I had a very disappointing experience with Mike Marine. When I initially spoke with Bryan, I was…read moreassured that he was an authorized Evinrude mechanic, which gave me confidence to move forward with the repair. I dropped off my lower unit for installation, expecting professional service. After several days, I found out they didn't even have the proper software to calibrate my actuator--something that should be basic for a shop claiming Evinrude expertise. That was already a red flag. It got worse after I took my boat home. When I tilted the engine up, oil poured out of the motor, indicating that something was clearly mishandled or improperly reassembled. Overall, this experience left me feeling like they lack the necessary tools, knowledge, and attention to detail to perform reliable work. I would not recommend this shop if you want your boat serviced correctly. The boat was dirty. The cables were hanging. Now I have to take my boat to some other shops.

I seriously regret not reading the reviews before bringing my boat to GT Boats in Cordelia. This…read moreplace is a joke. The entire experience was a disaster, characterized by zero communication, complete disregard for customer service, and blatant unprofessionalism. When I first met Lou, he seemed friendly, but then I was hit with a cloud of marijuana smoke following him out of his office. Fine, I don't judge, but it's hard to trust someone who can't stay sober enough to run a business. When my boat trailer was towed to GT Boats, Lou had promised to move my boat and trailer to the back of the shop within 30 minutes and find a place for it. I left it in his hands and awaited for his update. However after a few days with no updates, no returned calls, and no communication whatsoever, I got suspicious. I stopped by at 6 a.m. to find my boat still sitting on the street--4 days later. I immediately called Lou from my cell phone, but it went straight to voicemail. When I called from my work phone, he picked up right away. I asked why I hadn't received any updates and why my boat was still on the street. He gave me the excuse that he was still looking for parts and claimed he'd move my boat at once. I told him I was worried about my gear being stolen, and he assured me not to worry. At that point, I realized I couldn't trust this guy to do the work he promised. Three days later, my boat was still sitting on the street 1 full week after dropping it off, so I called a tow company to take it away. Lou's either scamming people or too busy getting high to actually run a business. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs.
