If I could give this place more stars, I definitely would! We came here to celebrate 3 birthdays, including mine, with 6 of us total, and we had an amazing time. From the moment we walked in, the hostess was welcoming, and the restaurant has such a cool, upbeat vibe. Our server, Zahra, made the whole experience even better. She answered all our questions, gave solid recommendations on the menu, and is just a genuinely friendly person. To start, my BF and I split the Bacon Wedge, which was plenty for two people, and the Triple Thick Bacon was amazing! We were all curious about the Peanut Butter Bacon, so we ordered it to try. It was interesting, and I liked it, but more in a novelty sort of way. I had the Zabuton, which is a Wagyu steak, and it was perfect! It came out at the temperature I ordered and was full of flavor. A couple of friends ordered different steaks, including the Filet, Ribeye, and NY Strip, and they all enjoyed theirs, too. The other two had the Branzino, which was also very good. We ordered several sides for the table since they all sounded so good. We went with the Rockefeller Spinach, Brussels Sprouts, Succotash, and Dirty Rice. I liked them all, but the spinach was my favorite. We also had two bottles of wine, and they have a nice selection. For dessert, we ordered the Lemon Bar, Chocolate Panacotta Cake, and Banana Cream Pie. They put a candle in each dessert, which was such a nice touch! They also gave each of the birthday girls a wrapped Chocolate Chip Cookie, and they were yummy! Beautiful restaurant, amazing food, and great service. The whole place has such a nice aesthetic, making it a great spot for a special occasion. We all agreed that while the food was amazing, Zahra really made our birthday dining experience an absolutely amazing one. Original Review: I've been to Butcher & Thief before with a client and had a good experience, although it was later in the evening and the sun wasn't an issue. The steaks are still very well grilled, the drinks are reasonably priced, and the carrot cake was excellent. Unfortunately, this visit left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. I brought my wife this time and made a reservation through OpenTable, specifically requesting a booth. When we arrived, we were seated at a table where the sun was absolutely blasting us. It was so bad that another customer actually put on sunglasses inside the restaurant. I asked if we could move to a booth, and was told they couldn't accommodate us because the booths were reserved. But we had a reservation too. I had to ask four times before we were finally moved to a booth. And honestly, even my wife was pissed by this point - which says something because neither of us went into the dinner looking for a confrontation. Here's what really bothered me: a couple who arrived after us was seated at the booth next to us and when we left, the restaurant still had plenty of empty tables. So I'm not really sure what the reservation policy was supposed to accomplish other than frustrating paying customers. Restaurants should also think about how the sun moves through their dining room. If a table becomes practically unusable during certain hours, that should be something the staff recognizes and addresses proactively. What made it worse was that the manager never apologized or even really acknowledged the situation. A simple, "Sorry about that, let's get you somewhere more comfortable," would have gone a long way. The food itself was solid. Steaks were grilled very well, although I thought the appetizers were small for the price. The carrot cake was excellent, and the cocktails were surprisingly well priced. Overall, I'm torn. The food has potential and my previous experience was good, but with so many other restaurant options, customer service matters. If I have to repeatedly ask to be moved from an uncomfortable table despite having a reservation, and then see the restaurant still has plenty of available seating, that's frustrating. Came to Butcher & Thief for the first time on a Friday around 4 PM to check out both the Happy Hour and dinner menus. We opted to sit at the counter, which gave us a full view of the kitchen and kept us away from the more crowded bar area. Definitely a nice seating option if you enjoy watching the action behind the scenes! Happy Hour (Daily, 3-5:30 PM) We tried the Peanut Butter Bacon, Rockefeller Oysters, and Cheesesteak Eggrolls from the HH menu. I enjoyed the fun, creative takes on comfort food. They were interesting to try but nothing stood out enough that I'd necessarily reorder them. Break Bread -- Sour Cream & Onion Bubble Bread This was AMAZING! Freshly baked, piping hot, fluffy and packed with flavor. Double Cut Pork Chop -- The Star of the Show The staff even stopped by to tell us we made a good choice. This was easily my favorite dish of the night. Unlike many pork chops that can turn out dry, this one was incredibly tender and juicy, with layers of flavor throughout. The apricot addition was a great touch that elevated the dish even further. I noticed the menu has since been updated to apple, so I'd be curious to try that version on my next visit. A solid addition to the table, especially if you're in the mood for a classic burger alongside some of the restaurant's more creative dishes. The texture and flavor reminded me more of a melted Heath bar, with plenty of sweetness. The food was enjoyable but the service and staff really helped make the experience stand out. What a nice evening we had here. The back patio was nice and private and had heating. The staff was extremely friendly and comforting. Dana was a great server, she timed out our meal greatly and was very inviting. We tried many different options and some of the highlights were definitely the blackberry burrata, beef tartare, and peanut butter bacon apps. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and the bread was super fresh and flavorful. Our group started off with some cocktails; I got the Rose Colored Glasses which was sweet but not too sweet - it was delicious. I was also a fan of the I'm Samantha. For the appetizers, we got the Cheese steak Eggrolls - it was alright but it didnt have that much flavor. I wouldn't recommend it but i would recommend the Bread! It had a nice crunch and was so flavorful. I got the Ribeye steak which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The side of mashed potato was also addicting and had good flavor. My fiance got the Burger with Fries which was decent. My friends got the Zabuton steak; it was also cooked very well with lots of flavor. We visited this neighborhood steakhouse on Father's Day, located in a newer shopping center with a really unique and beautiful design inside. We were a little disappointed that the full menu wasn't available for the holiday, but we still found a few things to enjoy. We started with drinks and appetizers, which came out quickly. The tartare wasn't quite what I expected, we also had the calamari which was small and just okay but we really enjoyed the cheesesteak rolls, especially the au jus-inspired dipping sauce. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn when it came to the entrées. After our appetizers arrived, we waited a very long time for our food and eventually had to ask our server about the delay. From the interaction, it seemed like our order hadn't even been started, and we ended up waiting quite a bit longer. It's new American from the Carson Kitchen people, and very reminiscent of that 2010s era of cuisine, where Americans were starting to branch out more to new flavors in restaurants. I really enjoy fun dishes, but the ones here didn't hit their targets. We ordered the sour cream and onion rolls, Italian salad, filet mignon, and fries. The sour cream and onion rolls had great texture, but flat flavors. Filet mignon was underseasoned, didn't get a good sear, served lukewarm, and was accompanied by a weird-tasting steak sauce. The Italian salad was described as served chopped on the menu, but I received big square pieces of lettuce. And lastly, the fries were great but the fry sauce wasn't very good and tasted overly mayonnaise-y. Overall, it felt like every dish on the menu was "modified" with other ingredients to seem new, but end product was inferior to the classic version. Wonderful spot! The weather was perfect for the open air seating. We gathered here for a pre wedding dinner. We had three service dogs in our party and the restaurant was very accommodating. The service was great as our attendant Jose (I hope i have the name right) was very warm and friendly. I am gluten free, and he made sure that everything I ordered was prepared as safe as possible. A bit still too frozen at first though - the banana pie was good, with lots of peanut butter. Was shaped more like a covered tart than an open pie. Large portion. The not-so-good: - All the dishes, and the steaks in particular, were overly salted. I like salt a lot but I think it was a bit excessive. So back off on the salt a bit. Extremely consistent cook on the steaks, delicious and well seasoned every single time, and I swear the sides get better and better. The fries, mashed potatoes, and Mac are amazing. Cute neighborhood spot with friendly staff and a menu that has some really interesting and different options. Service was a little slow, and we had a bit of a hiccup during dinner that left us both a little confused, but overall it was a decent experience. He had a large table that had just gotten their dinner, so we totally understood. For apps, we got the half dozen oysters, the pastrami salmon, and the summer squash salad. The pastrami salmon was extremely salty. But, to be fair, it has a pastrami seasoning, so maybe I should have expected that flavor to come through pretty strong. The summer squash salad was an interesting idea and I really wanted to love it. Unfortunately, the Aleppo pepper was way too powerful for me. My boyfriend ended up eating most of it, and even he, someone who loves spice, said it was a little much. He was literally sweating in his cheeks . Here's where things got a little weird. We ordered everything at the same time, cocktails, wine, apps, and dinner. I ordered the A5 Wagyu tri tip rare, and my boyfriend ordered the NY strip medium rare. My steak ended up coming out medium rare, which honestly I was okay with. But my boyfriend's NY strip came out medium and had a pretty grainy texture. He mentioned it to our server, and our server offered us dessert on the house, which we appreciated. And honestly, we loved our server. This review definitely isn't about him. He was friendly and did his best, especially considering the situation. The one thing that stood out to me was that the manager was clearly aware something was going on. I noticed him peering over at our table several times, and he was standing near the line for most of the night, but he never came over to check in or acknowledge the situation. I'm not someone who needs a manager hovering over my table, but even a quick "How is everything?" or "Sorry about the wait" would have gone a long way. Overall, a nice neighborhood spot with good ideas, friendly people, and a menu that's trying to do something a little different. There are definitely some things that could use refinement, especially timing and execution, but we still enjoyed parts of the experience and, as always, we love supporting local businesses. read more

This was our first time at this restaurant. We came for steak and were very satisfied. My ribeye was amazing and his zabuton was great too. We decided the mac and cheese was the best we've ever had. I appreciate they had feminine hygiene products available in the woman's restroom. The service was mostly attentive. It did take about 5 min to be offered refreshments by our server. For being a newish spot I was surprised the chairs were so stained. We were in the area behind glass if that makes a difference. read more

We stopped in for happy hour on a Wednesday. It was a beautiful day so we asked to be seated outside at the bar. We were waited on almost immediately. Our drinks came and we picked the sliders and the cheesesteak eggrolls from the happy hour menu. It wasn't long before the sliders arrived and a couple minutes later the eggrolls. The presentation of each was well done and they were both very flavorful. Enough so I was equally delighted and surprised. This place popped up at the right time. Locals are looking for a steakhouse that offer excellent food without the strip prices ($400/500+). This place comes at you like a breath of fresh air. From the warm and friendly greeting (ALWAYS look for a warm greeting) to the clean lines, subdued colors of the restaurant and the helpful smiling staff. These guys are bringing back old fashion Hospitality. Thomas, the Restaurant manager and our Server Thankful ensured we had a great first time experience. FOOD: Zabuton - We ordered the zabuton steak cooked medium per the chef's recommendation to render the fat more as American wagyu is pretty fatty. I usually am not impressed by steaks when I eat out but this is the BEST steak I had in a long time. Really fills you up. The price is amazing as well ($46~). Sour cream onion bubble bread - it was like garlicky buttery king's Hawaiian bread. Hamachi Crudo - hamachi is a more meaty texture fish and tasted fresh here. It was refreshing and not too spicy Andouille dirty rice - a great spice and a little heavy. Feels like something from Louisiana. Great side dish. Molasses pistachio Brussels sprouts - I was hopping it was caramelised but it was more of a roasted dish. Well cooked and tasty. Dirty cocktail - my partner enjoyed it and says it was perfectly savory Love you long time mocktail - I love mocktails and this was a perfect soft sweet drink topped with a strawberry And the have us Andes mint chocolate with the bill SERVICE: We had Zahara served us and she is amazing! She asked if we had an occasion in the beginning which we did and remembered at the end of our dinner by congratulating us and giving us champagne. It was very sweet and she even had non alcoholic champagne as I don't drink much. She checked on us through out the dinner and made the dining experience elevated with her elegance. All staff also was bid us goodbye as we felt. Very great service. Ambiance: beautiful decor very modern. Elegant enough for a special occasion or weeknight dinner out. Came here for my birthday and had such a great experience. I ordered the "I'm Samantha" to drink and loved it. We started with the Break Bread, then had the ribeye, Brussels, and mac and cheese and everything was so good. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and the sides were just as good. We ended with the chocolate pannacotta cake, and since it was my birthday the chef surprised us with chocolate chip cookies which was such a sweet touch. Definitely your local neighborhood steakhouse! Fairly priced and great energy. This spot has just opened a few months and I've been here twice. The ambiance was well lit if you were sitting in the front of the restaurant and there's another back room that is a bit darker. I have experienced both spots (back room for dinner with friends and front at the bar with having dinner alone). I had their yellowtail appetizer. The sauce is AMAZING. I would go back here just for this. Our server, I forgot her name, she's short, longer hair with glasses, beautiful and super sweet, recommended to use this sauce for my steak to dip in. Literally a 100/10 recommendation. Their oysters were delicious, small and meaty. I forgot where they're from. Their bartender recommended me to try their salmon appetizer. I feel like this one was lacking a bit of more flavor. I also had their bavette steak and this cut was my favorite compared to the Wagyu cut. Not only because it was more tender, but probably because it was more meaty, if that makes sense. The sides were delicious. I'm a sucker for a good side of mushrooms and the sauce was extremely flavorful. I also tried their dessert and this was so delicious, but I could not finish it. I was unable to take a photo of my bavette steak or yellowtail appetizer from my other visit, but I would definitely recommend trying both of those dishes on the menu. The only reason why I would rate this place a 4/5 stars is because my Wagyu cut was delayed for an extremely long time. And the manager on duty did come by to apologize, but also said to me "I would take care of your glass of wine, but you got a bottle." Mind you, I wasn't upset about being there longer since it was my night to decompress and relax, but that comment threw me off. He did though, take care of my side dish, I didn't ask for. Overall, I'd come back for a nice dinner and recommend this spot for my friends to try. read more

Best tender steak in Vegas, no sauces needed! I ordered the flat iron akaushi wagyu steak and my husband ordered the zabuton winter frost wagyu. Both were cooked and seasoned impeccably, and unlike other places where you add sauces for flavor, these steaks needed nothing extra. Compliments to the chefs from tonight! Our server, Thankful, was a delight the entire night. She was very accommodating with us and our 15-month old! She was warm, friendly and attentive the entire time even though we sat outside. The restaurant was buzzing with energy and it was lovely to see the produce at the entrance. It all looked so fresh, bright, and clean. We've always walked past the restaurant and finally decided to make a reservation online and give it a shot. We'll be sure to come back again! read more
