We visited this secretive restaurant, which is a hidden gem located on the beach. We had a large group of people with us. The atmosphere was casual, and since we arrived at night, we couldn't fully appreciate the beach surroundings. The customer service was exceptional. The food and drinks were also good. My neighbor (lived in SJD) for 25+ years took us to lunch earlier in the week and then we liked it so much we came back for a birthday dinner later in the week. Both meals were excellent and service was some of the best we've had. Drinks (regular, mango and cucumber margaritas) were outstanding. We tried a variety of things (poblano and onion rings, chips and salsa, fajitas, molcajete, coconut shrimp and quesadillas) so got a good sampling of the menu and everything was excellent (although the molcajete was a bit hot spicy for our taste but the chips and salsa were better than any place we've been). As a plus, the atmosphere and ambiance were equally perfect for this type of place. Reasonable prices (although cash only). Worth the drive for sure! Great spot out near East Cape Beach! read more

I visited Buzzard's yesterday and loved this place! It is nestled in a bed and breakfast right in the desert of Cabo. I went for lunch with 3 others and we all enjoyed our experience! We started with the poblano and onion ring combo. They were served with a chipotle ranch dressing. They were delicious and lightly fried! For lunch, I opted for the southwest chicken salad. My mom and sister split the shrimp quesadilla. Our friend ordered the coconut shrimp. I was a bit disappointed by my salad, as it didn't have many toppings. It was a few beans and corn. I did love the chicken and cheese, as well as the dressing. However, I knew salad probably wasn't the best choice in the beginning! My mom and sister loved their shrimp quesadilla. They said it was very flavorful. Our friend let me taste the coconut shrimp and it was fabulous. Great coconut flavor and not too fried. Overall, Buzzard's was a really great place! Buzzards is one of those places that you have to have been there to know where it is... sort of. It used to be on the one road out to East Cape. A dirt road that passed right by Buzzards. Now they have paved a very long stretch of road back out further away from the ocean that tends to bypass some of these places. Both a good thing and bad. On one hand, it's quite nice to drive on a paved road, not shaking your brains apart and on another dirt beach passage routes are kinda what the old surfer days are all about. At least there's a turn off that will take you down to where Buzzards is. that is a great thing cause it''s a really cool place to sit relax, have a drink and something to eat. When you pull up it already looks like a place you want to hang around. The ocean is right there - you can hear the waves pounding the sand. You walk over a sand pathway to a big palm leaf palapa with tables and a bar right there in sight. Ahhhhhhhh, You have made it and you can't help but exhale in a sigh of relief. You can feel any anxiety or tension leave your body. This place is practically a spa. It's not but it feels that way. It's a bar open to the air and there are birds chirping, lizards hanging out... it's like a wildlife reserve. I guess it's like a lot of things that make you feel really good. Food, drinks, relaxation, wildlife, sand under your toes, relaxation, sun, friendliness. You getting the point yet? It's so nice to visit and every year we do just that. Geeze. I thought I was done with my vacation but I guess I miss it. Places like Buzzards that make it so wonderful for us. Ugh. The food was tasty. BUT The evening was spoiled by the attitude of the new owner. There had been a problem with seating when the party was booked. The host of our party had a discussion with the owner and relayed the information to us at the table. The owner became incensed and started screaming. Our host asked the owner to tone it down and to back away from our table. Things escalated and became physical. Both parties had to be restrained. Turns out that this is a recurring occurrence. read more

I've been coming to Buzzards for years. And when they changed the route to East Cape I was afraid they would go out of business. But I guess they have enough people who love this place to keep it going. They have eclectic food on occasion. Last time I was here they served watermelon gazpacho. Sounds weird but it was delicious. And perfect for a hot Cabo day. I always have a pina colada when I come here. It's just tradition for me. They used to have resident dogs that would come and hang out but haven't seen them recently. Also they have a bird sanctuary. It looks to be a bed and breakfast as well that probably serves the surfers that come out this way. Always warm and attentive service. Been here a million times in past 15 years and sure I have Yelped it before but here goes again. A bit out of the way on desolate desert road. It used to be so bad and no pavement but new pavement is underway and conditions are improving. Come here for an adventure drive and to get away. Margaritas are almost too much, large and very loaded. Folks staffing the place are the best. Bring your dog and no problema. A few apps and a few drinks and it's time to head back or stay and get a room, seriously, relax. Simple, straight forward with a few surprises, like very good food. It's a bar restaurant on the beach after trekking through the desert, quite welcoming. Hopefully not too many come though because the isolation atmosphere is a big attraction for me. read more

We happened to stumble upon this because my wife was picking me up after a round of golf at Puerto Los Cabos nearby and the whole family needed lunch. While on the road we looked this up and it had tons of great reviews on Google. Cash only. Good thing we had enough cash on us. My wife and daughter had the fish tacos. Delicious. We decided to stop for a cerveza at Buzzard's after a long walk on the beach. They were so welcoming and friendly. The vibe is very chill and fun. We decided to go back for dinner and we are so glad we did! Our drinks and food were amazing! My husband loved the Cadillac margarita. Authentic Mexican dishes, with the best flavors. Literally everything we saw come out of the kitchen looked amazing. The only dessert on the menu is Mexican flan and it is out of this world! We are so happy we found this place. This is one of our favorite places to eat in San Jose Cabo. We have been going there for fourteen years now. The Poblano rings and onion rings are great appetizers. The coconut shrimp with dipping sauce is the bomb. The Kobe burger is also great. Paul the owner recommended the flan to finish things off. It was the best I have ever had. We stayed here again for a week and what a great experience. Peaceful and remote with easy access to all but a private beach with no tourists in site. The food is unbelievably good and after going out a couple times to San Jose and Cabo we realized there was really no reason to eat anywhere else. Very hospitable and attentive staff, highly recommend the big room, but we have stayed in the bungalows too and they are a little more private away from the restaurant. Best B&B we know of, to bad it's not closer to our house we would be here a lot more ! read more

This place is everything you could want on vacation. It's tucked away on the beach, a good drive from the main tourist area but we were staying at house nearby and it was as an easy walk. We walked here from puerto los Cabos, it took us about 20 mins at a slow place. When we arrived we were greeted by the host doggy canelo and saw the cute and quaint little restaurant. We decided to go with the burgers that you can make yourself and we were not disappointed (although not being huge burger fans)! The breaded chicken and breaded fish burgers were delicious and so were the fries and onion rings. My s/o came here 15 years ago and he said that the food was just as good as he remembered. In a sea of ceviche and chips serving restaurants, this place is totally worth the drive. Easy to find, right on the beach and out of the way. Paul (the owner), delivered what you're looking for in a dining experience in San Jose Del Cabo. Our party of six generously grazed through the appetizers -tuna sashimi served carpaccio style cold and fresh was my favorite. The dining 'room' is in the sand under a huge palapa. I had the seared tuna -coated with sesame seeds and cracked pepper with fresh vegetables (carrots, broccoli, brussel sprouts, corn) which was a good as I've ever had. The mojocate was AMAZING!
