I call the one side a dummy door because it's unusable since the back of it is the wall to a bedroom closet. We'd been dreading having this replaced because we watched our neighbor have the same type door replaced and his contractor (not MS&G) had a really hard time of it. Not the case with MS&G. However, the process of obtaining a quote was indeed as easy as Zen Windows website makes it out to be; check out their website and watch the videos. I completed their form with the number of windows, approximate size and the requirement that the windows must meet a minimum efficiency. A reply was quick and thorough and above all easily understood and answers to questions were immediate. Dennis provided all the information needed should a permit have been required. Once accepted, Kevin came out within a few days to take specific measurements needed for ordering the windows. Within just over a month, we received a call asking if the installation could take place within 48 hours as they had an opening. Ed, Jimmy and Daryl were the installation crew who arrived promptly and you could not ask for a more conscientious and professional team. They seemed to get along and worked well with each other. Care was taken to protect floors and carpet, the installation and operation of the windows was explained, and clean up was meticulous. I had planned to shampoo my carpets after they were finished and Daryl did such a good job of cleaning up the floors I did not have to vacuum first! We had 6 windows replaced and opted for the Endure EN600 series double hung, Energy Star Certified windows. These windows were installed on a warm day in rooms that get the afternoon sun and it was immediately apparent that the sun gain was much lower than the previous windows. The wind is gusting today and there are no drafts! The total cost was a bit above some of the other estimates but after our previous experiences as well as the ease of the ordering process, the personable and professional installers- much less the quality of the windows- it has been well worth it.

The other gave quotes without doing any measurements. Clearview owner Marc made measurements and the a day later, sent in his window team to make exact measurements. I had all the exterior of my 1991 ranch completely redone. Upgraded polymer interlocking insulated vinyl siding with a moisture barrier wrap Tyvek underneath the siding. Brand new top grade soffet installed with new maintenance gutters. Also had them install an upgraded new front door. Huge difference with outside noise and temperature reduction.. Project was completed on time and on budget. Marc either called or showed up on the job site everyday. I have never dealt with a contractor professional of this caliber. I recently had a window repaired by Wilke Window and Door of Shiloh, IL…read more I have no complaint on the quality of the service, however their pricing on labor is extremely outrageously high and very overpriced. Wilke charges $145, to give an estimate. Which consisted of a technician measuring the broken window and taking pictures. The total time spent at this service call was 15 minutes. This has to be pre-paid or they will not come out. They then give you an estimate for materials and service, and 1/2 of that needs to be paid in advance before they will order the materials and schedule a repair. The window replacement took a total of 1 hour, which consisted of removing the lower broken double hung window, and replacing it with a new one. Labor on this 1 hour was $243 So total labor for 1 broken window, total time spent, including two service calls was 1 Hour and 15 minutes. Total labor was $398 I tried to talk to the service manager about this, and he said basically that, it is what it is. I hope to never have to use them again.
