Well maintained place with a lot of great history super interesting to see where butch Cassidy started out

I'd suggest you pass this one by, unless you have no other choice. Here's why: 1- NO air-conditioning. It was near 100 degrees and no air. Miserable to sleep. Complained and was told sorry nothing we can do. 2- Beds hard and extremely uncomfortable. I guess that shouldn't matter much cause you won't be sleeping due to the heat anyhow. 3- No carpet only linoleum floors, which wouldn't be bad except they were filthy dirty. 4- Curtains kept opening from HOT air coming out of the AC unit. Now I know some of you would add stars for this, but I don't really like the old lady next door seeing my bare butt. read more

What a great find! After driving to and visiting Bryce Canyon we could not find a good coffee.. until we stumbled upon THIS GEM! Fresh salads and wraps, delicious homemade carrot cake and cookies and really good coffee and Chai lattes. The ladies were super friendly and helpful and really made our day! This place is AMAZING!!! I called Kelly the owner and she was so nice and accommodating!!! We were supposed to stay in Antimony but no places there allow dogs...Kelly only charged me an extra 10 bucks for our dog . We have a tour company and will definitely be bringing our tours here!!! The food in the cafe is also amazing !!! And when you have been living in CA for he last 16 years and used to great coffee!?!?!!! This place does NOT DISAPPOINT EITHER!!! Sugar free latte!!!! Service was good. Food wasn't that great especially for the cost. Kids chicken nuggets were grocery store type. Actually just about everything appeared to be pre-packaged from the grocery store: the salad, dressing, kids applesauce. We both got the pulled pork sandwich. It was just ok. If you're driving through and hungry when you hit Circleville (like the two hunters on their four-wheelers we saw), the food is good enough to eat, but keep driving if you can wait. read more

Was a totally unexpected surprise. The place is small and gets filled rather quickly. The staff does a great job. They are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Just had a sandwich from their lunch and dinner offerings. It was pretty good. The breakfasts are great...specifically considering this is in a town that does not even have a stop light. Driving on our way to Capitol Reef from the 15 we stopped here for some food after vetoing the parade of fast food options available off the interstate. When we walked in we were the only ones there and the proprietors were watching the news on the fires that were going on at the time. Despite this they got the kitchen going and it was great relief to get some good hot food. We tried a mushroom swiss burger and a chicken strip basket. The chicken strips were meaty and in a generous portion and the burger was well made. The fry sauce was a great highlight. read more

Their restaurant has really good food. Homemade tasty food with generous servings. Yum! They have meatloaf, a veggie wrap, burgers plus many other choices and a great breakfast menu. The veggie stack is loaded with flavorful veggies on top of perfectly done potatoes and topped with eggs just how you like them. Homemade deserts are available or an ice cream cone. We love this place for the food and coffee. read more

Two years ago, we stopped at Butch Cassidy's on the way out of Panguitch. This year, we stopped on the way in, after a very stressful drive. We found out that we couldn't go to our lodgings, since the town was under a boil order. We needed some calm in our lives, and we found it at this restaurant. We were sad that we couldn't have the chicken fried steak, since it is only on the dinner menu. Instead, we ordered baskets. I had the fish basket and my husband ordered the shrimp basket. We also ordered small salads. The fish and shrimp were fine, but the fries were the best that we EVER had anytime or anywhere. They were tender, crispy, and meltingly creamy inside. We ate every fry from the huge portions. The salads had enough ingredients and lettuces to be interesting. They included a slice of delicious, palate cleansing watermelon. The waitress was very kind and allowed me to charge my cell phone. She was handling the customers by herself and doing an excellent job of moving things along. It is nice to see that the quality didn't change from our visit two years ago. At that time, I wrote this: It's a small place, but they know what to do with food! My husband and I had the chicken fried steak meal. It was the best chicken friend steak that we've had in years. Tender, flavorful, not filled with gristle, and perfectly cooked to a crunchy golden brown, those steaks were exactly what a chicken fried steak should be. The steaks were served with just the right amount of flavorful gravy. That gravy also graced a mound of real mashed potatoes. A small, but tasty, side salad, canned green beans, and a slice of fresh cantaloupe completed the plate. We finished with small dishes of ice cream. I had huckleberry. My husband found his ice cream to have the right amount of chocolate, that would be a lot of chocolate! He is picky about his chocolate ice cream, but their creamy offerings suited both of us. Our server was pleasant and helpful. The stop at Butch Cassidy's Hideout Cafe was a great choice for these OZ Travelers. read more

We rode our quads to this delicious restaurant. First time we went I had a mushroom swiss burger which was great. The next time I went I had the taco salad which was too big for me to finish. The service was excellent. I can't wait to go back next year. read more

This little cafe is comfortable with friendly service. I had the Turkey Avocado wrap. Served in a green wrap that was very tasty. Like a hand held salad. So yummy! Daughter had a French dip that we shared, also delicious! Great bread. My son had the fried shrimp. Crispy goodness served with fries that were seasoned and wonderful. Couldn't leave without a couple of ice cream sundaes to go! Weeeee! Dopamine high! read more

What a local treasure! It's hard to find restaurants in this area open year round. They cater to their local clientele and are a great place for tourists to visit as well. They have fun Butch Cassidy merchandise and decor. The food is fantastic, they even have great healthy vegetarian options. They have a drive through too! It's fun to go for a hand dipped ice cream treat on a hot summer day. read more

After being rained out of our campsite high above the town of Circleville, UT. we came upon this quaint little motel. We were able to get a room for the night that was both comfortable and relatively cheap in comparison to the neighboring towns hotels and motels. We had dinner at their cafe and were pleasantly pleased to see vegetarian options on the menu. The staff was both friendly and helpful. read more

We stayed in Circleville one night and ate at what I believe is the only place in town to eat which is Butch's. Luckily we arrived in time to eat as they close pretty early. I have to say, for what is a really in the middle of nowhere little town, I was quite impressed with the food here. All of us had good food but I was the most impressed with my son's chicken strips. What an awesome place Butch Cassidy's Hideout is! The rooms are super clean and very reasonable priced. The cafe is chock full of great food. We especially love the roast beef & gravy, the biscuits & gravy, the shrimp, the cookies, the....oh you get the idea. However, the part for us is how cozy and welcoming everyone is. We loving spending the warm afernoons sitting outside on the grass, under the big tree watching the clouds flirt with the mountians on all sides. So many people return year after year (like we do) and we love visiting under that tree and swapping stories of the days travels and/or, the days ride on the many ATV trails that you can join right from the Motel. We look forward all year to our trip to Butch Cassidy's Hideout. read more

I stayed there the 12th to the 14th of September, 2016. The cost was 98$ a night which I thought was very expensive for the accommodations. I could not cancel because this was a reservation and I did not give 48 hours notice. On previous trips the price was about $25 less so I assumed the price was the same but was shocked at the new rate. Their web site advertises cable and my room had over the air (OTA) TV. There haven't been phones in the room for many years, they were taken out by the previous owners and no cell phone service for Consumer Cellular. I was informed that Sprint is the area carrier. I understand they have WiFi but I could not log on to it. For 98$ you get two beds a coffee service, microwave, OTA TV and small refrigerator. The room and bathroom are clean and rooms are made up every day but not worth the price - I do have to say the restaurant has good food. Go to Panguitch for a better and cheaper room with more food choices. read more

We have stayed here a couple of times. Very clean and accessible . We have enjoyed our stay. However, the beds are very uncomfortable. And the remote control didn't work. We will gladly come back. read more
