Step into the warm and welcoming atmosphere of Lost Art Gallery, and you are instantly transported…read moreto a truly magical place of wonder and intrigue.  Walls come alive with unique stories written in brushstrokes and colors, painting ideas and concepts both Classical, Abstract and Contemporary.  Art collectors, both new and seasoned, will find paintings and sculptures that speak to their hearts and sensibilities.  One may feel quite confident in their purchases here receiving the fairest prices and highly qualified appraisals of their own art pieces. Renowned owners Victoria Golden and son Alexander Golden have vast years of experience together in both investments in art collections and appraisals. Very well qualified art consultants are also available to guide art buyers through educated and thoughtful purchases. Truly, Lost Art Gallery is a must-see on your visit to the historic city of St. Augustine!

The man working the shop when we wandered in explained that it's called the "lost art" gallery…read morebecause they take in art on consignment from people looking to clear out their attics or such and display it for sale there. This place was amazing! They had tons we had never heard of before (but the guy there was more than happy to tell us all about them, from old english ship painters to modern american works) and some rare pieces from artists anyone would recognize, like salador dali. The little shop is definitely set up as a small gallery, with a very interesting, ecclectic selection on display. Visiting and talking to the guy there about the art was one of the highlights of my visit to st augustine!

Update: just got an invite to meet n greet in December from new owner Olivia who actually was who…read moreripped me off along wth Steve Barton and James Coleman. She even tried to buy them back for Pennie's on the dollar when I tried to sell them on Facebook marketplace. DO NOT go t the meet and greet to buy something they will scam you and over charge you. The meet and greet is where Olivia wrapped me off the most. $40,000+. First 2 times I was blown away with all the art and presentations. It seemed Awsome But if you end up trying to sell one of the pieces you overpaid for, you quickly realiz you were ripped off. Very ritzy art gallery with extremely over priced art pieces. Olivia does a good job making you think paintings are worth the price and a good investment. Fact is I've lost a crap load of money and their studio WILL NOT buy anything from previous customers. Paintings are worthless. That's because they know they've ripped the person off and want to be done with it. No where online can u sell James Coleman nor Steve Barton Paintings for anywhere near the original price from James Coleman Gallery in St Augustine. The annual Christmas meet and greet is a money grab for gallery owner and artists. They got me drunk then sold me a James Coleman painting for $10,000 and 2 Steve Barton Paintings for $10k. I only went to get a painting signed by Steve Barton, which he previously forgot to sign. I've purchased over $35k of art from Olivia and it's all a gut wrenching loss!!!! Most of the reviews here are from people who didn't buy anything so don't know about getting ripped off Just because people are being nice to you and catering to you while they try and rip you off doesn't make it okay... screenshot is from artbrokerage.com (where the artists and gallery told me to sell them because they don't buy any art back)

To begin, I absolutely love Aviles Street. Not just because of the great restaurants and…read morebusinesses that are there but because it feels special. It's the original Art District of St. Augustine. I can easily see why artist's and art lovers chose this location. The light that filters onto this street during the day is always bright but soft... less harsh. In the evening the perfect hight of the old buildings and the light posts cast the most beautiful shadows for a picturesque and charming scene. This leads me to my 5 star review of The BART. This gallery showcases well-known and new artists from Florida in a small contemporary gallery and wine bar. The enjoyment of sipping a crisp Pinot Grigio while feasting my eyes on beautiful art is uplifting and a great way to spend a beautiful afternoon. The wine bar is intimate and offers flights for tasting and the owner is a true cool cat! Gatto Frio as he likes to say:) While there I had the pleasure of meeting one of the local artists Caitlin who has some really great pieces displayed. She was lovely and fun to chat with about the art. This is a great hidden gem A must for a lazy afternoon that will fill your soul. This is a must for any art lover

The art he's selected for the gallery is unique for the area and all has his vivid, bright, cheery demeanor. All of the art pieces are from local (St. John's County) artists and are fair priced. No wonder it's been so successful with an owner with the passion Phil possesses. I am so excited to come back!
