My dentist said I did not need any root canals and it is clear to me that time has proved my other dentist to be correct. It is 2012 and I have not lost a tooth or needed a root canal. This may be surprising to some, but I'm not a tough guy. I spent most of my life cavity free. Then some time in my late 20s I had a really bad experience getting a few cavities filled. Actually they were my first and last cavities. That is until recently. Dr. Cummings numbed me up and it was done before I knew it. Can't say I'm an expert on getting fillings. And I can't say that I'm eager to get another one. But I am very glad that the one I needed was not traumatic.

Not for Robert Cummings himself - he has exceptionally gentle hands, is communicative and responsive, no issues with care at all. He's the reason I return. Moreover, the reception/appointment staff are really first-rate and friendly. BUT: the hygienists are far from gentle and patronising (that's the worst aspect); there is a strong tendency (in my opinion/experience) to recommend work that may not be needed (for example, two prior fillings "show cracks and need redrilling urgently" - well, that was a year ago and still no problem, thanks); and the place is rather run-down, with no distraction (TV, or even pictures to look at) during the time in the chair. Not terrible, but no reason to really recommend.
