Seafood boil pot. Everything came with except the sourdough bread and butter.

This is the first review I have ever written, but this place really deserves it. The food and service are both amazing. We are visiting from California so our knowledge of local seafood is limited. The knowledge of the employees was greatly appreciated. We went first for scallops and fresh fish for a fish sandwich. They suggested Grouper for the sandwich. Amazing! We went back for some shrimp and ended up with the seafood boil steamer pot. We added andouille sausage and it came with everything needed. The cost was very reasonable. OMG the quality of the food was wonderful and it was the perfect meal.

We have been coming to Buxton seafood and buying from Mr. Nick for years for our OuterBanks vacations. Even if we stay out of Frisco/Buxton we come all the way from Duck for his fresh catches. Ask what he recommends and he will always be honest and friendly! The Tuna steaks were excellent and try getting his steamed shrimp. They were cooked perfectly and tasted what good shrimp on the beach should. The shop is also a nice treat to visit he's always adding better items inside making it more than just a seafood seller. The front porch is really nicely decorated too.

Super selection of FRESH local seafood. Service is great. Very helpful if you have questions on preparation. Prices are comparable to others. Will def stop again!!

Sold us the lightest bushel of crabs I've ever had.

I did not feel safe here. There are plenty of other seafood markets in Hatteras. Avoid at all costs.

Cockeyed Clam - This banana pudding was different than most we've had - thick, creamy, and ours was full of vanilla wafer and banana cream. Delicious!

The Cockeyed Clam was a mixed bag of good and bad menu items…read more The fried clam strips were chewy as well as having the batter being burnt. Had the platter with fish of the day, shrimp, crab cakes, mashed potatoes, and broccolini. The fish with the Parmesan encrusted top was delicious, adding a strong flavor that complemented the fish. However, the underside of the fish didn't have any of that flavor and was under salted as well as being a tad overcooked. The broccolini was cooked well enough but ended up being flavorless due to no seasoning or salt added. The shrimp were okay, not super well seasoned but not super lacking. The crab cake was fairly loosely packed, little char on top. Not super flavorful. Mashed potatoes were good, well seasoned and creamy. The fried seafood items had a nice light batter and wasn't too oily. The hush puppies were a highlight of the meal. They were dense with a hard exterior but not too dry on the inside. The cornbread flavor held strong in the hush puppy and wasn't too greasy. The French fries were abysmal. No salt, no crispness, and terrible texture. Pickled beets added a nice sweetness to the meal. The main highlights were the desserts. The chocolate pecan pie a la mode was delicious as well as the key lime pie. Our server was great and sweet. While most of the food is not terrible, it's not going to impress much either.

This is their description of the appetizer from their menu *Coastal Gratin Stuffed Oysters Our version of a classic... Six shucked oysters stuffe with fire-roasted poblano peppers, mozzarella & gouda mix, chopped bacon & butter beurre blanc When the appetizer arrived, there were 13 oysters cooked the way it says above I can't eat 13 oysters. I'm only one person so I stopped the person who was waiting on me and asked if There was a mistake because there were three times the amount of oysters on the plate he said no that's how it comes. I said OK thank you you. Then I waited 35 minutes for a shrimp Poboy there were two other people in the restaurant besides me eating that's it a shrimp Poboy if you're completely incompetent and have never cooked a day in your life might take you 12 to 15 minutes to cook if you're an established restaurant with only two other customers I can't imagine it taking longer than 10 minutes. Frying shrimp takes 4 to 7 minutes, depending on the size and the. Then I got the shrimp Poboy with four shrimp on an 8 inch bun. I cut into one of the shrimp one of the four and it wasn't cooked so when the guy came back by, I told him that I was just gonna take my oysters to go and that I couldn't eat the shrimp Poboy and I also said I think it's laughable that there were four shrimp on this entire sandwich And so then he asked me how many shrimp I wanted and I said I'm I'm not engaging in this kind of toxic conversation. So he brought me a box and the check and I went up to pay the check for my oyster appetizer and I set them to go box down on the Counter in front of me I still can't believe this happened, but when he handed me the check right after he did that, he picked up my to go box full of oysters because I only ate four and threw them away and said that since I didn't like his shrimp, Poboy, I couldn't have his food. This happened to me on Christmas day, all by myself. I am not exaggerating when I say I've only felt like I've been in the presence of true evil a few times in my life and this man the way that he was violent and aggressive in his speech and his mannerisms and taking my food for me and throwing it in the trash two seconds after handing me the check for it is the most wild behavior I've ever witnessed in all of my life if you have a choice to eat anywhere else, I urge you to do that
