Proper face coverings are required for staff and customers, they check temperatures and sanitize every customers hands before letting anyone into the store to shop. We didn't act right away, but kept the business card. A month or so later, we headed out to the nursery in Rutland. It was in the country & set back off the road, so at first we thought we might be in the wrong place. We found the parking lot & then bumped into Joe. We showed him pictures of our house and let him know what we wanted done. He gave us a tour of the nursery, and was at our home within a week to give us recommendations & a design plan. I know not a thing about plants, I often kill them just by looking at them. We had to put our trust in his knowledge & insight. The old trees & shrubs were pulled out using caution not to destroy our stone wall or foundation. The workers were polite, efficient, and respectful of our property. The new plantings went in at least 7 days earlier than promised. The result? Couldn't be happier. It's been about 2 months now, and I haven't killed the plants yet. Even still, I'm glad they come with a guarantee!

I am 67 years old and he had a smooth way of adding things to a job quoted at 4,600.00 and adding things on without itemizing costs, taking my checks and cashing quickly. Before I could figure out I was being taken for a ride it was to late, he got the price of the work up to 9,200.00 dollars, a total of three checks. This is how he did it! After quoting me the 4,ooo for 12 shrubs and 600.00 for pruning some trees on the first meeting I agreed and I gave him a down payment check for 2,500.00. A few days latter he arrived to do the job. He pruned much less than what he originally described he was going to prune the day of the quote. After pruning he brought out the 12 shrubs to ware I wanted them and then told me he brought 3 extra shrubs and would I like to add them to the job along with the plants he described as being amazing! I agreed and instead of a 2100.00 balance check I give him 3200.00 for the additional shrubs and plants thinking that would be it. The next day he arrived with the plants and loam but he only brought enough plants for 12 shrubs. That's when he asked for an additional check for 3500.00 after saying he would be back with the other remaining plants for the three other shrubs that he said he forgot about. After looking at what I was spending this much money for, after giving him that last check. I was going to try to stop that last check but it was to late, he already very quickly cashed the last two checks. I should have known better but was under a lot of stress at that time like everyone else with the Pandemic, and a crazy neighbor cutting down trees on her own next to my yard, the main reason why I wanted this landscaping job done. When he arrived for the last time to plant the rest of the additional plants he forgot, with no extra loam, the reason why the plants root system were exposed, I asked him for an itemized account for the job, shrubs, plants, loam, labor etc. he would keep changing the subject to justify the cost for going to the plant nursery in his truck etc., I gave up and he never did give me what I was asking for, I would only be wasting my time to continue! He had a big smile on his face as he was getting back into his truck, that I hope I can hopefully someday soon forget!
