Also the street tacos were not bad either. The service was fast enough and the young man taking our order was very nice. I have eaten at other places in the area and was not very happy and didn't have high hopes here but I was completely shocked! We will eat here again the next time we come through! We didn't try the hot dogs but will next time. Also I want to try the smash burgers!

I finally found a winner of a meal…read more I stopped in at 3pm on a Monday. Mr. Jackson waited on me again and recognized me. We chatted a bit after he served me a full portion of curry chicken with fried rice. It was well spiced. The fried rice has no pork in it, which is how I prefer it. Other customers came in, but when he had time he told me about his two years in the US Army as a draftee from San Diego n the mid 1960s. He stayed here to open his business and has been cooking food ever since. "If I had retired from the army, I'd be over 100 years old now!" he said. He only shuts down when he travels for a week. He is a true gentleman and I'm glad we got to meet.

Great local diner! We went with a large group (10+ people) without warning for breakfast and they…read morehandled it wonderfully. They didn't mind us moving tables or having a slow trickle of people over an extended period of time. Coffee, waters, and drinks were brought out promptly and coffee carafes provided. The wait staff also handled everyone's orders and split bills well which I know can get overwhelming. We had a 1 year old with us and they accommodated him better than anywhere else we've been; they had silicone plates, small silverware, and provided fresh fruit for him that wasn't even on the menu

Let's start with the good, ambiance was decent, comfortable and simple. Restaurant and kitchen was…read moreclean, very clean actually. Waitress was very friendly, did her job well and that was appreciated. That's where the good ends. The food was not good, maybe that's an understatement. My burger was dry, it could compete with the desert we live in for moisture and was overcooked and tough. The bun looked good but was hard in texture and my ability to chew. I don't have dental problems but my jaw needs a vacation I might just blend my dinner. I had to dump a pile of ketchup on my plate to act as a swallowing aid. The burger was also either not seasoned or under seasoned. Overall I would say the meal was forgettable if it wasn't for the Olympic task I undertook just to chew it. The only thing worse than the food were the prices and I'm not usually one to complain or penny pinch for good food. If you're looking for a burger you'd be better served buying that microwave junk from circle k.

I am all about supporting local businesses. We tried this food truck today and ordered the coleslaw…read moredog, chili dog, and cherry shaved ice. The coleslaw had the right spices and texture - it was amazing. The chili was overpowered with beans, but it tasted great. However, I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the hot dogs - to me it looks like you can buy them at Fry's for $1.99 a pack. The shaved ice saved the day! Hence the 4 stars. My daughter said the flavor tasted like Hawaiian punch. Would I try anything else on their menu next time? SHO NUFF!

On a beautifully cloudy, monsoon wknd with Tucson attractions largely hibernating from the July…read moreheat/humidity we opted to explore Sonoita's wine country. Wine tasting shouldn't be done on an empty stomach so the first planned stop was The Cafe... I guess as in THE Cafe, Lol. And it lives up to its namesake. We ordered everything listed on the Special-of-the-Day menu which included a grass-fed burger with brie and bacon and a blue-cheese and tomato bisque soup. We got an extra side of sweet potato fries. All portions were decently sized (see pic of burger/soup) and more than filled us up with the requisite protein and complex carbs to sustain us for an afternoon of wine tasting. Service was excellent and attentive. TIP: if you're splitting an entree they will charge $2 to cut it in half and merely bring an extra plate or they'll charge a whopping $5 extra to formally divide the meal and place them on two separate plates before bringing them out to the table. We opted to have neither done and simply shared all of our entrees and sides from the plates they came on (and were charged $0 :) Parking is ample but it's a dirt/gravel lot which can get muddy during monsoons. And they close AT 2pm!

Arriving at 1:15 there was a couple at the bar and we were the only ones at a table. The very friendly young lady server brought water and menus... but the menu was only one page and had a choice of one salad, three sandwiches and a burger. There was a special of the day ... a meatloaf sandwich that I ordered and it was quite good. I asked what happened to the huge menu we saw on line ... turns out they are now only open Saturdays from 11:30 until 2:30 and Friday evenings from 5 until 7 and that is by reservation. The dinner menu has a few more items listed and I will post the current menu. Very friendly, great service ... excellent food ... but very limited hours. Posting this as most of the reviews are quite old and this will be current information.

We were seated quickly and both ordered iced teas. Our waitress was attentive and brought our drinks quickly. We settled on sharing the french dip sandwich, split, with onion rings. The beef had a good flavor and the swiss cheese was nicely melted. We each got 3 onion rings which seemed a bit lacking as they weren't that big. The au-jus was the biggest issue we had. There was zero flavor not even the normal saltiness, it might as well have been colored water. If we're ever in town again we would probably find a different place for lunch.
