After being behind basically everyone else the Dutch have finally woken up to the specialty coffee trend. That has of course mainly hit Amsterdam and Rotterdam but even in a small town like Tilburg now have a few places taking a go at it.
They have a nice space with a lot of seating so easy to find a spot. Free wifi available so a lot of people sitting with computers but only a few of the tables have any power available so choose wisely if you want to be able to charge phone or computer.
They offer a variety of cafe style dishes (salads and sandwiches) as well as pastries. That was however not my reason for visiting as I was there for coffee. I sampled a good espresso and a very good flat white. Both made with beans from Antwerp's Caffenation and I also tried the hand-brewed V60. Made from nice Kenyan beans also from Caffenation but the execution was lacking so over-extracted. Still would try to order again and ask them to use Aeropress instead.
This place is great to be in Tilburg, in a bigger city it may not stand out as such but here it really is the best place to come for coffee. read more
