I recently purchased a GTI from Bytek. The colour I wanted was not available, so I ended up having to order one from the factory and wait almost six months. This was beyond the control of the dealership, in fact, they had tried everything they could to get me a red GTI from another dealership, but were unsuccessful. While the wait was frustrating, my experience with my salesman "Abdalla" and the sales manager "Chris" was all positive. They went above and beyond to try and get me my red GTI. When it arrived in November, it was well worth the wait and I ended up with a "2026" model for the same price, (thanks to a discount from the dealership that covered the price increase) so I was very happy. Made an account here just to post a review here. I would give Bytek VW no stars but I cant. The reason for this review is because on May 6 2020 I bought my car here for service on my power window and horn. After finding the appointment I made a week in advance could not be found was told they were would get to my car when possible. I called after 3 for an update and was told my car was just brought into the shop. Great. So at 4 I get a ride to there location after work and once again call for an update. I was told my car was in the shop and the tech checked the modual and it was fine so it must be a electrical issue. So I asked and verified my car was in the shop as we are speaking, being worked on and if the door panel was off and was told yes. Guess where I'm standing? Outside the dealership next to my car looking through the windows and when I tell them this hear a surprised "oh crap you are here" from the service rep on the phone. Now how can my car be being worked on and outside at the exact same time? Are there techs wizards? No obviously I was being lied to and if did not catch them in the act would have been charged 230 bucks for the diagnostic. Beware if you bring your vehical here they may try to lie to you about work being done and take your money like they tried doing with me. Oh and if you catch them in the act of lying they will try to give you a weak excuse like maybe the service rep was confused about what car was in the shop. read more

I have personally have a very disheartening experience with Bytek's Service Department Manager. I drive a 2019 VW Jetta who has had some issues with rattling of different parts inside of the car (only 1 was confirmed the 1st time I serviced the car). The rattling was fixed, however within a few days the part broke down due to poor service quality. I decided to wait until the next service (30k) to have the rattling issue, plus the other ones, that have become far more pronouced. However to my surprise, I was told by the Service Manger that my car is out of warranty and I would have to pay for the fixes. I decided to contact the dealership that I bought the car (in Montreal) and they said that my car is still under warranty and I can take it to MTL to have it fixed. Being too far, I took it to another dealeship who has fixed all of the issues and gave me a free car wash. I have filed a formal complaint with VW Canada and have informed the Service Manager about my experience. He apologized and informed me that some of their staff is new to the brand and the dealer. read more

After having the worst experience with Volkswagen Myers in Kanata I decided to give Bytek in Ottawa a go. The service parts guys are amazing and so is Kelly behind the desk. They listened to what my problem was and was pleased when it was taken care of immediately. Friendly and great sense of humor. No appointment necessary. Total cost 200.43 Myers was going to cost me 580 approximately and had to make an appointment (10 days for the first appointment). Ugggggggg never go to Myers Volkswagen in Kanata. In trying to talk with a sales person about buying a car, I faced this: salesman eating an apple as he asked me if I "wanted something"; salesman wipes mouth on sleeve as I ask to speak with someone about a particulr model; salesman shrugs and says there are only 2 people on and the other guy is busy and he needs to do sonething; salesman walks away, tosses apple core in the garbage. I waited where I was to see if he was coming back. He didn't. So I headed to the door. As I opened it, he asked which car. I said 2013 Golf. "2013!?" He laughs. "You're kidding. We sold those last year." I left. read more

More recent visits have yielded much much nicer people and efficient service. They must have been having a bad day. Or I was. Lol

Simply put, this service department doesn't care if they waste your time. Dropped car off first thing in the morning before it was even open. Wrote down that I would be back to get the car at 3:30pm. Showed up at 3:50pm and car wasn't ready until 4:15pm. This is unacceptable waste of customers time. Will never be back. read more

Worst experience buying a car ever. Salesperson was a total jerk. Why did I buy my car there? Because it was in short supply and they could get me one within a reasonable time frame. Just one of the incidents that occurred with my purchase at Bytek - they delivered my car to me without any ownership - seriously. No ownership = no insurance. Even though they had 2 months to arrange this, they just didn't bother. For those who don't know, you are not supposed to drive off the lot without ownership papers. However, I had no choice but to drive off the lot as I had turned in my previous car which was a lease to the other dealership and had Bytek pick me up there in their customer van. It's not like my picking up the car was a surprise visit. It took several days to get the ownership transferred to my name (because I had to pester them to do it), and then I had to drive without the car being registered in my name to the MTO to have it registered. All of this was illegal, all because the stupid salesperson forgot and couldn't be bothered to help. And he never apologized. Total jerk. I never would go back. I don't service here because of my experience with the sales staff. Awful. read more
