When we got to our lane our table wasn't bussed there was trash and food from the previous guest, in good faith we continued to bowl and after one round all of our balls we're stuck when we noticed we told an employee and they were on it after awhile of waiting one of us decided to continue his turn (no one told us to stop bowling) and the light turned on when he threw his ball so we thought all was well, moments later a lady comes at us being extremely rude and we had no clue as to why. Apparently someone was working on the machine when he threw the ball but we had no knowledge of that. For being the only alley left in town, and bowling alleys falling left and right, it's nice to have it here. However, it would be really nice to see some upgrades here and there. I left Winona as a resident 16 years ago, and it seems like everything is exactly the same as when I left. After being failed by the smaller guy, Winona Bowl, Westgate was my last hope! I get there, it was packed!! I knew it. But I go up to the counter. The guy, Zach, sees me and says, "Just one second please." I waited and he says, "Hi! Welcome. What can I do for you?" I said, "We just got kicked out of Winona Bowl for no reason bc I'm not a student. I am a law student, but not a WSU student. Please, we just wanted to bowl one game. Do you have ANYTHING available." "Oh. Not at the moment but I can take your name. It might be 10-15 minutes." "Ok, I said, "That's fine. I'll wait." I went to notify my little sister that we'd need to wait but that we could stay. I turned to head back to his counter and he was coming to look for me. "We have a lane for you right over here!!" "Wow," I said, "Already?? That was fast!" "Yup. Here ya go!" We all then went to get shoes turned to head over to bowl. He said "You gals have fun. Anything else we can do for you, please let me know. I'll be right up here." Food, Fun and a great place to meet up with friends. The Nordic is a nice option for anyone…read morepassing through or looking for a place to unwind after work. They have some food options (fried burgers, fries and other sandwiches, pizza, shakes, chips and popcorn). They also have a game room and bowling that are away from the bar area. Many high school kids hang out after games or on the weekend until about 11pm. Bowling leagues start about September and go through April so call ahead if you would like to bowl to make sure that you can get in. After 9m is cosmic bowling which is something fun for the kids. If you bring your kids, the owners (Dave and Linda) are pretty strict about not allowing them to run through the bar area. So just make sure that they are on the other side or sitting with you in a booth if you eat on the bar side. I think they have a pool league that comes in on Wednesday nights too. The only drawback that I didn't like was the smoke. But with the new laws, that's gotton better. The bathrooms are also a little cold and dirty. Not a huge deal, but nothing fancy.
