I did major repair on my car. I took to them to do the MOT. They failed the MOT because of play in the inner Track rod end of the nearside front. On the day of retest the were very rude and unprofessional. They assumed that my handbrake was not well adjusted. This was only mentioned in the retest with no paperwork proving that and it was not mentioned in the MOT certificate which would make sense because the Brakes were changed before the MOT. I decide to go to another MOT centre and they highlighted the play in the inner track pad end as advisories that need to be monitored and it was not excessive. This was exactly what the MOT certificate from June stated. So what 2 MOT centres highlighted as advisories was a major defect according to Byres Road Garage. read more

Affordable, honest and female friendly. I've used this garage a few times now and I've always been impressed by their honesty. The prices are good and unlike some garages they are female-friendly: you won't be patronised or pressured into getting work done that isn't needed. They tend to be very busy, though, so it's best to book in advance rather than just turn up. read more

Recently the windscreen wipers broke on my car was quoted £310 to replace the whole part plus labour. Thinking this was a bit steep I decided to ring a different garage. I ended up taking my car to Byers Road Garage and paid £268 which was a massive saving for me. The car was looked at and quickly repaired within two hours and the customer was second to none. Both women at reception were very friendly and welcoming and made me feel valued as a customer. I will definitely be using this garage for everything in the future. read more

I live in Fife and my daughter is a student in Glasgow so I found somewhere near to where she lived for an MOT and service. I can't fault them. I spoke to the same person on the phone over two days and she was polite and professional. The work that needed to be done was explained clearly, with the price, which I thought was very reasonable since it's quite an old car and there was a bit of work to be done. My daughter said that they were all 'really nice' when she dropped off and collected the car. read more

DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE!! I took my car in for a new alternator and was quoted £280 so I said to go ahead with the work. Two days later and an hour before i was due to pick up the car, the garage phoned to say that they could not fix the car! as they might break a bolt costing £9!! I said to them that they have had the car for 2 days, and they could have told me before this.....I actually got screamed at! Unbelievable...! Been using Byres Road garage for a long time, but have since fallen out with them for messing me around. Took my car in for an MOT on the Friday which failed on a few silly things. They said they couldnt fix it until the following Wed, which I agreed to. Picked the car up on Wed, and they hadn't fixed anything at all! Not even a new wiper blade or the other work I had asked for! Said it had an electrical problem and they would have to get an auto electrician to fix it but he couldnt look at it until the following Monday. Have now given up and taken the car to a Mercedes specialist. Is a shame because I have used them frequently in the past. Also, if you book your car in for a specific time, they just look at it whenever it suits them!!! Perhaps they need to invest in some decent diagnostic equipment and not overbook themselves. read more

They are a complete waste of time they say they do things they don't I got charged for something they were meant to do but they never did it so they had to give me money back . Told me they could not find my locking nut . But it's ok they said they got the wheels off I àsk next day did u find my locking nut . No we did not need it . We just took your back axel off with wheels on to get bush in both sides . Really so how did they disconnect my breaks how did they talking shit they never took my back axel off lies and don't forget they put a big rip down my cill . This is a small garage located just across from the bottom of Byres Road. I used the garage this week for an MOT and found them to be very efficient and helpful. My car didn't need anything done, but I'd asked about a couple of cosmetic repairs which the garage didn't do, but the mechanic still took the time to find out what I needed to do from Ford. They also sent a text to say my car was ready which was handy. My rating is based on my experience of a routine MOT, I'll certainly go back next year because all the signs are good that if there was a lot of work to do on my motor they'd do a good job. read more

We have used this garage for five or six years and I can't believe there is a better one - anywhere. Marie and Jodie are incredibly knowledgeable and efficient but are also welcoming and friendly. The garage is utterly practical and thoughtful. They seem to manage to fit us in for big or small things that need to be done with the same consideration. Their charges seem to us to be very fair and they are aware that we don't have money to burn. I really enjoy my visits to the garage! read more

Stay away, I was outraged when they charged me 68 pounds labour for 1.5hrs work. That is terrible , there are much better and cheaper places around. Note, ask how much they charge for labour first. read more
