steaming, snacks, and great service. read more

I took the C & J Bus line from NYC to NH and was pleasantly surprised. Price was great so I had fairly low expectations but the bus was clean, spacious inside & comfortable. They had a little snack/beverage bar that was free with all sorts of choices & even coffee. Highly recommend. read more

Just did a round trip to Portsmouth NH. Excellent service both ways. Clean and comfortable buses. Friendly driver and staff. Snacks etc in the back. Early arrivals on both ends (by 10 - 15 minutes). Wifi didn't work very well though. But then I've never found trains or buses to New England have very good Wifi. read more

First, I take a variety of options for travel, from Amtrak to Bolt to Greyhound to rental car and had an overall positive experience. C& J was the first public transit to make me feel like more then a customer. I had to change my travel plans ALMOST last minute over the holidays and was told about a possible refund. I usually love this bus but this trip Portsmouth to NYC (10:30am on a weekday) the driver stopped twice to use the bathroom and make himself coffee, we went through a weigh station for no reason, and then stopped again to switch drivers. We also took an unfamiliar route in - don't know if it was to avoid traffic that we ended up hitting anyway but this was by far the least productive and error-filled journey I've ever taken. Wish I knew both driver's names as I would go out of my way to avoid this again. read more
