The food was superb. We enjoyed a complimentary plate of goat cheese, olives, and seasoned chips while waiting for our entrees. Our four entrees were amazing. The chicken and lamb were tender and beautifully seasoned. The bread was hot and fresh. We went on Mothers Day evening and waited about 45 minutes for our entrees. read more

This is the very best middle-Eastern food in the area. Everything is fresh and delicious and the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. I highly recommend it! read more

Amazing, authentic, made from scratch food. If this were a DDD review it would be called a trip to flavor town with all the trimmings. When you want an exceptional Greek food experience and live in Haymarket, Gainesville or Bristow - you're a quick trip away from one of the best. read more

Ordered this for delivery. Amazing food! Never been in person but would love to go again. Portions are kind of small but every dish taste amazing. read more

Fantastic food and the most impeccable service. Stopped in from far out of town and was immediately welcomed and made to feel at home. Good selection of vegetarian options, the hummus is incredible. Will definitely be traveling back just to dine here again. read more

Decided to visit Byblos when Panera was jammed during lunch. Great decision! I got a lamp pizza that was really big enough for 2 people. It has a thin crust, lots of cheese and I have Never tasted such a great roasted tomato! And, it was lamb! Can't wait for my leftover for lunch tomorrow! My wife had a lamb pita wrap that she enjoyed; ("it was very good."). Service was the reason for 4 star. Very inattentive waitress. Not sure why; not that busy. We were not in a hurry, and no one else appeared to be either since no one had left while we were there. Great place for a late-lunch, meeting site. The coffee was a little strong to my liking but extra cream solved that issue. Will definitely return. Next time, will check out the deserts. read more

We have enjoyed dinner at Byblos twice now. The food is very good and service is wonderful. Very homestyle, authentic Mediterranean. We even had belly dancing entertainment one Friday night. Definitely recommend. read more

Taste of food: Ordinary at best. Leftovers were unremarkable. Customer service: What? Novel concept here Price: Meh We did a take-away, ordered well in advance..40 mins before we got there. When we got there, there was no one to even acknowledge our presence. Had to wait for 15-20 mins when someone strolled by...oh by the food was sitting on the table staring at me while I waited. So on a cold winter day, you can imagine the state of the food when we got home. In the middle of the pandemic, NOBODY was wearing a mask... never mind the patrons but the servers too. This is about safety. Recognizing that these weeks, a lot of people are out sick and I am willing to let this slide, but still, with customer service, a simple apology or acknowledgment of their poor performance may have gone a long way. So this is not a place we will visit again, recommend, and will not be surprised if they don't hit their 1 year anniversary. read more

Great service, very friendly staff. We've always had great food, the hummus best ever.

We've been here twice now and it's decent. Our service the first time, for dinner, was very attentive and the food was good. We thought everything we ordered was okay- not amazing, but good. It's a decent option in the area. Lunch was a little different, and my husband and I thought it was comical since we were the only people in the restaurant. First off, the restaurant smelled overwhelmingly of Pine Sol like cleaner. It messed with my appetite. I wound up ordering a pizza while my husband ordered the mixed grill platter. The service was SO slow. I don't understand why, because it was just dead in there. The mixed grill platter wound up coming out over 5 minutes before my pizza arrived and we waited quite a long time for that. I kind of feel like they forgot to make the pizza. Or maybe they burned it the first time? It wasn't fun just sitting and watching my husband enjoy his meal- he offered to let me pick at his plate which was nice, but having to wait so long for a Gyro pizza is a little ridiculous. The food was okay- just okay. I'm sure we'll return if we are in the mood for Mediterranean food, but I definitely don't crave Byblos... I wish I did. If we do return, I doubt we'll go to lunch. I'll have to give the pine sol smell time to dissipate. read more

This is one of our go to places. Food is always good and service is always friendly. It's also very cozy.

Norah's lives! Same delicious recipes, same friendly service! If management is reading, I apologize for my kids. We came in at 5:30 on a Tuesday and there was only one other table seated. We were immediately served delicious labneh, with yummy olives and fried pita. We orders the appetizer sampler with tabbouleh, hummus, falafel. It was all great, especially the hot delicious pita! I had the ferouj mishwi, the seasoned and grilled half chicken. It was magical! The flavors are amazing- almost hard to describe. We also had the lamb legs and while the flavors were great, the lamb itself was a little fatty and didn't have as much meat. The kids ordered the pizza and chicken dish and honestly, it was an adult portion for $8. Super delicious! read more

This is my favorite "ethnic" restaurant in town. Service is always prompt, the food is always fabulous, the flavors are authentic (not watered down for American taste buds) and the staff will bend over backward to make sure you enjoy your meal. The mixed grill is a particular favorite and it's really enough food to split, particularly at lunch. This restaurant accepts reservations and are very accommodating of large groups. We managed to snag last minute reservations for 10 on a Friday night for a group of little girls and their Dads headed to a Father/Daughter Dance and everyone found something to eat that they could enjoy (no small feat with a bunch of little girls ranging in age from 7-10) some even said the meal was the highlight of the evening! I'm amazed that more people don't know about this local gem. I put it down to its inconspicuous location at the back of a shopping plaza opposite the Haymarket Post Office. Give Byblos a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

Absolutely recommend this place!! The food was Exquisite. They are so welcoming since the moment you walk in.

Incredible food! So delicious and fresh tasting. We ordered the mixed grill platter and the mixed appetizer platter. It was a great way to taste a lot of the menu. Favorites were the tabbouleh, fresh pita, and the lamb sausage. Yum! read more

You must try the pita bread and hoummos. The bread was always served warm. The lamb, beef, and chicken are excellent. The Loubieh with rice is very good. All the food I had was very tasty and warm. I ordered coffee at the end of my meal and it took several minutes for it to arrive and it was not hot but it was very good. Wait staff was very attentive and the restaurant is very clean. I highly recommend this restaurant for their Lebanonese cuisine. read more

Some of the best Lebanese food I've ever had. Nice atmosphere and plenty of convenient parking. The food was beyond delicious. We ordered the Kafta platter and chicken #39 (not sure what it was called). We keto and there were plenty the of Keri friendly options. We substituted the rice for salad. Everything is so good here, we love the kafta and the lamb kabobs. Omg and the garlic mashed potatoes are soooo good. Service is excellent. Definitely would recommend read more

I went there because it is one of the few Halal restaurants in the area (in which they don't have a sign for it). Ordered to go Mixed Grill Plate, the meat and chicken kabob are old and dried, the shish kabob is made on the stove and fill with grease. The Rice is too oily and not fresh, the tahini is so thin, Tabouli is dry and only a little dressing of oil, and lastly they put extra pita bread. The portion is not that big compared to the price I paid. Have a great sitting area and lovely decor, spacious parking space, no one at the restaurant at noon on Wednesday. Stars reasoning: 2 for friendly salutation and nice decor "I went for the food." - Will I go there? Nope, there are better places. - Do you recommend it? I did not have enough exposure. "not taking any more risks." Regards. read more

Exceptional and authentic Lebanese food in a hidden location in Gainesville. Great service no matter whether they are busy or not. Great selection of wine too. The lamb shank is extremely tender. The Hummus and Baba Ghanouj are very tasty. The mixed grill is average. The fries and garlic dip are perfect. Freshly baked bread. The Sambousek are perhaps the best we've had (deep fried small pies filled with beef, pine nuts and spices). read more

One of those places that gives you the "is this the right place?" thought, but once the food hits the table you know it's right. Overall delicious. read more

I like the people who work here...let me start with that. Good service with a restaurant that is very clean and has a very nice ambience. The food is at best (for me)...just ok. Not really the flavors of Lebanese food that I'm used to. The hummus was way too smooth, the Moussakaah was too tomato-ee. And my personal fav Bamie BelZeit was bland. These are all my opinions and maybe people like that. I like more bold tasting foods. And this unfortunately was not it. Probably would not go back as it is way out of the way for me. read more

Delicious, fresh, and healthy. Huge portion sizes. Friendly staff. Would definitely go back

Came here for lunch, and tried quite a few of the appetizers. I highly recommend the hummus, falafel, and labneh. The hummus and labneh appetizer comes with pita bread, which was very good. Also tried the spinach pies, which had a lot of dough, and the filling was too sweet for my taste. Tried the Halloumi cheese appetizer, which was interesting. Quite salty, and the cheese squeaks in your teeth when eating it...probably would not get that appetizer again. Also had the Schwarma pita roll, which is flavored differently then other schwarma I have tried. Once again was rather sweet, probably due to the sumac (which is what flavors the spinach pies), and it comes with pickles inside the pita roll, which I was not a fan of, but once the pickles were removed, it wasn't bad. All together though, there are some very good appetizers to try here. read more

OMG!!!! Where shall we start?! This place is simply amazing!!. We stumbled upon this place after I Rainey day of wine tasting. Turns out this is one of the best food decisions tthat I have ever made in my life! The ambience was quaint and inviting. This is a place I would recommend for a unique date nite or a family outing. Though, limited on booths, everything still has a very intimate feeling. ( Imagine an exclusive environment without the exclusive price tag). We were greeted immediately and given a choice of a booth or table rather than the normal rigidity of a commercial restaurant seating chart. Customer service: One word: phenomenal! Our server (Jack) was attentive and knowledgeable. Even with a trainee(Emily) out service never missed a beat. As we all know, customer services Is 85% of the experience. A glass was never left empty and the recommendations were simply truthful and thought through. The food: Out of the four (4) dishes that we enjoyed , how do you say, "EPIC" in Arabic? We enjoyed the; 1) Nora Mezza Platter 2) Chicken Kebab 3) shrimp Kebab 4) baklava variety. The food was simply amazing! It was traditional and flavorful. Out of the four dishes we enjoyed I would give it a 10 out of 10. Yes! A 10 out of 10! Price point: I would classify it as Mid range. However, it's 110% worth it. (Please note: we also had a bottle of wine on our $80.00 bill at $30.00) Bathrooms: were clean and usable. Improvements: if this restaurant continues to expand, I would eventually be concerned about seating. However, I guess that would just make it more exclusive. I would also recommend a small expansion of the wine menu. Overall: What are you waiting on?!! Stop reading and go!! Awesome customer service and amazing food! I will be returning. Enjoy! read more

Tasty food, nice restaurant, great customer service! Shawarma plate and sandwich are wonderful

The garlic sauce that comes with the chicken kabob is to die for! And everything else I have tried was excellent as well: tabouleh, hummus, and the bread - omg the bread! Soft and pillow-y - yet still great when packaged for a Take-Out order. Very authentic flavors as others have mentioned. I didn't know I could get this type of authentic middle eastern flavors so far away from D.C. and I'm so happy that I don't have to drive to fairfax county (at the minimum) to get it! Location is kind of hidden and the entire town is kind of a giant speed trap, so take it easy! I will be putting this place in my weekly rotations to eat at for sure! read more

Great Lebanese food. We love the tabouli salad, the hummus, the chicken shawarma, the lamband the lebna is amazing. Awesome food, awesome service! I recently moved to Haymarket and bookmarked Byblos as somewhere to try, seeing as it's got such great reviews. I went there today during the lunch hour and from the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm welcomes. I just wanted to carry-out, so I took some time to look over the menu. I knew I wanted to try the kibbeh and hoummos, but I was stuck on what else to order. At the suggestion of the waiter, I also ordered the cheese pies. My food was brought out quickly and to my surprise, they also gave me a coke on the house! You can't beat that service! When I got home, everything was packaged perfectly, still warm, and oh so delicious!! The pita bread was light and fluffy, the kibbeh and cheese pies well-seasoned and were great portion sizes. This is my new go-to restaurant. What a nice find in Gainesville! AND, they deliver!!! Go there, NOW! What are you doing?! GO!!! read more

Great food, absolutely fantastic! Mixed grill was moist, beef was nice medium rare. All the wine is very good. The first batch of bread was cold and dry, but 2nd was warm and soft. Prices match the quality and quantity. We drove an hour to do some local shopping, we will be making the drive again for the food. Fatoosh salad, mixed grill, wine, grape leaves, for 2 people. $70. Much better than anything we've had in DC. read more

Byblos Restaurant - Super pizza! - Lebanese Near Me - Gainesville, Virginia

My husband, son and I needed dinner this past Saturday evening. We looked online for Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food "near me" as we are quite fond of both. Byblos popped up and we are so happy it did! We ordered takeout by phone and whoever answered was extremely pleasant - you could tell that he was happy to have our business and was very patient and helpful with my pronunciation of various dishes. The food was ready 20 minutes later. Everything was packed appropriately, arrived in beautiful condition and most importantly, was absolutely delicious! The lebneh was outstanding (although a little different...softer than what my friend makes) and came with the most delicious mini pita that I have ever had! Both fresh pita and chips were provided. The stuffed zucchini and lamb kebab plates were equally delicious. The zucchini was "stewy" with a savory tomato sauce which we gratefully soaked up with pita. The lamb was tender and seasoned with warm Middle Eastern spices. We ordered the traditional rice with vermicelli, a perfect accompaniment. I haven't had a meal this deliciously prepared in a very long time! Byblos will definitely become one of our favorites and we can't wait to dine there in person! read more

This place has amazing Lebanese food! It was our first time and we ordered the Fattoush salad, lentil soup, falafel side, the hummus platter with chicken and beef, and the dessert kanafa.
