Since this location is relatively new, they had a grand opening event in summer 2025 where they had free food - burgers, hot dogs, Mac and cheese, beans, pastries, etc. During the year, they'll sometimes give me random free swag like t-shirts and magnets (to help with sorting). When I have a lot of stainless steel, I'll drive onto their outdoor big weight, they let me know once they've recorded starting weight, drop off my metal, then drive back onto the scale for ending weight. Since they've gotten to know who I am, when I come into the building, they already have my account pulled up to issue the money. Prices do fluctuate slightly throughout the year, but they have the prices posted on a screen by the money office. When I have more lucrative metals (brass, copper, aluminum, etc.), I have noticed they prefer to have it weighed inside since they sort/store it inside. They have the same 2-3 guys weighing and paying out so it does start to feel like a little family. There was one time where one of the guys was even giving me pointers on how to maximize my earnings which I really appreciated. Their hours are okay. I do like that they are open on Saturdays for a few hours. During the winter they had longer hours which aligned better with my work schedule.

I would recommend this business to anyone looking to scrap things as he seems to have a great handle on his business. Jeff took the time to message me on yelp after I posted the tip on it being tricky to navigate the street with the heavy customer truck traffic they have. His message to me showed that he is concerned about the impact his business has on the neighborhood and trying to make it better for all. There are other businesses on the street with truck traffic so this place isn't all to blame! At times it's very difficult to pass this business as trucks block the street while waiting or unloading scrap metal. Sometimes people stop in the middle of the street to unload. A suggestion to all who visit this place would be to remember you at most likely parking on a street used to access a neighborhood. Please be mindful of that and obey the "no parking" signs the business put up. It's difficult to see around the corner that this business located on, add parked trucks to the mix and it's impossible to see if someone is exiting the property while your coming around the corner. Watch the lot for RISD vans. Both the students (from RISD) and the recycle center are small, but quite serious about what they do.

A dumpy place…read more Years ago this place would have been called a dump, now it's a recycling facility. Doesn't matter what they call it, it's still pretty dumpy. Dirty, stinky with piles of stuff everywhere, you will definitely need a shower after visiting this place. But then that's not necessarily a bad thing. Warwick likes to recycle and does a pretty damn good job of it. Over 10,000 tons of stuff like cans, bottles cardboard, electronics. plastic and even major appliances are collected and recycled. The town even makes most of the recycling painless and easy for it's people. Warwick has curb pickup for a lot of the crap but for certain items like yard waste or huge kitchen appliances it is sometimes easier just to bring the stuff to the recycling center yourself. Sure a it's dirty and stinky place but pretty cool in it's own way. Lots of stuff to look at and I always have fun there. Even though Warwick has a very commendable and aggressive recycling program it goes beyond just that. It lets residents come and take nice stinky compost for free. Every year we go and get several truck loads for our garden. Even though we have our own compost bin we just never seem to have enough of the stuff. Now we can get all we want. Recycling is a stinky and sometimes nasty job but so very, very necessary. Warwick makes the job easy with curbside pickup and the recycling center. Plus you can even get all the stinky compost you want. The world is a better because of dirty and stinky places like this.
