    8. Sugar- Free 3" Coconut Cake

As a diabetic it's sometimes hard to find good, sugar-free goodies but this place did not disappoint! The set up is a little weird, kind of feels uninviting at first. There's a bunch of refrigerators that line the wall and at the time when I went in, nowhere to sit which was fine because I was taking everything to go anyways. There's cookies and turnovers, cakes, eclairs, lemon bars, brownies and even some chocolate. One of my favorites is German chocolate cake so when I found out this place had the sugar free version you know I had to be get it and it was phenomenal! I kept saying to my fiancé, this is sugar free?! I also shared everything with my dad (also diabetic) and he was shocked as well! The coconut cake and tiramisu were very yummy, too! I will say the tiramisu didn't have that much of a coffee flavor which was fine with me but could be an issue for others. We also got some lemon cookies which I probably wouldn't get again as they were super chalky and hard to swallow but overall, everything else hit the mark and I'll definitely be back!

This was a surprise birthday gift from my hubby to me. Being diabetic, it's been really hard to get a birthday cake for me. He drove an hour there and an hour and a half back just to surprise me. He bought me a banana bread and a vanilla cake with strawberry The banana bread was a little dry but the taste was still good. It was a little more solid than we were used to. The birthday cake was fantastic. It was moist and soft and the cream was delicious!!! There was a layer of strawberry jam in it. And I can't stop saying how delicious thay was. I wasn't personally there at the bakery so I cannot comment on service and ambiance.

This was a Doordash order! So this review will only be about the items ordered. We ordered two cakes, Coconut and a Tiramisu. The store sent the correct order, and the cakes were really delicious. They are supposed to be sugar-free. And honestly, I could not tell the difference. They were moist, full of flavor, and perfect size for a little snack!

This came in clutch while I was looking for a birthday cake & desserts for someone diabetic. Located in the same center as Smart & Final. They have quite the selection of baked goods & chocolates... just like their name says, SUGAR FREE. Cannolis, cupcakes, mini 4" cakes, creme brulee, cookies, cheesecakes, eclairs & so much more. We tried their creme brulee & chocolate cake, and coming from someone that's not sugar free... you can't even tell the difference at all. They use whole wheat flour & xylitol as sweetener. Price point a little on the higher side considering it is a specialty bakeshop. Han was so sweet & patient while helping us decide what to get. We will definitely be back.

First time going in here and the place is amazing. The person that helped me was very friendly and helpful. I picked up a few things from there and was not sure how they would taste, since it was all sugar free. I first took a bite out of Tiramisu and Carrot cake and I could not believe the flavors. The Tiramisu and Carrot cake were moist and definitely didn't taste like they were sugar free. The eclair is by far my favorite. It was so good!!!! I highly recommend this place.

Blueberry turnover, Chocolate eclair, Tiramisu, and Fudge brownie..all very tasty!

Low carb, sugar-free, and tasty pastries?..yes, it is possible at this bakery! Everything we purchased were delicious and inspiring..worth every penny. We tried the blueberry turnover as I was craving a flaky pastry with fruit filling, tiramisu, fudge brownie, and chocolate eclair. I wouldn't have suspected these were sugar-free if I hadn't already known about the thoughtful mission of this bakery. My discerning sweet-tooth hubby even enjoyed these treats and questioned whether they were really sugar-free lol..that's how good they were! A visit to this bakery is a pleasant treat!

Over baked very dry crescent cookies!

Is this place open? They do not answer the phone during stated business hours. Their website is down. Their answering machine says they are closed from 21st - 25th of apparently June 2022. It is now August 2022. Help.

Do you have any dairy free and gluten free stuff?

What are their low carb options? Sugar free doesn't mean low carb ( and carbs equal issues for diabetics) their menu doesn't explain it?

It seems like their claim is using a sugar substitute in their baked goods instead of real sugar. This can only be good, however the #1 ingredient in most of their baking is flour. Flour is problematic because it's almost pure starch which is… Read more

Does this bakery have low carb bakery items (plus sugar free)?

Yes, indeed, that is their USP.

Does the bakery sell ketogenic options made with ingredients such as almond or coconut flour and erythritol/stevia?

We were there a couple of weeks ago and they do not use almond flour or coconut flour but they do use erythritol for sweetening their goodies. We chose items that did not have or had very minimum flour such as chocolates, cheesecake, coconut… Read more

The location of…read morethis well-known Japanese/French bakery was unusual in that it's isolated in a corner of the El Camino Plaza. I had expected the business to be in a more high volume area, however a benefit of their corner spot was that the parking lot had plenty of spaces. There's no indoor seating, but outdoor tables were set up along the north and east perimeters of the building. I was by myself at this latest visit, and it was close to the end of the day so the inventory was quite depleted. There was no line at all which was not a surprise. The famous Strawberry Croissants and prepackaged items were on refrigerated display to the left when you walked in. As the service counter rounded a corner, there were more fresh baked goods on display before you reached a register. Across from the registers were shelves containing bags of fresh bread products. I bought a Strawberry Croissant, a Sticky Bun, a Ham and Cheese Croissant, and an Apple Croissant. The quality of the pastry dough was very good, and I could see why the Strawberry Croissant was a favorite with the customers. The croissants were light and flakey, and the powdered sugar added a delicate topping to the strawberry version. If I were to rate on just the Strawberry Croissant, then it would be five stars. My overall rating was downgraded because of the customer traffic flow. The lines can be optimized so that if you wanted to buy a six-pack of the Strawberry Croissants and/or anything prepackaged, then a separate queue should be arranged for those customers. The cafeteria trays were of limited use if you were not getting a large number of items. As you advanced in the queue, other products had to be requested from a worker behind the counter and then those were not placed on the tray. Ultimately, I think they can configure the operation to more efficiently handle the higher volume periods of the day.

Scratch Bakery Cafe is located in a big plaza with Trader Joe. There are many people outside sitting and eating. You order up front and pay before getting a table. Right when you walk in, there are tons of bags filled with English Muffins, however, they are called Manna buns for trademark reasons. The Manna buns come in plain, sesame, and everything seasonings. I ended up going with plain. The bun is super yummy. I made eggs and avocado sandwich with the bun and couldn't wait to eat them every day. They are pretty big, so I only eat half. They also sell bakery items. I got an oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that was delicious and a Banana's Foster Knock Knock. I absolutely love this and so happy the lady suggested it. It was like an upgraded ding dong but like a banana nut cake and chocolate. Overall, if you're looking for English muffins or some sweet this is definitely your place to try.

Of the $100 dollars I spent getting a variety of goodies, here's my breakdown: The ding dong things- way too chocolatey rich with minimal cream filling, never again The Chicago bran muffin delicious, sticky with nuts and raisins I think The cinnamon rolls, meh, never again, dry not expected The buns, made hamburgers at home they were actually better than expected! Soft light The cream puffs they tasted decent but left an afterfilm of the full fat cream in the center so never again The strawberry custard croissants were my favorite, this outshined them all! If am ever in the area I would get those for sure. But for the prices being so much, not sure why people frequent this place.
