"Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back."…read more Shepard Fairey's art has always intrigued me. His mixed media pieces are my favorite. In it's entirety, it is admirable work but taking a much closer look is where I find the beauty.. He has this layering technique that he does with ripped pieces of paper that becomes the canvas for his stencil, which are also layered on. Whether it is methodical or sporadic, I dig the outcome. So, when I was given the chance to tour Studio Number One, it would have been foolish to decline. The studio is actually pretty large. At ground level, the halls are a little narrower and majority of the rooms facilitate homes for obey stickers or posters. The ground level is also connected to Subliminal Projects Gallery. The second floor is much more spacious. Upstairs is where the offices are. It is where Shepard Fairey and his team do work! The entire upper level is bright and the windows are almost the size of the walls so it lets in a lot of light. The halls exhibit obey are, both solo and collaborations. I actually was able to see Shepard's first stencil he ever created! Everyone was super nice and it was a little surreal seeing Obey prints everywhere! There were idea boards with what was launching the next season of Obey clothing and I saw the actual material Shepard uses to glaze over his collage pieces. I enjoyed the tour very much. I don't know if the studio is open to the public. I was fortunate enough to have a friend that works with Mr. Fairey. If you get the opportunity to take a tour, take it! The studio is like a gallery within itself!

Subliminal Project was originally created by Sheppard and Blaize as an artist collective over two decades ago and played an integral part of introducing the skateboarding culture and design to the art world showcasing a variety of artists. This particular exhibit was entitled "Girl Gaze" and it reflected the various perspectives and struggles of women or "girls". It's objective is to push back against the cultural projections and traditional gender roles imposed on girls from the outside world, media, and culture. It aimed to represent the intelligence, creativity, complexity, and diversity of girls' experience across the nation. For me, this exhibit exuded just that. I was able to see women "girls" in a different illumination of which I have now gained insight in to why they are considered God's best creation. This place was amazing and it's the very reason why art and life goes hand in hand. Art defines life and life is art.

Event: Tiki Fest, August 14th- 2010 Charity Event…read more GREAT CAUSE - VERY UNPROFESSIONAL - This company was very unprofessional. In short. 1. Listed wrong address and time for event. I had to tell them. 2. Changed menu after tickets sold, less of a selection 3. We saw a ticket deal for $120 for "couples". I emailed them to see how long the deal would last and I was told they only had a few ticket left at that price. So I rushed and bought them. A few days later they listed them for $100 for couples. 4. Cancelled the event, yet failed to notify us. We drove to the event, dressed and ready to party, only to did out it was cancelled. When we called to complain we were told it had been rescheduled, but no one told us. We even got email reminders to go to the event on the event day. We were told they had issued a credit to our credit cards weeks before, but that was it. I think more people would have loved to help this charity if the event was well managed. We really looked forward to this event for loads od reasons. (1 star) 2/13/12 I was contacted through yelp.com by Alan at Barcelona. He informed me that they was a mix up that was out of his control for this event. Apparently, they outsourced the ticket process and that 3rd party company failed to make sure that all of the customers were notified. Alan offered me tickets to his next event to allow me to attend an event that will not have these problems. The event is scheduled for 2/26/12. I will attend the event and change my rating accordingly. I have raised my star rating from a 1 star to a 2 star because of my conversation with Alan. To be continued.... 2/26/12 Alan provided us with two free tickets to the Beverly Hills Wine Festival for the problem we had the last time we attempted to attend an event. This event was very nice and well managed. My husband and I had an excellent time. It was truly a great value for the price the tickets were being offered for. We will surely attend another event offered my this company and chalk up the first experience as a one time problem. The event had a wonderful selection of wine and friendly staff. Very classy! 4 stars it is... Thanks again Alan.

Reason 2 was that they were going to cater an event for a company I used to work for (long story short, I set up a tasting, my boss takes my coworker to it). While we didn't get any food this time we did enjoy their drinks. The sangria my friends had was not the best I've ever had but it was miles better then the usual stuff bars put out. I had the mojito. It was the closest I have come to perfection in a long time! Yumm! Not too sweet, the right amount of lime, perfect balance. Mmmmmmm. I also liked that it wasn't overly crowded. There was plenty of space to lounge, the service was attentive, and we enjoyed ourselves. I'll have to come back to try the food sometime.

Netflix is amazing. The lobby is very impressive and it gets better after walking through the theater. They have a Netflix wall that displays all the awards Netflix has received. There also some props that were used in making movies. There are many security guards in the lobby but they're all friendly. Not sure how many people the theater can accommodate but I would guess about a hundred. The seats are comfortable., the screen is big, sound is perfect and temperature is great.
